Hey guys as you can see based on my reaction I didn’t understand a few lines in Fireboys verse. I really like the song and I think I might like it even more.
I’m asking for a huge favor, who wants to help me figure this song out.
Type the number and the translation for the line your translating. Would really appreciate it🇳🇬
1. Peru para
2. Omoge no be so
Girl you wan capture my soul
3. Omoge no be so
Make me wan wombolombo
Peru para
Peru Peru para
4. I'm loo

Peru para
10. Peru Peru para
11. I'm loo
12. Even Peru don dey para
I'll try.
1. Peru is going nuts or going crazy. Para means to go crazy. Peru is a play on words using the city, but Peruzi is also the name of his afrobeats colleague.
2. He's fascinated by a very pretty girl.
3. He wants to get intimate with said lady.
Peru is a crazy city, that even Peruzi is going crazy. Again, this is just a play on words.
4. I'm looooooosing it. He's loosing his mind over the girl.
5. Even Peruzi, his afrobeats colleague, is going crazy.
6. I entertain people. I sing. I dance.
7. I don't smoke weed, but on this occasion I'm high on X. The girls want to have their way with me.
8. They say they're looking for me. They say they're looking for me. But I'm in San Francisco jamming.
9. They're looking for me, but I just flew in from Miami. Basically, he lives the lifestyle of a Rock star.
10,11,13 see chorus above.
@@LateefAlabiOki you tried
I’ll just add that Number 4 is also a slang used commonly by his colleague peruzzi when he wants to imply he’s going crazy…
Why put UK flag first, when fireboy is the owner of the song, u should put it like this 🇳🇬 🇬🇧 , black race continues to trip for white privilege, later u people will start shouting black lives matters everywhere
Bro this the same way Africans feel when jamming to dancehall reggae. Many don't understand the patois but can feel the energy of the music.
He’s speaking Nigerian Pidgin English and his native language, Yoruba, with some British English thrown in.
Aye thanks for letting me know. Figured it was a mixture of various languages. Never heard of Pidgin English before though. It’s pretty unique😁🔥
@@sayitwithsaint3027 Nice reaction. Interesting fact for you, Jamaican patois originated from this pidgin. You can look it up in wikipedia :)
@@sayitwithsaint3027 it like our own creole.
Just found out today, I want to visit Africa in the future to really see what influenced and shaped the Caribbean culture into what it is today.
Lol actually did the minute you made this comment
As much as I didn't like this reaction I must commend your calmness and control with all the verbal reprisals from my fellow Nigerians. Afrobeat is very special to us and we don't play with it. It's the only thing that we've got that keeps us happy for now and we don't take kindly to those who try to run it down or lampoon it. You're a nice guy but take time out to research on Afrobeat. I bet you'd come to love it like we do. And you could actually grow your channel with more subscribers from the huge population in Nigeria. Check out the Grammy award winning afrobeat stars like Burna Boy and Wizkid. Also Davido, Tiwa Savage and many more superstars from Nigeria. Remain blessed.
He is a nice guy, like you guys live in thesame area🤷
No mind the guy... He no know nathing
@@lilianeyesio3503 I see wetin he dey do....he dey form peacekeeper maybe dem go give am seat for UN security Council.
Yh I white British from London. I know wicked tems all them ones and love it. Grew up on mainly Jamaican music but got to know about the Nigerian stuff through Damien marley doing a track wid wiz. Now I listen to loads of them now. Love it
Not slavery days🤣🤣🤣🤣, you're a fool for that!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣 Good point😅
Lol a lot a people mad about that slavery line, but it’s a common reference in rap.🤷🏾♂️
The title “Wombo Lombo” is a onamatopoeic description of dancing like a fish swimming in water.
Can say the same thing about dancehall to an English ear but most if they like the song will research it
Just like we struggle with Jamaican patois.
Anyway, he speaks Nigerian pidgin with Yoruba dialect. Ghanaians will get alot of the words
Afrobeats is about vibes not lyrics. It's sang in a mixture of pidgin English, English, and local African dialects like Yoruba, Igbo etc.
I wish I was bilingual tbh. Finally someone said it. I’m not a big fan of Afrobeats because I like to dissect what I’m listening to. But it’s growing on me😁
@@sayitwithsaint3027 Africans have enough problems to deal with in real life. Music is a spiritual escape. We don't want to solve riddles or perform intellectual gymnastics in our music. 😀 Afrobeats is just a vibe that puts the spirit in a good place. Don't over analyze it. Just enjoy it and let it speak to you the best way it can.
@@LateefAlabiOki aye when you say it like that I’m rethinking my opinion about afrobeats. I’m slowly learning to appreciate all genres of music 👏🏾
@@sayitwithsaint3027 Dont dwell on that opinion fully.. There are artist that sings good lyrics on their afrobeat
Funny enough, the Jamiacan Patois you're speaking was originated from Pidgin English😂🤦♂️
It's a collection of different languages not only Pidgin English
Imagine speaking Patois and complaining about not understanding other dialects. 😂 Welcome to how the rest of the world feels when they listen to dancehall.
