Funny, I was just thinking about this game today.
update: it has been 120 videos/519 days since I first started asking kevduit to play Bionicle heroes, and 11 videos/ 65 days since he said he said he would play it soon, i have not been posting a comment on every video as to not annoy him, but i am still counting!

I stuck with the idea that they randomly stumbled on that safehouse and took a long rest there until they wake up and hear the prepper

Unlikely. People come up with the same ideas all the time, just from different inspirations. Games takes years to make, if Zomboid came out a year later, they would've been in development for a couple years prior, even if it was an early access. I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt that it would be a natural mechanic for a sandbox zombie game. Kinda like barricades.
It's called Zombi U because the game is actually a sequel/reimaging of the original "Zombi" game Ubisoft made for the Amstrad CPC in 1989.

Most terrifying zombie game I've ever played. My only problem with these games is there are many capable people about but EVERYONE wants YOU to do everything. What is everyone else doing while I'm risking my life out there, havin' uh spot uh tea, are they?

a game like this should be made again, being able to kill your corpse is honestly a great mechanic. it's a lot like a roguelike.
Zomboid has the same feature; if you get mauled to death or die by infection from a bite/scratch, all of your loot decides to leisurely stroll away into the hordes.
There is kinda one and it's called No more room in hell (it's a free game on steam which I totally recommend, especially with friends) it has a similar mechanic like ZombiU except that you can get the infection by scratches or bites. The game gives you a choice to either suicide yourself or take pills to slow the infection but you can also find a cure throughout the map which depends on the difficulty you choose, however that's only if you're lucky enough.
Both time i tried to play that game i fell under the map and could never get my gear back
State of decay 2 let's you kill your characters once they've been infected and turn into a zombie.
WiiU game gimmicks were actually kinda fun.
Assassin's creed 4 had the map on the table thingy, ZombiU and other games had the inventory / gimmicky mini games with it.
Those type of things we will never see again, Kinect, Wii Motion and WiiU Tablet, Xbox Arcade/ Indie, Playstation Home ETC.
My childhood is honestly almost gone at this point, people remember my parent's childhood like Nintendo 64 and all that but barely anyone remembers things like Wii Sports having the equivalent of a flying simulator.
Flying around the island in Wii Sports+ was an incredibly fun experience as a kid. Alongside that bicycle game mode leaving me a sweaty little mess afterward.
I know no one who ever actually got any of the movement games, we just all stuck to basic console

I love how when the game was ported over from the Wii-U, they just removed the U from the title and named those ports just "Zombi". It's so stupid but I kinda love it.
What's worse about this port is the gameplay was heavily designed around the Wii U gamepad. Scanning, maps, inventory, mini-games, all on your gamepad while you could look at the TV to see your character and look out for approaching danger. They did what they could for this port, but it just wasn't made for other platforms.
@@ianmitchell5979 Rayman Legends too. They replaced everything Wii U touch screen with only a Y button, so the game became easier.

@@V3ntilator The WiiU gimmicks for Rayman Legends weren't particularly meaningful though, tbh. Think they always knew that Legends would be ported to other platforms as Rayman Origins was multiplatform.
But for ZombiU, they properly made use of the dual screen concept like a DS game which was cool. I think they only ported this game because the Wii U sold so badly.
@@idakev The designer of Rayman Legends designed it for Wii U only. The gimmicks made the game more hectic and harder to play, so it were not designed for mommies like the ports. ;)
It's UBI who claimed everyone else wanted it, and it sold terrible on 360 and PS3.
First year Wii U version sold more than the other versions combined.

this game was honestly the entire reason i wanted a Wii-U back in the day. I was a kid absolutely DROWNING in zombie hysteria and not only did it give me that zombie fix but it also had that really freaking cool gimmick of using the game pad for inventory, the map/sonar even sniper scopes! i was so excited to get it and play it as a kid.

Ngl my sister had a wii u and the only game I played was the pac man platformer (idk the name). Honestly a fun game to sink some hours into while your siblings laugh every time you miss a jump. Good times. Wii u was marketed terribly, it wasn't the second wii so why did they name it that lol
Yeah I love the WiiU's gamepad especially if you thought about it in a similar fashion to the 3ds' touchscreen. Its a tragedy that it was so short lived :(

I remember this game and it was my favorite up to the point that I gotten so good at it that I could keep the first survivor alive through the whole game
i loved to play ZombiU when it was on PC, i know isnt perfect, but i liked the ideas and the atmosphere.
At the time this game came out no one really made survival horror a'la the early Resi games. The Resi series were goofy action flicks at the time, so for Ubisoft to make a traditional Zombie survival game on a Nintendo console no one really knew anything about at the time was a pretty gutsy move. Love it or hate it, this game deserves all the respect in the world. I picked it up on the PS4, and yeah. I really like it. I would have liked it more if you had a more personal connection with your survivors. It would make their demise hit you harder.

I remember this game absolutely scaring the shit out of me as a kid. I think he Wii u pad used to play audio too so I couldn’t even mute the tv to avoid the scary noises and music
"Splinter Cell Blacklist" had some of the best touch pad usage as it were the game gadget. You could fly the drone around with touch screen and gyro only which were cool.
There were other functions too. This game were awkward to play on PC and other consoles when you played the wonderful Wii U version first.
Rayman Legends were by far the best on Wii U too.

to be fair this game was quite good for its time. espeically the part when you die you have to get youre backpack back was so nice first time , but playing this on iron mode is fucking fun :D

I have fond memories of this game, not because I played it but because my roommate at the time played the demo and all the sudden me and our other roommate hear this odd shuffling sound. We look down and the guy playing is is just running in place from the fear. It was just a great moment and we all laughed so hard.

i loved the local zombies versus player multiplayer on the wii u, played so many games with my dad and friends.
This game had an awesome atmosphere. They nailed the feel of apocalyptic England. The soundtrack was pretty good too

The only reason I got a wii u was cause I walked into game stop and they were selling brand new sealed wii u 32gb model for $100. When I asked why the manager just said that they had them in the back for over a year and no one wanted to buy them. ZombiU was the game I picked up with the system along with Wind Waker HD.

As a kid, I remember that the atmosphere of the game made me believe that nowhere in was safe, not even the Safehouse. Maybe it's nostalgia blinding me now, but I still feel like if nothing else, the game pulled off atmosphere really well.

I download this probably once a year make it a half an hour through in progress and it just being scared of it. “ not a fan of scary games “ and in time of writing this comment have it downloading for my yearly intake. I hope this gives me the confidence to go further.
I remember trying to get the achievement where you have to do the entire game without dying only to get blown up by an explosive and then never trying it again after losing a few hours progress.

I actually enjoyed ZombiU alot, I borrowed my Friend's WiiU(since he already lost interest and didn't play with it anymore) and it actually was pretty fun having certain Things that you had to do with the Tablet
The way how you get stuff from the guy on walkie talkie on the other side reminds me of bioshock. The game looks kinda engaging not gonna lie.
More engaging in the wiiu using the pad as your inventory.
From what I know about this game is that the Wii U version is more survival horror, while the pc version has speed the game up and you can do more damage.
All that adventure and suspense for it all ended...by birds
