As a former smoker, we never smoked in our homes. We come from homes that were smoked in. Not shaming our parents mind you, just never did that to our children.
Don't do this on flat paint.

Yes! Flat paint can really only be spot cleaned with very little moisture or repainted. 👍👍
I mean you can barely do anything on completely flat paint.

@@trademarktm2222you can tell by the gloss of the paint. The brighter the gloss, the appearance of an almost “plastic” surface to the paint, the easier it is to clean with this method. Flat paint doesn’t have that plastic look. It can be negatively affected by water. It is the difference between “oil painting” and “watercolor” if that makes sense. 😊
try that on a flat textured paint and lets see the results.
The house I bought was worse and soap and water did not work. I had to use degreaser
Same here. Ended up using Krud Kutter. Sprayed it on and drips running down walls were brown. But I have a70+ year old house. SLOWLY getting better but it takes time if stains are super heavy.
@@jahayes64 we took a whole 3 weeks to a month to clean all the walls throughly. I have a kid and did not want trace of the smell, I also did not want paint peeling up again because we didn’t clean right. It was a struggle. Specially because aside from the nicotine it smelled like years worth of cat piss and shit. Since the previous owners had 18 cats all over the house.

Hi Brandon, how long after you washed the walls with Dawn, untill you rinsed it off with clean water?
We have tried using a spayer to distribute a nicotine cleaner. Mop over to spread evenly, then after waiting for a few minutes while the chemical was doing its thing, we proceeded to mop over with clean water like you.

Amonia.Ammonia.. need to use more than Dawn.. from much experience when cleaning after smoking. Its strong yes, but it cuts quickly

It seems like Dawn Powerwash is the best cleaner for everything. What is the difference between the powerwash and regular Dawn dish detergent?
Power wash has alcohol in it I believe

I just use a regular swiffer sweeper and old dish towels the week tuck into the grabby things.
What mop are you using? I'm having a hard time finding a mop of wall and ceiling cleaning that cooperates with the direction I am trying to go. Any suggestions?
Use a steam cleaner with attachment looks like a flat head. Hope this helps
I did this works great but the home owner’s had a fuzzy friend that has hair like two inches long I’ve washed my mopped heads three times but hair is still in there is there a trick to get the hair out?
I have heard a lot about the blue Dawn dish soap. Is there something special about it that makes it ideal for so many things? I don't live in the US so am wondering what k can use in its place.
I don’t really know- but I assume any dish detergent since that’s all it really is. It’s just known for being tough on grease!
UK version is Fairy Liquid.
A little bit of Apple cider vinegar in that mop water will kill that smoke smell. Kind of like a reset.
I did this in my apartment but with diluted Pine Sol. Afterwards I lit up, of course. Job well done :D