Hey dude, did you really think Africans or the world for that matter, listen to Reggae or Dancehall music because they understand Jamaican Patois or the lyrics in those songs? Seriously?
Fireboy DML is Nigerian. Lyrics is in Nigerian Pidgin English.
No I don’t think so, I actually agree with what your saying. Everyone listens music for different reasons & I respect that regardless of the genre. During the reaction I was actually mad at myself for not knowing what he was saying because the song was so good.
I was even more interested in Fireboy’s verse than Ed’s, because his was more interesting despite me not understanding everything he said.
@@sayitwithsaint3027 sir please learn that afro beats artists are singing primarily for NIGERIANS, we Nigerians understand the lyrics perfectly. Please try to do your research before making offensive statements like this. Or better still don’t react to afro beats thanks 🙏
@@feyiella6677 relax..
I pretty sure some of its different language coz burna does the same thing. Sounds good thou I always listen to these guys. Tems wiz aswell
One thing with you enuh, you eva a pree out ladies 🤣🤣
Naturally
He’s Nigerian lol that’s Yoruba plus pidgin I see why you were confused, it probably would’ve helped to know that beforehand
Those are alot of languages to catch up with 😂😂😂😂
Good reaction bro, I was glad you took back some of the things you said at the beginning.
For those that have no idea of the meaning of the song; Hypothetically, Peru is the name of the girl he was singing for; Para means an angry reaction. Therefore, he was saying that Peru was angry about the fact that he was having fun travelling around the world and wanted by others girls everywhere he went. The remaining part of the lyrics is him explaining the situation to the girl and trying to make things better.
P.S - This is not the real meaning behind the creation of the song! The original song was just a freestyle about some of his dealings with Peruzzi (another Nigerian musician) where the name 'Peru' evolved from.
Appreciate it. Not gonna lie, you had me in the first half.😂
His verses there are Nigerian (West African) Pidgin. He’s Yoruba.
It’s a pleasure hearing you speak too in your accent and creole (is that that correct word?).
With all the hate I been getting off this vid, I don’t know if your being sarcastic but appreciate it ✊🏿
No hate.
meant it
Fireboy dml is from Nigeria 🇳🇬
first time watching ur channel, am a Nigerian but like seriously if dis is how u do ur reaction, I bet u no one will subscribe to ur channel. Learn to appreciate other people
Facts
React to his vibration. It’s all mostly English. That’s my fav song from him.
Will do, but not right now. For some reason people have the impression I was hating on Fireboy.
@@sayitwithsaint3027 you can do better by listening to vibration or king
I see people trying to bite your head off, so I'm going to try my best to translate the Nigerian pidgin English and the Yoruba lyrics
1. Not actual words just like a chant
2. Beautiful lady it's not like that, Girl you want to captured my soul
3.Beautiful lady it's not like that, you make me want to go crazy.
5. Even Peru is getting angry.
6. I'm singing for them(i.e people in jozi) and they're dancing to it.
7. I don't smoke weed but I'm on molly.
Dem wan do me (They want to do me).
8. They said they're looking for me, They said they're looking for me, I'm in San Francisco jamming.
9. They said they're looking for me, They said they're looking for me, I just flew in from Miami.
You do realize Jamaican patois sounds VERY similar to pidgin English…. Lol do some research!
Everything he speaks in yoruba is what ed told you in English
Not really.
@@bellooricha6866 yes it its. The hook. They usually not gonna have the same verse
@@bellooricha6866 It simplified the song.
@@freshezell you are correct, man. He gave more interpretation to the storyline.
I did hear Ed repeat I few familiar lines from Firboys part. I was wondering what’s the deal with that. Thanks for letting me know😁
If you don't understand pidgin English you can't understand the lyrics and storylines. Ed Sheeran was able to simplify the song. That's Nigerian music culture to mixed languages.
I’m kinda glad I did this instead of the original because I can barely understand this English version, so imagine the original.💀
@@sayitwithsaint3027 Ed certainly understood the song before jumping into it, if not he wouldn't bro. But, I am kinda surprised at how a Brit could understand it perfectly. And if you barely understand the Ed version then you cannot understand the song then.
@@nmg1909 lol I didn’t phrase that correctly. I understood Ed’s verse pretty well. But I only understood bits and pieces of Fireboy’s verse.
For example:
1.Tonight in jozi, I'm in jozi
2. Mo n korin funwon won jo si
3. I'm not playing with you, I'm not joking
4. My third album is loading
5. Mi o kin fagbo but I'm on molly
I understood lines 1, 3 and 4 but lines 2 & 5 had me scratching my head during the reaction. Lol but big up yourself though for catching everything👏🏾😁
@@sayitwithsaint3027
Okay. Line 2 n 5 is the Yoruba language line. Yoruba is located in south west of Nigeria. I am from the south-south region of Nigeria but understand yoruba language. So I will literally interpret the lines
2: I sing for them and they dance to it.
