- Hello everyone - today I am going to be painting some lovely Poppies for this past Rememberance Day (11.11) and I'm going to combine pouring with pressing real plants to get some very interesting effects - it's easier than you think!

If someone said “too much hands”, they are being picky. You can’t paint without hands. Keep doing what you’re doing. It’s relaxing watching you paint

.Poppies are my favorite flower, I just love the color of them. I also have silk Poppies in vases in my bedroom around with a painting of a peacock 🦚 surrounded by Poppies. It very beautiful.

HAPPY KALI PUJA AND HAPPY DIWALI!
So as you all know, this is that time of the year when we pray to Goddess Kali (and some of us to Goddess Lakshmi) to tear down the walls of darkness and bless us with light. Kali, is violent, she is bloodthirsty, she is angry and demonic but at the same time she is a mother, protecting her beloved children from the grasp of evil, taking down one asura after another. She is eternal, the essence of the universe, ready to tear down anything that stands in the path of light. This artwork, therefore, is dedicated to all women out there, especially to all the mothers who take care of their loved ones no matter what. I believe that every woman resembles not just the docile goddess Lakshmi but also the fierce goddess Kali. In fact, I was inspired by a certain poem by Swami Vivekananda while making this artwork. He says,
" A thousand, thousand shades
Of Death begrimed and black -
Scattering plagues and sorrows,
Dancing mad with joy,
Come, Mother, come!
For Terror is Thy name,
Death is in Thy breath,
And every shaking step
Destroys a world for e’er.
Thou “Time”, the All-Destroyer!
Come, O Mother, come!
Who dares misery love,
And hug the form of Death,
Dance in Destruction’s dance,
To him the Mother comes."
This poem touched me so much and I couldn't help myself from making this form of the Goddess.

Beautiful painting! Comforting voice. I love that you reuse everything and mix paint in different jars. As I just start exploring the art it's nice to know that I don't need identical silicon cups and tons of sticks as well as paint pouring all over the place!

Your beautiful art and the poppies made me cry.
My grandfather was in WW1. Never managed to return back home. We even don't know where is his graveyard. As my grandmother was pregnant with my father, my poor father never saw his father. 🙁((

You can get straws in much smaller diameters , such as the coffee stirrers, that might work very well for really small flowers and buds.
