Chatsworth House is a stately home in Derbyshire, England. It is in the Derbyshire Dales, about 3.5 miles (5.6 km) north-east of Bakewell and 9 miles (14 km) west of Chesterfield. It is the seat of the Duke of Devonshire and has been home to the Cavendish family since 1549. The house, set in expansive parkland and backed by wooded, rocky hills rising to heather moorland, contains an important collection of paintings, furniture, Old Master drawings, neoclassical sculptures, books and other artefacts. After the final demise of the Cathars and Knights Templars six hundred and fifty
years later, a murder and a series of suspicious deaths of the clergy become a link to

It isn't in a city, it's in the Derbyshire countryside, Chatsworth House, home of the Dukes of Bedford
Not in a city but near the town of Bakewell, home to the Bakewell tart, pudding and slice.

Maybe a few to many mannequins. Their taking away from the beauty.
Thankfully they aren’t normally there, it was just a fashion exhibition (hence why it was so dark in many of the rooms; to protect the clothing - which again doesn’t normally happen).
Was hoping to see the house, shame all those mannequins got in the way.

It was paid for by the entrance fee of the millions of people who have visited the house over the years.
The house also earns it own keep by being a popular location for film companies. Zero tax payer money has been spent on the renovation.

It’s privately owned and maintained by the Cavendish family it has been for centuries it earns its own keep through happy paying guests
