this is by far one of the best comparison videos ive watched.
Except that they're comparing a top-of-the-line Touring Edition CX-3 to a mid level HR-V EX.
The EX-L trim level HR-V has heated leather seats, sport and econ driving modes, paddle shifters, reclining rear seat backs in an already roomier rear seat space.
This was not a good comparison video, they should compare a top-of-the-line HR-V to a top-of-the-line CX-3

I would say that, this is the best comparison review, watch it several time... but still stuck in the middle... practicality vs whatever cx3 can offer... pricewise - hrv got few options, sexiest of coz cx3.... hmmmmm... not for me but for my soulemate...

I own a Honda and a Mazda. The Honda is a great first car, economical, very practical, and a very smooth ride, also notoriously reliable. The Mazda, it really is a driver's car, I thoroughly enjoy it every time i get in it. Their cars really have that Zoom Zoom DNA in them which encourages sporty driving (All my handbrake turns and advanced driving are on the Mazda), but some people who dont like driving fast might not appreciate that. Personally I prefer the Mazda as its more exciting. Just my 2 cents...

I just got my Mazda 3 a few months ago and I swear your review is on point! So relatable! Especially about the cabin noise. I thought only my car was noisy lol. And also the acceleration. At first I thought my car was underpowered haha. The things that you share are actually what buyers should know. Awesome review guys!

If I want sporty handling I’d get a car. It would take a special kind of person to buy an suv and prioritize sporty handling. It’s as dumb as choosing a 2 seater sports car and prioritizing luggage space.

We drove 5 hours to pick up our Mazda cx3. The car is amazing. With it just being my wife and I the limited space won't be an issue. Car is just gorgeous

I've had Hondas for years. Drove the hrv and loved it, but when I saw the Cx3, I just fell in love. It is a bit tight in the back for the teenage kids, but everything else about the car more than compensates.

This is such a great video review. I'm so torn between these two. I want to love the cx3 but I dont think I can deal with the road noise and tight space. But as much as I love hr-v, I'm not a fan of the touch screen a/c navigation. I prefer knobs, and I like the old school parking brake.

According to iihs rating, mazda has superior crash rating compared to Honda. Mazda are really engineering superb quality & safety cars these days...

Top job, gentlemen! I really enjoyed it from my seat in Australia - your sense of humour, and the deft way you did the comparison between the two cars. The comment on the need for drivers to adjust to the way the Mazda Skyactive engine delivers its power was a highlight for me. We are finding our 2015 2.0l Mazda 3 has plenty of power for highway driving.
This was the MOST fun car comparison EVER! Please review the Hyundai Kona!
I want a CX-3 but I need a HR-V. It's just a shame the mazda is not as big inside as the Honda. You can barley fit a rear facing child seat without compromising the front passenger comfort.
Just get a cx5 if you need more room

The presentation almost make me forget the subject, really good guys. Mazda seem to be the brand when you talk about design in recent years, somewhere around aggresive, sporty and yet relaxing interiors. I think the CX-3 is a good bet for all i want in its class>

Today i was test driving a CX3. Tmr i will try to get a drive with a HR-V. So far the Mazda is up front.
The road noise is not as bad but its still there but there is no Problem with ignoring or getting use to it. The perfect car doesnt exist. And if, we probably cant afford it.
Anyway, iam looking forward to a Honda test drive tmr and then i'll make a decision.
Honda HRV satisfies a need, Mazda CX3 satisfies a want. I'm going for the Honda.

I chose the HRV in Thailand. really wanted to buy the Mazda for its driving ability but the interior is just too tight. Literally 2 inches wider and 2 inches longer would have made the difference!

I want a mazda cx3 grand touring but I need a honda hrv exl. The cx3 simply performs and looks better than the hrv, plus I like the HUD on the cx3. The hrv is spacious plus has the magic seats. The cx3 has a terrible armrest and cupholder. I will ultimately go with the HRV since I have to put needs ahead of wants. The hrv would be good for me since I plan to soon start a family. The space the hrv provides will be essential.

i like the look of the hrv more. as a daily driver that would be my choice but cx3 drives sportier but then I'd choose the civic or the 3 above these 2

Good thing they did not mention about price since it CBU vs CKD. i do think Bermaz real bullet on CKD CX-3 just how they did with Mazda 3. More equipment with much lower price. Until that day, CX-3 will shaken the HRV really hard.
For me honda notoriously reliable. spare parts are readily available in our place!

With this segment in cars, compact suv’s are made with practicality in mind. For that reason, the Honda wins. If I wanted performance, I wouldn’t even consider the Cx-3. That’s what the Miata is for.

You are comparing a top-of-the-line Mazda CX-3 Touring edition to a mid-level Honda HR-V EX.
The Honda HR-V EX-L has heated leather seats, paddle shifters, sport and econ drive modes, navigation, lane watch camera, and a CVT transmission. The cargo and passenger space in the HR-V is also better than the CX-3. The HR-V also has more passenger space in the rear seats along with reclining rear seats. In the HR-V, the rear seats configure multiple ways (Magic Seats) to accommodate a larger variety of cargo options.
When doing comparison videos, you should really compare similar trim levels.
The video you did showed an unfair comparison, a touring model vs a mid-level.
Nunya Biznez please take note that in Malaysia, HRV shown in the video is a top V spec..meaning the most expensive HRV u can find in Malaysia. Maybe offered in other countries, but in Msia, Honda preferred to maximize their revenue by cutting down the add ons, but priced at the same price. Ultimately, still a fair comparison to me. Top spec HRV vs. Top spec CX3.
