- MY CALAMANSI FARM HAS A PROBLEM.
This is how we are fixing it!
But first, it's Araw ng Del Monte, where our farmhouse is located!
The next day we are spraying a natural insecticide (mixed with something less natural), and we discover which fertilizer trial has given the best results!

Good Morning. Feel good vibes.
They see you coming. I would be the same buying those kids' treats. Bless the boy who dropped his.
Speak English to us. Oh, bless them. So cute. The kids are so cute.
Great atmosphere seeing the basketball. My youngest son loves to play.
That rain was heavy.
Great to see the new growth.
So lovely. Seeing you eating the fruits of your land. Wonderful.
And it will be spectacular.
Omg, that spider.
Thank you for sharing. Have a lovely weekend.
salamat thank for visiting yakan village..
Soon you are going to be the major supplier of kalamansi in mindanao☺️☺️☺️
Kumander you can make your own organic compost. You can use the leaves from your property, the grass trimmings and vegetable and fruit waste mixed together. Just pile them up somewhere and let them decompose. Water it and mix a couple of times and within months you'll have black gold! You can mix the compost and make compost tea, you can use to pour over your plants. You can look up Charles Dowding who uses no dig method. You can even make verma compost by using red worms. Their worm casting is the best organic fertilizer! Creating your own compost will save you tons of money. As for the bugs eating your leaves. Try to plant companions plants that these insects like to eat. Find plants that they can target instead of your calamansi leaves.
Farming is a great holistic approach to life.
Good Day! May everyone's weekend be full of happiness!
Nice to see your trees growing
Kumander Daot is learning the ropes of farming ... and hopefuly goes back on fishing too. Hope you wont give up until you become a master of it . And your followers are learning too! Versatile from travel of least visited magnificent places , to loveable local cultures enjoying on every bit of immersion not judgmental , to livelihood experience of neophyte on farming and fishing. GREAT!!!
17:47 huntsman spider carrying eggs. Harmless
Hopefully your calamansi dream doesn't turn sour like the fish farm...good luck and best wishes Daot.
This is just my opinion, I think you need a helper that stays at the farm all the time to put the fertilizer regularly and clear the calamansi tree from insects which destroy the leaves of the kalamansi tree and not always depenedent from chemical spray that might also endangered the plant. The helper also guard the fruits of the trees especially when nearing the harvest days. Love your content very much because it entertains and inspired us as well.
👋👋
Great progress man. I am following along. We are working on a house here in Negros (Cauayan city). Its a great adventure doing this stuff in a new country. So much to learn and I can use skills I've had for years but are useless in the cities of the western world! We have a nice boarding house with 10-12 students now and looking at some future guests houses in the mountainside.
The phillipines has so much to offer and the people deserve a great future.
Lingaw gyud ko sa imo kumander nice mate enjoy your vlogging in the Philippines amping permi God Bless
Good stuff Kumander D.... your like the Pied Piper of the Philippines....🎉 keeping the kids happy 😅.
Happy People on Fiesta Celebration enjoy lots of different food. Kids are very nice and friendly.
Years from now, KD, those kids will remember your GENEROSITY at this year's Fiesta. 🚩🚩🚩 Good deed indeed. Too bad the heavy rain 🌧 shortened the festivities. ... Nhel was MIA but her relatives were in attendance. 👍🏻 Basketball game was fun, esp with your farm's Foreman playing, and his team won! ... How does Marang taste? I've never tasted one. ... Managing Nature can be daunting, Anselm, but hang in there. 🤙 Soon, your Calamansi farm will be less work and more yield. 🙏 🤗 🤞
👋👋👋
There is great natural insecticide called NEEM oil.
Cheap if ordered in bulk, its a made from seeds and fruits of neem tree.
You mix it with some natural soap and water so you can make emulsion to spray plants.
I wish that your farm is success, giving local people work and you some income!!
