WILLY WONKA ~ PURE IMAGINATION ~ Orchestral Arrangement

- Hi guys, I hope everyone is well. I'm going through a phase of doing my own arrangements of pieces of music from classic children's films. I'm not sure why I'm going through this phase, but it is fun and is probably because every child wants to grow up to be an adult, but when you reach adulthood, you yearn to be a child again. So here's my arrangement of Pure Imagination from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Everyone loves this song right..?
If you enjoyed this I also have done my own version of Hushabye Mountain from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Here's the link if you'd like to take a listen :

Also check "My Playlist" for "My Original Compositions". Hopefully you'll find something in there you'll enjoy..

Sirs Newley and Bricusse created such unbelievably evocative moods and timestamps along generations of listeners.
They were way before my time, but it doesn't actually matter. My parents had a wide appreciation for music from different eras and films that featured the pair's arrangements and lyrics, which means that I did as well.
Their award-winning creations have been - and continue to be - covered by a great number of notable performers from a variety of genres, and so many have a solid place in the repitoire of English-language standards. And I love it all.
@@First._.Last. Thanks for commenting, I hope you enjoyed my arrangement 🙂
@PaulCassidyOrchestrations ~ Oh, yes - yes, I do very much enjoy your arrangement. Sometimes, my thoughts meander, and I say the last thing without ever having said the first. 🤎
This is, by far, the best version of this song on UA-cam. I've looked up and listened to every version I can find here. Excellent work. I love this song and I've been looking on and off over the last few years for a version this good.
One thing I will say though is, I prefer it a little slower and I found it more appealing at .9 speed. Just a preference.
Thank you for posting this and for all the work you put into it.
Thanks so much, I'm happy you enjoyed it!
Simply amazing the work you do Paul. I am in awe every time I listen to something you do. Cheers to you!
So beautiful it made me cry.
It's a beautiful piece of music, which I've loved since I was a kid. I'm glad you found it beautiful and emotional 🖤
Fantastic and magical orchestration of this beautiful piece, this sounds more than magical Paul !
Thank you, King Luis!
Paul, seriously, words are hard to come by that could accurately describe the incredible beauty of this. So I'll use just one: WOW!!!!!!!!!
Thanks, Hal. I love these old songs from classic children's films. They don't write them like that anymore.
Fantastic work as always Paul!
Great music ! congratulations Paul !
Thank you!
I love it love it love it!!! so classical sounding and beautiful piece!
Thank you, my friend!
Paul you should come to Boston Massachusetts and perform in magnificent Symphony Hall in Boston Massachusetts. From Charles Bosselman
Charles Bosselman is one of my favorite commenters!
Sorry Paul, I don't know who you are. But if you are responsible for this, you are brilliant. This is fantastic!!!!!!
Thank you! Everyone seems to like this. I just wish my own compositions were as popular 😂
@@PaulCassidyOrchestrationsyou turned something that was already great into something greater. Be proud of that. The brass coming in at 2:15 was a great touch! Wow. This is how an Orchestra should always sound.
❤
Paul, you gotta do one for the 2023 Wonka version... yours is absolutely beautiful though.
Haha, yeah maybe! I haven't seen the new Wonka yet though! Thanks for dropping by 🙏
Do you by any chance have the score for this? Or the score you used for this? Anyways great rendition of this song 😁
Hi there, I'm afraid I don't. I created the entire track by ear, based on snippets of score from the original film and other various recordings. I did, however, export all the individual instruments to wav files because someone wanted to use them for a live performance. They put the files through a music notation software which converted them into sheet music. But I did charge them a fee for the use of the wav files. If you wish the same, please contact me by email. Many thanks for listening!
Here comes the next John Williams
I love this version of the rhythm to the song: pure imagination, even because I really love Willy Wonka so much!🍫🍬🍭🍫🍬🍭🍫🍬🍭🍫🍬🍭🍫🍭🍫🍬🍭🍫🍬🍭
I love Willy Wonka too, which is why I wanted to do this version. It's important to keep happy childhood memories alive, and this is my way of doing that. Thanks for listening, I'm happy you like it 🥰
I love listening to your works. Every time there's a notification from Paul Cassidy Orchestrations, I know it's going to be so enjoyable and this is no exception. Well done my friend and stay a kid forever!
Very kind of you to to say so. I think this is the last of these I need to go back to original stuff.
One of the best performances ever from Willie Wonka and the Chocolate factory
Thank you so much I'm happy you enjoyed it. Happy New Year!
@@PaulCassidyOrchestrations How big was your magnificent orchestra?
@@charlesbosselman-sw7gf It's not a real orchestra Charles. It's all performed by me at home using sampled instruments
I’ve always liked this song, Paul. It sounds fantastic and I love it! Glad you’re doing well and creating more beautiful music. 🎶 🤗 🙂
Thank you, Carol, great to hear from you! I hope you are well 🖤
I loved this...💝 sooooo, I just subscribed....🌟
Thank you so much!
Paul - Amazing work!!!! Im 61 and know the original with Gene Wilder very well. I place your version - and the Josh Groban version - both at the top (Josh did an amazing vocal while walking backstage to a performance live). Thank you for this!!!!!!
Thank you so much! I've always loved this song since I was a kid and it was a delight to do an arrangement of it. Thanks for leading me to the Josh Groban version, I hadn't heard it before you mentioned it but I found it on UA-cam! Happy New Year 🎉
This is a masterpiece! I was wondering if I could get your permission to use it as a background track to a video about a model chocolate factory I've been building. There would be no revenue collected on the video and I would give proper links and credit to your channel. I completely understand and respect if this is something you're not interested in. Thanks, Harrison.
Sure Harrison. Give me your email address and I'll post you the file.
I will always admire your orchestration skills and these dynamics you pull off. Awesome work Paul!
Thanks, Maxx!
Candy Crush definitely took inspiration from this for their soundtrack. It makes sense! Beautiful work!
Haha yes! I'm an avid Candy Crusher so I totally get you!
Oh, I DO love this classic Newley / Bricusse song, Paul!💗
I think this is a great "phase," buddy.👍😎👍 We all wish to experience such a musical age-regression, and you're the man with the skills to do it just right. Great work, bro!!
I hope you and your family will have a happy weekend, even in a troubled world. 🇺🇦☮
Peace and brotherhood 😃🎸🙏💗🌏 ☮

