New Subscriber here ~ as I was listening to Justin Peter's Daily Bible Reading, I was rather confused over this section of Judges. I had read it many years ago, and was confused then too, but was completing a course and was in a hurry. This time I did a search in UA-cam hoping to find someone to explain it ... and You did!! Thanks so much, looking forward to studying scripture with you brother! 📖📜
7:24 Yeah, it was weird to find a Levite there Joshua 14 3-4 7:43 What type of blessing did he give them? hahaha, the house of Micah was full of false gods, so that was a false blessing, which means that Judges 17 5 is talking probably about an illegitimate ephod, and thus making the Levite a false priest Judges 17 13 / 18 4. Judges 8 27, another false ephod. Judges 18 17-18 the siege of the idolatrous house and the taking of the false Levite. Judges 17 10 and Judges 18 19 the consecration of a false man of God. (full of teraphim) Probably this Levite is the same that we see in Judges 19 taking that into consideration, no wonder why those things happened in Judges 19. See Judges 17 7 / Judges 19 1 basically the same description for the false idolatrous man of God. But in verse 30 we see a Jonathan, interesting. Key passage Judges 17 6, but we know that those kings didn't do it any better, that's why we need Christ for the real and authentic New Jerusalem. The new city of peace. Judges 18 21 parallel to Genesis 33 1-2 same strategy. 15:17 HAHAHA, You're robbing me. To be honest it's funny how they just go after those idols and they are literally quoting psalm 22 but in a perverse way, they go like "my gods, my gods" and those are not God. Genesis 31 30 // Judges 18 24 idols can be stolen, broken, need maintenance, replaced but if you have a relationship with Jesus that can't be taken away. 1 Kings 12 29 // Judges 18 30 Judges 18 31 // 1 Samuel 4 3 // Jeremiah 7 12
haha, it is quite the peculiar scene. A bit abrupt and very rude situation to find one in. They quote Scripture, yes, that sounds like many evil men today, haha. Great commentary again, my friend!
Thank you so much for the study! I had a really hard time understanding it reading it by myself, this really helped me understand.
Good commentary. May God bless you!

Great study thank you 🙏🏼 God bless
Thank you! This is so great 😁
Seems like every single character was unrighteous in this story.
The 1100 pieces of silver is the exact amount that were offered for Samson's demise.
There is always a flow in the words of God.
Look again.
Yeah. But the idol was even cheaper than that. Lol
Thank you. I just subscribed.
