If you read light novels I definitely recommend My happy marriage! I was slightly disappointed with the manga because nothing happens and so much happens just in 2 volumes of the light novel! So cute though regardless 🥰

Yes for full time salary!! ❤ and to answer your question when you showed us My Love Mix Up!, in western circles, BL is an umbrella term for “Boys Love” and any story featuring two men in a relationship (containing smut). Shounen Ai is BL without any smut and is focused on more the romance and is generally more wholesome/fluffy
BL is in fact not a term coming from Western circles. BL is a term, that is almost exclusively used for any male x male manga/anime/games/series etc, in Japan. And both Yaoi and shounen-ai are very outdated terms used almost exclusively just be Westerners. And for the Westerners who still do use them, shounen-ai=male x male, no smut (doesn't have to be wholesome or fluffy), Yaoi=male x male, containing smut. In Japan if someone uses the term yaoi these days, it's for doujinshi/fan work only.

love the recs and honestly i love blue period, but it's more something you have to have a specific mood to read because a lot of the time it hits too close to home but that can be nice to read from time to time, also for tbhk I would recommend the manga first, but the volumes are hard to get in some places so the anime is also a good choice tbh

Basically, Shōnen ai is about “deep relationships” between men while Yaoi is more of sex between men but romantic elements can be involved.
In short:
shonen ai = gay love
yaoi = gay fubu

Even though BL is genre I never seek out in general, I just finished reading older BL, or yaoi to be precise, “blue morning “ ( yuutsu no asa) absolutely liked it, highly recommend it.

I heard the LN covers more I think volume 1 of the manga only covered less than half of the 1st volume of the LN Xx

How come prices have gone up in the UK for manga?
inflation and probs because they see a higher demand so they increased the price
Shounen is boys and ai is love so it’s literally just boys love, on the western side people used to split things though with shounen ai being safe for work and Yaoi being nsfw. Now people just say BL to cover everything and the distinction wasn’t a thing on the Japanese side. Just a weird terminology thing that never translated properly. Seven seas is really going at it at the moment, I hope they ramp up the shoujo because shoujo beat is doing us so dirty. Quality wise as well one of my copies of my love mix up the spine is so off it’s partially on the front of the book 🙃 seven seas I haven’t had any quality issues so far

Personally I love Vampire knight, still to this day😂 despite all the turbulence I went through this manga when it was being released and all the chaos, I loved it more than hated it. On the other hand, I stopped reading vk memories right after I read vol 5, am i wrong in getting yuri vibe( please someone tell me 😢) and this new kaname isn’t to my taste somehow.

Congrats on the new job! I actually like Game of Suits more in comparison to the other steamship line. I was so addicted to blood on the tracks but sort of got turn off around vol 7 or 8 and I have not pick it up since. I was ok with the jap movie for no longer your heroine but reading the manga just makes my blood boil and I see all the flaws each character has.
