Really great progress. I’m enjoying watching them come along. Thanks for sharing Do you do anything for the fig mites? My green M is also my worst tree with that. I’m trying a spray I read should help.
@@figtreegrower3152 thank you. I’m in for the long run with you. Love what you’re doing and sharing. Let’s definitely compare notes on the fig mites later. After I spray one more time, and waiting because it’s pretty toxic, I am going to purchase and release this specific mite to attack them and keep at bay permanently. My figs are younger than yours and not as much fruit yet, so I’m doing the spraying now before they have more fruit next year. Funny the mites are only on my potted plants, not inground.
@@figtreegrower3152 I wish I could put a heart. I’ll be sure to keep that in mind lol. Don’t want my in ground monsters to be affected. They are like 10 trees in one. I need serious time to bring them back down to size
@@figtreegrower3152I thought you need to spray it on wet leaves, to make it stick better. I usually mix Sulphur with water and spray that way. I will try your method, and if that won’t work I’m using Seven lol
I live a few hours north of you and my trees don’t have any that big yet. I have three trees with 50+ each, but the rest are just barely budding. It’s weird. All have the same soil and feeding regimen.
Sulfur will burn after 100F weather. And do not spray any oil when you use sulfur until its fully washed off and cant be seen. Or you will cook ur tree
Good point- I should have mentioned to wait a few weeks between applications of oil and sulfur. Although last year I did them a week apart and luckily came away with no damage.
Thanks for the lesson about dusting the plants! I am going to try it.
Great video. Always enjoy watching. Your trees are amazing 😊
Thanks Luke!
I am in South Jersey and I don't even have nubs on some of my trees yet. Looks amazing!
Yeah my garage head start really helps out
I think your videos and collection resonate with most home growers. Thanks for sharing and keep making them.

I’m glad you like them!
thank you
Time to start getting the fruits of your labor! Looks like a great year ahead. :)
I hope so!!!
Your trees are amazing!
Thanks!!

I applied horticultural oil about a month ago and then did sulfur recently to try and reduce them.

Are your potted plants a distance away from the in grounds? Maybe they haven’t been exposed yet or maybe the winter kills them off? Time will tell

i really wanted to ask the same question
Looking good man!
Thanks! I’m hoping these breba will ripen right
Do you have a video on the potting mix you use?
I have used various potting mixes. Currently I’m using ocean Forrest. I’ve used miracle grow and fertilome potting mixes successfully past seasons
Do you went the trees with water before spraying the Sulphur dust? Why can’t you just mix it with water and spray it directly?
I just apply it with the trees dry. It’s easiest for me to just use the duster and dry powder

What do you use for soil ingredients & mix ratios?
I just use straight potting mix. This year I’ve been using ocean forest.
@@figtreegrower3152 Thanks. What are the main ingredients? Peat & perlite? Anything else in there?
i want to air layer my fig tree its in pot full of fruits when should i do it
Do it now! It will take about 6 weeks until it’s full of roots
Heyy what gallon container do you use?
Primarily 15 gallons. I have others also - 5, 10, 20, 25 but most are in 15

Mine get an early start with lights in the garage is why
@@figtreegrower3152 Nice. Do you have LSU Purple, and if so, can you get yours to fruit?
I don’t have LSU Purple. It’s been a stubborn variety for you? How long have you had it?
@@figtreegrower3152 I just got it this year. A few weeks after buying it I found out it’s a bad variety for Ohio.
Dang! Where are you? Where do you store all these pots in winter?
Cincinnati Ohio. It’s getting tougher each year as I up pot more and more. They go in the garage

I have many varieties that produce doubles but not Bass’ Favorite. Lucky. Still no Kevin Sorbo song and dance routine eh? Sigh. The wait continues.
Ur croze is how my VDB is doing. 50 figs. I has 4 scafolds but 2 huge ones and 3 small ones. Every nodes has figs
Nice! They can really put on growth with a big pruning or as a first year tree. My negronne is a vdb type and it is a great producer
