And if you hold option while you drag it copies it flattened so you have the flattened audio on your new track but you still have your old unaffected audio if you want to go back
This was helpful lol
THIS!!!
Glad I watched this. I normally just use "freeze and flatten" to turn my midi clip into an audio clip. Didn't think about using it to "print" an effect! Thanks Decap!
Wow so helpful ty
Before I flatten tracks tracks, I make sure to duplicate the track in case I decide to back and change things.
Dude you made my day!!! Thx 🙏🏻🔥🔥
Holy Molie!! Is this like a BIP replace? Thanks man!!!! Im switching from Cubase to Ableton and this was always bugging me
Freezing/Flattening saves CPU correct?
Yeah
@@jmatt9615 Thank you 🙏🏾
Yeah, it basically renders the audio with whatever plugins you are using and shuts them off, saving CPU.
@@LuisCasstle Thank you 🙏🏾
I mean it’s a pretty common feature, wouldn’t really consider it a hidden trick or anything
I think imma stick to FL 😂😂😂
why?
@@deivyhb2003 well, 1. I’ve tried using ableton before and it seemed like rocket science to me. 2. That shit in the video confused the hell out of me.
@@NOTBK666 you must be a beginner, it's ok but you must understand the use of CPU, is pretty much when you use to many plugins and the computer can't take it, so you freeze the track to save CPU and be able to have more plugins when you produce, mix and master the whole song or beat, and then in this video that freeze track you can take individual parts and use them without waisting CPU, hope this is clear
the fact that so many ableton users dont know this is funny af 😂
This is not a trick lol.... but nevertheless 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
flatte. ?...what he mean...2 track have no fx activ is a blank no fx track ?
or is this 2 track audio Clip rendered , bounched with the fx Sound....?
P.s. you can drack out a Clip out of froozen track.?
flatten is bounching rendering or qhat ..damed I dont understand grasp it...
Where’s the tip ? That’s like the basic of the basics
whats the reason of flattening a track for?
Resampling is such a useful tool
Whaat
Yeah! You can highlight any piece of the audio file and it becomes a sample... You could do anything to it. Reverse, invert, duplicate it, x2 or ÷2 BPM, you can "open in new midi track" and it becomes an instrument to play on the piano roll, you can easily go through an audio track and delete any spaces between the notes/sounds/open air... You can highlight specific parts to adjust gain/velocity with ease.
Ableton is the shit!
Right click audio sample and "insert warp markers" or "transients". It chops up your file for you so you can do what this video is instructing.... But the whole audio track... Not just one part. Open transients into midi tracks!!!
Isn't resampling more convenient?
Can also unfreeze the track, then go to your "processed" fader, find the "freeze" folder and, viola, you never have to flatten again! 💡🤷🏾♂️ 💯
Hymn
Holy fuck thank ya decap
Oh shit! This one really got me by surprise. Always learning. Thanks, DECAP!
Used to do this all the time when I made dubstep with a potato pc lol
That's crazy! Thank you for that!
That's a cool one
I did not know this! Thanks!
Does this work in Live 10?
This was possible since freezing was introduced to ableton
@@Trickey2413 when I drag a copy down into a new track in Live 10 it just copies it as frozen track, not as a flattened render.
@@daynemin Thats exactly what happened in the video. When you freeze a track it simply renders out the track and bypasses the plugins. The sample can be dragged anywhere in Live.
well in live 10 it just copies it over as another frozen(copy of source track)... its not flattened as an audio file with a printed effect etc...
