    Compared to the cartoon version you nailed this build. I wouldn't be surprised if the game's owner tries and buys it from you for future promotions. As always, Extremely Impressive!

    I was going back and looking at your videos and enjoyed watching this again. You work with the similar equipment i do hammer and anvil. You always make great knives and tomahawks, keep up the great work thanks.

    I wish you showed how you covered up the hole in the pommel.
    It's the little finishing touches added during/after assembly that complete the build. Watching it being completed is one of the most satisfying parts.

    Looking at my bowie now, the seax heritage is obvious. I've never really made that connection before

    The broken back style of seax is more typical of the Saxons than the Vikings.

      He did one a few months ago on his patron sneak peek video but would also love to see Jake do a live QnA sometime. I for one would "go out of my way" to be there especially if he films it in his knife room.filled with his entire collection.

      jayrenz111 what are you using as a anvil, and what kind of hammer?

    • @jayrenz111
      @jayrenz111 6 років тому

      Using a 3lbs and a 4lbs hammer with a rounded face. My ASO face is annealed h13 around 45lbs welded to 3 plates that are estimated 75lbs each. I've had pretty good results with mild steel. I've used the edge of ASO too.

      jayrenz111 I find it helpful to cut a wedge out when I’m forging in a tang or the tip. I’ll use a chisel to cut small triangles out, and it’s great for starting off and creating a guide