I think the active32e contains some neem oil. Also heard good things 🙂
With that kind of environment, where nearby areas are full of small trees and leaves where insects tend to stay and lay eggs, regular spraying of insecticides is necessary. Good luck, Kumander.
wow. the fertelizer realy makes the kalamansi sturdy and bushy

In the early 1970's when I was a kid growing in Maco, then part of Davao del Norte, I've witnessed the flourishing logging business. Large logs were purchased by a Japanese company and shipped to Japan. Near the log pond, my cousins and I collected the zaps of the logs and sold it to restaurants to make some money. It's used as firewood. Passing by Nabunturan town on the way to Butuan city on a trip with my parents, I saw many large trees growing in the forests. Nowadays, the forests and the large trees are gone. The logging concession owners never did reforestation. It's really sad and disgusting.
goodlucks to your kalamansi farm Godbless🎉😊❤
Same thing happened in Nueva Vizcaya and nearby provinces, I blame the govt. Officials why they allow it. Na logging lahat ng kasuluksulukan ng aming forest. They are so greedy especially the govt. Officials na nakinabang din.
Kamaayo gyod ug PR ni Kumander D
The same happens in Dinagat Island. The forest can never come back because Ruben Ecleo's people had taken over the forest and turned it into farms. Illegal mining is another that's been going on. When typhoon Odette came, guess who got the roofing donations? It's the people who ruined Dinagat Island forever. They distributed the materials to the mountains. No one in the towns ever gotten help from the government.
👋👋
Love watching the kids😂❤...

Nice job good farming keep safe happy and healthy Sur anselm aka kumander daut
Mantep broo....juga bisa menghibur...selain juga menginfirasi...
Same provlem with my calamansi farm.
To fix that road long term would cost a hell of a lot of money. Short term would be a waste of time as the next heavy rain would have you back to square one. Check out how much a grader would be to hire daily and it can grade the road and make it smooth. Your best option.
Yeah - was thinking the same, might be back to square zero right away. I'll go ask the guys at the nearby road construction zone if they have a grader...
Grow some plants that ward off insects like peppermint, there are different flowers and stuff
Nice video
When i was a kid my childhood friend may bodega ng copras at doon kami naglalaro sa loob ng bodega at kumakain kami ng copra sa loob.
Remembered doing that as a child also. Back then, a boat followed the coast to buy the copra since there were hardly any roads inland. Stevedores would carry sacks of copra to a small boat which they rowed to the bigger boat anchored further out. Thinking back, why we even ate it when there were fresh coconuts and other fruits for the taking.
Really good to see the progress, just make sure you put up some lighting as you will have the same issue with trespassing and theft. As for the road, if not concrete then a roller every now and again for flattening and crushing it down. We really do hope and pray this one goes well for you. You deserve the success for your dedication. Blessings to you and your family
Impresionante
Hermoso lugar
Plant lemongrass around it will as natural insect repellant
I did that but it didnt help for some reason.. have a lot of tanglad but dead calamansi plant in my mini garden
first comment to my favorite influencer! May God bless your day!
Anselm, just a sort of advise from a friend. Please wear rain boots when inspecting and going rounds your kalamansi farm. This can protect you from sharp stones, pointed twigs and branches cut from adjacent trees and most of all protection from snakes( cobra & banakon) bites. Stay safe and healthy 👍💪😊
Me encanta 😍
Ayos.
What you say at 16:00 is called “management by just walking around” and what I suggested to you at the start of this new venture based on my experience managing a large manufacturing operation in the Philippines. The more time you can devote to being on-site the more successful it will be because just being there to supervise prevents small problems from becoming big “show stoppers.”
Absolutely the best approach. As much as I can, and if not me, I have Kuya do it when I am away.
Glad that it's helped get on top of the issues there!
Eh kumander, besides being a vlogger u would make a great school teacher too.All those kids will love u.Just saying.👍🏻🤙🏼
No skip ad commander to support your vlog...
wow very nice content friend
Kumander d ❤
Keep safe
Hey kumander. Try planting a Durian tree, particularly the Puyat variety. You can interncrop it with your calamansi. Durian is very big industry especially china Factories have opened in Davao for export. You might want to take advantage of it.
