I’ve ordered a 5’10 in the grey swirl and I’m the wrong side of 50! I’m going over to the UK in a couple of weeks to collect it. I reckon it’s got baked potato vibes but should be a bit more controllable and versatile.
It took me about 5 attempts to figure out the name lol. Board rips! Get you or one of the bois on it out there, yall will love it. Size it up a bit I'd reckon.
Most Machado boards are designed for and around Rob. I don't know too many, OK, I don't know anybody who surfs like Rob. Maybe Slater, Fanning, JJF, but these guys are super talented and most likely from another planet. (JK). I appreciate that Rob's pushing the parameters.
Whilst most boards are designed for a pro/ team rider at some point , they do have the average surfer in mind, the Machadocdo is still a really fun user-friendly board, paddles well, nice and stable but still with the ability to get it moving !
Inspired by the outline of an avocado mixed with the DNA of a fish and the performance of a shortboard. The Cado is one of those magic boards where everything just falls into place, twinny speed and drive but with the response of a classic shortboard template. It'll paddle extremely well and will catch waves just like the Seaside but does not carry any extra thickness in the rail or nose ... whereas the Seaside has a lot of thickness throughout the shape, great for paddling and stability but when trying to engage the rail can feel bulky , the Cado will allow you to engage that rail and hold its line well. Depends how you want the board to surf, fast, responsive and ability to keep it in the pocket or go more drawn out in the turning lines with loads of drive ...
oh look! you have no idea what youre talking about! A fuller outline constitutes making a puddle jumper? Look at the differences in 1. the rocker profile (firewires is much flatter) 2. the width of the tail and actually the entire bottom half of the surfboard. 3. The foil of the rails and bottom contours. 4. This is a 2+1 or straight twin set up. Meaning the fin placement is completely different making it a completely different category. If you have any further questions about basic surfboard design, i am happy to help you with more simplistic explanations. You would have a better case for saying the Puddle Jumper is a knock off of a Hayden Hypto Crypto.
I was looking for the sweetpotato but firewire australia doesnt have it in stock and will take forever to make one by order. How the machadocado compares to it? Both seems to have a pretty wide outline... I also have a 5 9 seaside, 5 10 puddle jumper hp, 61 dominator 2
inspired by the outline of an avocado mixed with the DNA of a fish and the performance of a shortboard. Experience the joy of catching waves where you wouldn’t even consider paddling for , Machados most versatile squash tail board yet…The Sweet Potato is probably the widest, flattest, thickest small wave surfboard you will ever surf. It's high performance but it's definitely a groveler, this shape is the absolute most fun you can have in really bad waves. The Machadocado is a more refined small - medium wave board but packs a punch with it’s performance. Best ridden as a twin+trailer you can have ultimate twinny speed and flow with shortboard performance, with the SP best ridden as a quad for extra drive in the weaker mushy conditions.
There are some overlaps between the two , to be honest, we think the Machadocado is a much more user-friendly versatile board than the Glazer, the chadocado is a well balanced proportionate board, foam in all the right places but gives you that desired performance feel you want

I have a 5’4” seaside @29.8 liters in helium and it paddles like 32 liters. I like the look of this, especially with thinner nose and tail

What size is the board in the video?
Would this handle sizing up a little?

Works this also in 6.0?
Hi , Your reviews are always on point, thank you! Can you send this board to South Korea? I'm at the wave pool for another month.
This board vs the Seaside? Seems similar but different... Quad versus 2+1 ... Apart from buying both how would you choose between them?

@@BoardshopUK I get which way the Boardshop crew are leaning ... And yes I agree
Oh look, 9 years later Firewire make their version of the Lost Puddle Jumper. Helium rocks though, gotta give them that.

I would've liked it more with swallow tail and 5 boxes but... dayum, it looks like a really nice board to have for Mediterranean waves.
🤙
Cant wait to get one. They sold out of the white 5'10" in like a day before i could even get an order in.
Available on our site though ;) www.boardshop.co.uk/brands/firewire?size=5ft+10&style=Machadocado
how much overlap does it have with the ol Glazer? look similar in some ways then a bit "different" in others....obviously