Beautiful .... Amazing and magical rendition maestro, the best on YT. I just close my eyes because Mr. Depp on Mr. Burton's version music score has not much comparison with this orchestration. Cheers for the genius creativity and rendition of a total artist: the great maestro Gene Wilder of the great theme from composers Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley.
That's really kind of you, thank you so much. I've loved this piece of music since I was a kid and it was lovely to do my own arrangement.
@@PaulCassidyOrchestrations you have an immense and non common fine taste of the momentum for each instrument to kick in, which comes no doubt about it, from a mastering of all the elements of the orchestra and how they relate, and of course a brilliant mind, I can't believe this one and more of your productions have just a few clicks or likes. Your arrangements transcends audio waves directly to the emotions. I am glad I was able to find this piece and the rest of your work. Amazing mix and positioning, crescendo and composition. You don't ignore a key element of this creation, the click and clock motif, a theme all around the movie, Mr. Wonka is always hurry about the time, and that's the whole reason why he gifts his dream factory to Charlie. Cheers maestro.
@@ICanFixThat2 You're far too kind but thank you so much!
Great music and magnifique performance 👏👍very well done congratulations thank you
Thanks for listening 🖤
Longer version, please!🥰
This is as long as it gets! You'll just have to listen to it on repeat! 😉
Holy shit, this sounds official
Thanks! 🙂
You are the master of the mod wheel! :-) ...aka Mauricio Berg
Thanks Mauricio!
Fantastic arrangement, Paul... wonderful track!
Cheers brother
Thanks brother!

simply wonderful, dear Paul! 🌼🌷🤍
Thank you! I see you have been very busy yourself. I will visit you when I have time ❤️
Yet another amazing rendition!
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
WOWWWW
AMAZING
Love how different the melody is yet so similar and familiar at the same time 😍😍🥰
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it! 🖤
@@PaulCassidyOrchestrations You’re welcome 😁
It’s true
Have you done anything from Harry Potter or E.T. ? Those would be fun to hear, nice work
No I haven't. I do everything by ear and John Williams orchestration is so complex it would take me forever to do something like that and make it sound convincing. But I have done a few Star Wars tracks, by own compositions in a Williams style. You can find them in my Playlist section under "Star Wars Universe". Thanks for listening!
❤
💕
Gorgeous!!
Thanks!
As soon as I started to listen to your wonderful, dreamy arrangement of this gorgeous song my partner yelled “Oh that’s my favourite Willy Wonker song!” it’s so true that as children we can’t wait to grow up and then as adults we want to go back. Paul, thank you so much for bringing this enchanting music back, so beautifully arranged it carries your spirit away to special moments in time ... in the blink of an eye I am a child again. The relationship between music and memory is powerful. It is like a time machine. Listening to your wonderful music I can feel everything as if I were actually there. Thank you dear Paul.
Big warm hug,
Lorraine 👍❤️🎵🎶😘
Thank you, Lorraine, I love reading your comments. They always make my day! 🖤
Besides her writing, I love Lorraine's voice too, dear Paul. She can do *magic with a song, like you're doing in your studio. I think, music artists are like a poet. Even there's no more after the last page of the book, the story will go on, and on, and on, ...forever.
Happy evening to you both 💙🎶×2 .. ~P.