Use your grass cutter KD and it seems ur land is not that fertile since it’s not flat, try use limestone
Maybe you can consult with a government agricultural technician in your area. They know the area and may have the solutions to your problems with your calamansi. Wish you the best in your farming endeavor. Appreciate your contribution to our agriculture sector Kumander. My best wishes also to Nhel and Lily, your little princess!
Cris who you see with me here at the farm is an agriculturist and he's advising me 🙂
Are you always so happy and chipper? @@KumanderDaot
i once tasted a newly dried coconut meat when i was 8. wasnt bad tbh.. lol
Excelente
That's an old tradition: drying coconut meat before it goes to the milling station.
Daghan ka kalubihan kumander?
Baligya man ka copras.
maraming tubig ang kylangan ng kalamansi
mas maganda magtanim niyan sa lowland areas
"It's really good to have free-flowing water around the area. 😀

When life throws you lemosito, make a cool refreshing glass of calamansi juice. Maayong Bunkag KD
Maayong bungkag!
Maayong buntag in bisaya, means good morning in English!
Kumander D, I remember when I was a young girl, our house was surrounded with fruit trees, avocados, star apples, papayas, guavas, jackfruits, & guayabanos, & etc. We never used insecticides to get rid of bugs or pests. All we did was, we just burned all the dead leaves on the grounds. We were burning every 3 days. We had a sufficient amount of leaves swept & piled up. The smoke was a good way to get rid of bugs & worms. Our fruit trees were really healthy & fruit bearing every year. I don't know the rules there now in the Philippines about burning leaves at your own properties or in the open. I know here in Canada, where I lived, we are only allowed to burn in a contained barrel or if you have acreage away from a closer community, & also you have to phone the fire department for permission. Otherwise, you will get a big fine or a fire truck will be sent infront of your house. We have so many forest fires here now. It's kinda scary! Good luck with your calamansi plantation Kumander D. By the way, watch for the rise of the Harvest Moon on Sept. 29th. It will be the last Super Full Moon of 2023 ! Get ready to watch it Kumander D. from your side of the world ! The Harvest Moon is a Super Full Moon !
@@jovitagibson5567 hello Jovita! How are you?
I think it's technically illegal to burn but people do it still. It helps but it's difficult to cover a large area that way... more practical in a garden.
Same in the UK, a firetruck will be straight out!
I didn't know about the Harvest Full Moon! Will keep an eye out for that!
Stay safe!
Good evening kumander Daot hehe
your plantation is huge! like it and goodluck haha
Kumander when you went to Kapihan did you meet the messiah? The little round guy 😊
try planting some oregano it will lessen the insect attack.
Hi Kumander which fertilizer are you using for your calamansi farm thanks for the response
Good evening, how are you guys?
Marang ako❤❤❤
I think you should have a better control of the weeds around trees. Its bringing in most of the insects. If you're not for herbicides then mowing down might control the insect eating your calamansi and of course insecticides.
Going to mow too next week. Yes... the grass is now a problem.
Mow the grass and it can be used as fodder for cows or goats.( no waste)
Hire some local kid to collect a half bucket of old cigarette butts. Add to 3 gallons of boiling water. Stir and let sit overnight to cool down, in the morning pour through a fine screen. This can be used as an insecticide ( Nicotine ) still it will be highly toxic to humans and animals.
Mild enough to not harm the Citrus plants but it will kill all the insects attacking your calamansi.
On our citrus farm in Florida we would use Ortho ( brand ) Industrial strength 2 quarts to 500 gallons of water and spray using tractor to spray. We had to use respirators and Bio suits while spraying. Spraying only when we had 3 -5 days no rain.
@@KumanderDaot mowing will need to be repeated more frequently now that rains is ever present, herbicides might be able to control grass for months in one application but will need someone experienced worker to apply it
Have the same problem with my calamansi plant.. they keep on dying because insects feeds on the
Leaves and the
Plant itself..
You have now filipino lime farm
Try some organic fertilizers... processed cow manure or chicken manure..
Valen oro
Buena Cosecha🤝
Don't forget... fish guts etc can also be a good natural fertilizer as is animal poo.
Naturaleza
You look like you’re in a superhero costume 😂
Buena cosecha
