    The wisdom of Mick O'Dwyer on co-commentary is great to hear. He caused me pain when his Kerry sides beat Dublin but he is a true legend.

    The kick passing is shocking, sometimes not looking at all.

      Look at a lot of the matches from the 70s, 80 etc the standard was fecking awful. Abysmal passing, literally hoof the ball up field more in hope than expectation that you’d find your man. No such thing as picking a cute pass. The standard of play as greatly improved.

      ​@culchie1982 I couldn't agree more. I've been going to see the Dubs since '78, and the standard, preparation and discipline of both codes has improved beyond all comprehension.
      Give me today's game any day.
      The most athletic footballer I can remember from those bygone days was Pat Spillane.
      An unbelievable player and athlete. Jimmy Barry-Murphy up there for me as well.
