The 1st episode showed people being crushed by a collapsing building, it was realistically horrifying and something I have never seen before in an anime, I still don't understand why they thought they need to throw in all the crazy stuff.
when I was watching I expected this video to have millions of views but your are really underrated keep posting man
Thank you, that really means a lot!
Aren't we gonna talk about the rap battle where nobody was actually rapping
😂😂
As a northern european the moment i stopped being even slightly invested in the show was when an estonian youtuber hovered in.
Haha, it's an interesting insight in what stereotypes are held about us over in Japan I suppose.
Very strange representating, but interesting in many ways.
@@CultureVultureMedia1 the average northern european probably wouldn't fit in an anime. The representation is funny, unintentionally though.
I disagree about your take on the girl dying to the gas. They were near a volcano and there's earthquakes happening. It was likely C02, SO2, or H2S, that settled in the lower areas where they were. These gases in high concentrations can kill a person faster than you'd think possible. Look up that case of that guy who filled a pool with dry ice (CO2) for his girlfriend's birthday, hopped in, and never came back up. He and anyone else that hopped in like immediately suffocated. 😅😅 But the scene was to show in their situation, people drop like flies. It just reinforces the mom's position earlier that they just don't have the time at moment to grieve, especially when they have no idea as to when the next quake will happen.
Kite coming in was coincidental for sure, but not unbelievable, since as established earlier, he was taking video of the islands sinking and the disaster that was unfolding. He knew of the gases, because he was surveying the area and trying to record for his channel.
I remember only finishing this just to see how stupid it could possibly get. Dont think I would watch it again though.
I thought this was about the tv show Japan Sinks: People Of Hope, which is really so so bad it's pretty good
I'm gonna have to watch that as well :P
Good video! The show was a mess. Half way I was wondering where the characters were even going and there wasn't really any urgency to get off of the island with them joining a cult and then going on a random mission to get the scientists plans/documents.
I do wish they played around with the supernatural aspect of a cult causing the earthquake in some way, that would have made that sequence more interesting and less pointless.
Amphibious tanks are a thing, they are known as MAVs, you see them a lot in games and movies.
My biggest ire with the 'usual' disaster movie - other than the plot giving up on any shred of realism and logic (looking at u Greenland) - is the ever-present plot armor for most, if not all, main characters. So yeah, I've been pleasantly surprised when the dad bit the dust.
But then I realized he died to a random mine or whatever is was, while digging up a yam. A goddamn yam. I still can't decide if that's the best thing ever or maybe plot armored main cast in disaster movies ain't that bad after all. It's got the same vibe as DJ dying to some random bullet mid-way through the San Andreas movie would.
So this is suspension of suspension of disbelief?
It's the new meta :O
Another candidate for "It's so bad it's good" - The Green Knight -I'd love to hear your take on this colossal mistake :D my friend and I ended up staring at each other at the end of this film
Will definitely check out! Thanks for the suggestion :D
absolutely disagree with this take. I think it's trying to force a western narrative explanation to a very japanese story either way love your videos bro. subbed
