I was thinking... The only island that has ambiance in the places is the portland. MAYBE major part of those unused tracks are actually a clue that in beta there would be music in the other islands too! Makes total sense in my opnion
By how many of these unused tracks and how they sound muffled They probably would've worked like in Driver 2 Where You can hear the radio of nearby cars.
Any ideas where this would have been used? I had one of the very first copies of GTA III for PS2 (so old that it didn’t even have the post-9/11 changes in there) and this music immediately came back to me. I don’t know why, but I’m thinking of Shoreside Vale. It may have been de-used. I haven’t heard it on any other version though.
Mmmmmmhhh... I don't know. It's probably that it could come from one of the housing projects in Wichita Gardens, just like the ones coming from the housing projects in Hepburn Heights. Who knows! There are other themes similar to this one. I will upload all of them!
@@tcbgarage2845 no, I’m sorry, that’s not correct. That is true for all versions in the USA. However, I live in the UK. My copy, for example, has a destructible Airtrain (as seen in some trailers) and, in the mission “Kingdom Come”, the enemies are refereed by their original title of “suicide bombers” rather than the altered “Spanked-up Madmen”. Also, my copy has the pre-9/11 box art (although I prefer the post-9/11 box art which became the signature style). Rockstar said that 9/11 only delayed the release by a matter of weeks (mainly because they couldn’t get to their offices near Ground Zero and the changes were minimal (less than a single percent of the game). Because of this, most of the existing copies of the game had to be altered, but the early European versions weren’t changed, and I happen to have one of them.
@@videogamesounds-asmr, thanks. I love these uploads that you’re doing. They’re so clean and exactly like they were in the games. My favourite is the first backing beat for Grove Street (the unused theme). I was thinking the area there the Southside Hood were. As you say, similar to the sounds coming from the apartments in Hepburn Heights. Do I have an Alpha version? I don’t know if that’s what they’re called. All I know is that there are none of the changes made after the 9/11 rush (like blowing up the plane as seen in some trailers). I imagine it would be called an Alpha version. I’m not American, so I don’t have the a USA copy. It’s probably for these reasons that I have these changes. I didn’t realise how rare it seemed to be. It even has the old DMA opening, before it was turned into Rockstar North. I also have an “Alpha” copy of Vice City, but they’re not as rare haha.
For OP: I have the pre-9/11 version of GTA 3. If you need any files from it, let me know and I drop it up for you somewhere.
Do you got an alpha version of the game?
Nobody has an alpha sadly. There are so many people who claim that they own one, but those are con artists :(
@@jhj22 Where did you find a pre-9/11 version? Cool!

There is no copies that haven't got the 9/11 changes. The game came out after 9/11 already changed
