What is full shade One side of my 2 storey house has full sun from morning till evening. Is that full sun? One side is hid from the sun from morning till evening. Is that full shade or low light or indirect sunlight? I have carport in the middle of my yard, it casts shade all day, I can still see and read under it when I lie down there out of sun. Is that full shade indirect sunlight or? I have a windowless fibro shed, I can still clearly see my way round in the daytime. Is that fullshade low light or indirect sunlight?
Hi Jack, thanks for your comment! Here's a simplified description to hopefully give you some clarity: Full sun - gets direct sunlight for 6+ hours a day. Partial sun/partial shade - 3-6 hours per day of sun. Full shade - no direct sunlight. So, your first example sounds like full sun, and the rest sound like full shade. Kind regards.
Hi @@jack9463full shade is no direct sunlight, so yes indirect sunlight is correct. As for seed germination, it really depends on the species. E.g. rainforest plants are probably happier in less light (less light at ground level), whereas, grass found in the open will benefit from more sun. In this case, if the seed needs light, then full shade probably won't benefit the seed greatly. Hope this helps!
