I get unhooked from stuff by breaking all my groceries off and then once I rig back, I hook the tree or bush behind me, break it all off and start over. I can catch anything and everything except fish guaranteed.

That 5wt blue halo rod is too slow for that stream it looks like and I’m assuming that’s the rod that needed the wax. Ask me how I know haha. Court makes nice stuff though

Food grade Silicone spray on all your guides, tippy top and spooled fly line. It helps with the icy thing!
Also the Loon paste works really well too - a bit pricey but clips on your bag / pack easier than a can of Pam spray!
@@andrewbragalone5513 silicone (food grade) spray you prep before you leave you don't have to carry anything with you. Also it is great preventive maintenance to keep your fly line supple at last three or four times as long especially if you fish in the subtropics like I do.
The last fish I caught was a laker brown trout.

Just got back from Grey Reef. Caught a few, you're name came up a few times. Not in a bad way though.
Having your ferrules fly apart is no fun. I once had to go wading about this time of year and I didn't have waders. I live in a rather chilly part of the country. Ice out had happened about a week before
I always try to keep an open mind when I am not doing well on the River, and when I don’t catch stuff I always try to find something that I was doing wrong and fix that for the next time. I guess the biggest thing I had to get past was always pinning the issue on the weather, water conditions, nothing hatching, etc but you have to get past that and realize that the fish will be there (most of the time) and there’s always bugs underwater. Moral of the story, is you have to use it as a learning experience no matter what and you can’t get frustrated when you are having difficulties catching fish
Perfect video, it shows what can happen when you go fish . Break a nail have a slow few days but still appreciate what’s going on around you . It’s not all about the fish . But mostly it is , stay Huge.
