Loved it. So pretty and unique. I was just about to book a flight from the UK to view with the 10% deposit required. Alas, I have been beaten to it. Sold within 3 hours of the video going live. I'm now depressed.
The problem with the "free" public parking 1 min away is that within a few years it might as welll become payable. I would not buy a house without a private parking space. Thank you so much for showing the property!
That's a good point. A very good point. In saying that, I live in Portugal and paid parking is simply not part of the culture, certainly in the region where we live (rural Algarve). So I wouldn't be too concerned about it in Portugal, certainly outside the main cities like Lisbon and Porto...
I am located in a village where parking was totally free when I bought the house. Like 5 years later, everywhere parking became payable. Even in my street. Due to works on another road, all the public parking places are also prohibited now for at least 6 months. Fortunately I have a private parking space.
@@vanacma1 To anybody that reed the comment. By law if you vote in that city of have your address of residency in that house, the city hall give you a sticker to put in the window of your car to have free parking. I live in Lisbon and have parking for free in Estefânia for 2 cars, one is free and the other i pay 25€/year for the sticker (remember that Estefânia for a hour is almost 2€/hour for parking, but i dont pay nothing). If it's a holiday house you need to pay or do it like a friend of mine that have a house in Porto to go in weekends and live in Lisbon, he let his residence area in Porto and his wife in Lisbon (there is no law that tell that a husband and a wife need to live together), and both ask for the sticker in both cities.
Heh heh, you guys are working hard to reel me over 😅. Fabulous house. I love you idea to covert that seperate side space uostaor into an adjacent ensuite for the bedroom its next to. What a pretty, pretty town with all services. Just the kind of town i like. Nice job, guys 😉
Love it...incredible character plus the river for my grandsons to play in🙂That ruin below the outside room.. could it be purchased with the house or even separately perhaps?
Hello Nick and Fernando, we’ll this is a lovely little house with no garden so ideal for those who wish to relax and/or use it as a base for their adventures or even the part time user it’s idea. Them walls in the downstairs couldn’t be built it can only be natural and it looks amazing the only thing that I could do was add some up lighting to enhance the beauty of the rocks.😊
No garden? They going to have a garden almost for them all the time but with the advantage of being the city workers doing all the maintenance. There is a great project to that area to build a walker path from Sobral to Ereira passing in Pampilhosa da Serra, The budget come from the city and 85% from the UE, i believe they want even expand the river beach to that area in front of the house. They can use the public area for free and nobody can say nothing i was putting some folders chairs close of the river for my use. Of course if you let the chairs out there some people can use it because normally people know that that area is public property.
What a beautiful town! I love the house but with a river above and a river below, I'd be concerned about flooding. I think I'd love to live in this town but would want to be above the two rivers if on the same side as this house, or on the other side of the river that is below this house.
The house is gorgeous! I love the truth window displaying the old stone work. The town looks beautiful and having a river beach on your door step is a bonus. 🙂👍👍🇨🇦
Very very cool house! Nice renovation. But only 1 bathroom, and zero property. It’s more like a condo apartment. If you could punch through the wall to that storage space and create a second bathroom (or even a sitting room) that would be nice. The drone shot of the surrounding town is super helpful since the buildings right near the house all look totally derelict
Very nice video Nick. Could you provide the music information (title, artist) for the ending music of the video. It's just beautiful. Thanks as usual. Looks like the property sold already. Good job😊.
Thank you for the video, does the license to do short term rental go with house or stay with the current owners? I thought there were no new airbnb licenses being granted, so was wondering how that worked.
If someone were to buy as a holiday home then they might not want the maintenance of a garden. The space out the front is lovely and you could swim in that river too. I hear you on price but I'm doing my own restoration and it's so expensive now and all the furniture too, I think the price is pretty good myself. 👍 thank you for commenting 👍
Ok I've never seen anything like that before. It is unique and very pretty. The town is so modern and beautiful. But, this property is kind of scary because it is right by a small river down in a large valley. And there is another river going thru town just behind the property. I would think it could flood. It has no outside space. So no thank you.
Love the house but can anybody tell me why there are so many empty derelict properties in Portugal, there seems to be hundreds of them, if Portugal is so lovely why has everyone left the rural areas, the countryside looks beautiful, but very neglected, shame.
Because successive generations of young people and have left for employment/economic opportunities, largely abroad. There are insufficient job opportunities in historically agrarian Central Portugal less and less interested in traditional farming. Those who remained stay untilthey must leave to be cared for or until they pass. And their succeeding generations often don't have the means to maintain these properties so they're abandoned until sold. There's interesting information to be gleaned on the internet. And the abandonment of properties aren't limited to Portugal, it has occurs everywhere -- villages of Italy, vast areas of the United States... . Many Portuguese who immigrated to other countries in their youth now hanker for the simpler lives they left behind but aren't as often able to afford to return in their near-retirement. To those who can afford to pursue a slower life, a country lifestyle in this beautiful country of kind people is very attractive. Hope this helps.
@@destino2portugal yes i heard but at beginning of video as they were walking up to door, it was asked if this in front was part of the property?? Response was no its public just this walkway/ sidewalk is part of house. So if thats the case you cant clean up entrance. Landscape, give it some pizazz with new gravel maybe a focal point or 2 to make more inviting and really make house stand out. And where would 1 park their car etc etc. Put flowers, bushes anything to increase appeal?

Agree having no garden around is a big negative for privacy. Nice touches inside the house but not big so that price seems too high

You can buy a barn for 50k spend 50k on it and then furnish it yourself, but this is less stress I can confirm from personal experience 💯
