I love these old ships. I used to image what it was like to sail on one, but seldom think about them now. I’m glad you showed us this beautiful ship. Thank you.
Great project. Nice to see how Russian ship builders still use Dutch terminoligy in ship building. Il live in the Netherlands Zaandam where Peter the great spend some time to master the skills of ship building.. Great to see how Russia repects and preserve her glorious history.
It's good that you show maritime history of Russia. Many believe that only Great Britain built large Ships-of-the-Line. But Russia has had a glorious naval history. Russia needed a viable navy in order to protect it's vast Baltic, Black Sea and Pacific coasts. The maritime tradition remains integral in Russia's place among the World's Super Powers.
Russian Russian Navy is considered to be founded in 1696. but in the 10th and 11th century the Russians fought with Byzantium on the black sea, more than 1000 years ago and then there were huge boats of them numbered from hundreds to thousands. It was a huge fleet
Only Britain? Everyone with more than mild knowledge of history knows that Britain was not alone but that Britain build its military around the navy rather than the other way around
What a magnificent ship. Brilliant job of building. Some very clever Russian craftsmen employed on this project. Well done. Very important to preserve a nations history.
Peter the Great was a charector that was bigger than life, he went to Europe to study ship building. Now Im going to have to Google information on what happened to the original ship. Great video, beautiful replica, please include more history next time damn you. Keep up the great work.
That is one beautiful ship. Having been in the Navy, ships like these really interest me. Building a ship like that is almost a lost art. In the US we have the USS Constitution which is still original which I have visited in Boston Harbor. These ships are amazing. Thanks for the tour.

Great piece of maritime history, you cannot but marvel at the skill and craft man ship of the men who built such vessels using hand tools in those days.

Amazing vessel! I was unaware of Russia's Naval constructions of the early 18th Century. Really cool to see, as a Battleship Sailor myself serving on the last of their kind, this is special for me. Спасибо!
The first attempts at naval construction were undertaken by Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich, the father of Peter I. The frigate Oryol ("eagle" in English) was built in 1669. But Russia did not have full access to the sea, and only Peter, who won the mouth of the Neva from the Swedes, systematically approached the creation of a navy.
@@johannlingmarr8406 Very interesting, thank you. During the late Cold War period, we were in The Sea of Ohktosh, and not surprisingly we saw quite a bit of The Russian Fleet out of Vladivostok....from their perspective It was akin to a Russian battlegroup in The Gulf of Mexico for us (America) I would imagine. We got "buzzed" by a big "Bear" Bomber....and we didn't have air assets close by, so a Japanese (JDF) F-4 Phantom politely escorted the bomber away from us...fun times😁.

Beautiful. I hope to visit the ship one day. I saw a statue of Peter the Great in Rotterdam in 2017. I presume that is where he studied the Dutch shipbuilding industry.
Hi, Sergei. I am watching this on 30 April 2020. You said in December 2019 that the ship will be ready in July 2020. No doubt corona virus has postponed completion. I hope you can return to the ship when it is completed. Good video.
One of your best videos, Sergey. Liked very much. 350 men is a great number to be all jammed on board this ship. Was your drone easily repaired? It's good you have it back again.
Beautyfull ship aswellI. do know the "Standart" also homebased in Sint-Petersburg it did visite Amsterdam and Zaandam many times. Sergey Do you know this ship??