5: I don't smoke weed but I am on Molly.
@@sayitwithsaint3027 You sound naive myopic, and uneducated. You sound direspectful. Question: What does "Big up yourself" mean in English literally? So, I should assume it is useless just because it is not English? There slangs spoken everywhere. Not just only in Jamaica. You really sound stupid bro.
Go listen to burna boy's "ye". And Patoranking Abule
He’s speaking Yoruba
Ask questions and learn se Nigerian language, like I don't understand what you even are saying.....see pot calling kettle black..
Hey I think there’s a misunderstanding. I stated during the reaction that I don’t understand the lyrics & also asked if anyone understands the lyrics to leave it in the comment section.
Check @4:10
I even tried to google the English translation in the last few minutes of the video because I really wanted know what he was saying. U can watch the last few minutes of the video and you’ll see.
But I guess maybe because I was using mainly creole throughout the entirety of the reaction you wouldn’t have realized I was asking questions but that’s ok.
All in all the song was good I really liked the vibe it was giving.😁
This dude is clueless. He doesn't even understand the general concept of music. Talking about understanding lyrics!!! What a joke
@@johnbenson2925 he knows what he is doing, he is among the few lost diaspora who look little on Africa and thinking that nothing good comes out of the continent
Came across this video and this guy hating on fireboy puts me off. A little education on Fireboy would have helped before u jumped on the Song. Can't watch this......smells of bias.
He just came across so ignorant, it’s clearly a different language/dialect…
@@am3liaaaaaa It's crazy, anything to be on UA-cam.
Dude is full of shit! What’s the point of comparing their mode of dressing. Is Fireboy supposed to dress like Ed? You are the one having the slavery mentality and you should emancipate yourself. Again, dude is full of more bullshit.
I couldn't even finish the video, I was pissed. Just from the beginning he began criticizing Fireboy's voice and the song barely started.
Ed is PURE
I was loving your reaction from the start...
But you saying what an artiste is saying is meaningless because you don't understand Pidgin English makes me feel disappointed
You think the world understands Jamaican Patwa?🤦♂️💔
I just finished watching. You funny. Lol.
Aye thanks man. I just hope people don’t take anything I say seriously or out of context.
This is a Banger Ed with Flow Fireboy with fire...........
I saw what you did there🧯
What do you know about good music. You must be stoned or something
Lol but I like the song, I’m confused😂

Davido? That’s a cool ass name, is his music any good? Lyricist or a singer?

You should also react to Stormzy's Own it with Ed and Burna Boy it is a total VIBE 🔥 Xx
Funny thing is, you kept speaking creole in your reaction and talking about how you don't understand Pidgin English
Bro, I wasn't understanding what you were saying also😹🤷♂️
You give me hater vibes sometimes watching your reaction videos. I understand everyone is entitled to their own opinions but I noticed the same thing in the toxic love video where stefflondon featured Midas the jagaban. It seemed like you were trying to find every reason to say something about midas( The nigerian artist) and its the Same here. It was unneccessary for you to compare fireboy to ed sheeran saying fireboy has chains on his next like "slavery vibes" Really? For a black man, that was very narrow minded of you. Then you kept on talking about his lyrics not being so good and even at the very beginning when the video barely even started the first thing you said was "I dont know who this id but if that is you fireboy good luck keeping up with ed sheerans vocals" Obviously that was him and he is clearly featuring Ed sheeran. You are very bias in your videos with nigerians. Like stop reacting to nigerians videos if you are just going to be bias. Go watch some jamaican videos, we did not beg you to react to our videos.
correction I just watched the video again you even said "slavery days all over again" Chile bye. You are narrow minded
Go rewatch my Toxic reaction @7:33 I gave my final thoughts. I said “I wasn’t sure if I would like her” because I’m not familiar with the artist.
I went on to compliment her. I said “she did her thing, I especially liked the chorus it was very unique” the chorus which Jagaban song was the best part of the song for me.
I’m wondering if it’s my heavy usage of creole during the reactions that’s causing the misunderstandings.
Who be this odeh..... Na so dey dey do review.... Olodo
Wetin the mumu sabi. Sounding like a half baked drop out. So unintelligent!
The song would hit harder if you understood everything. I get what you mean.
Finally someone said it. I wish I could pin this comment, mans in the comment section violating me thinking I’m hating on Fireboy. 🤦🏾♂️
@@sayitwithsaint3027 Sorry for the spelling error. I go back and really listen to old Jamaican music, and I say "oh that's what they're saying". The whole feel of the song changed for the better ever since.
I feel for people who don't fully understand what they're saying; especially for blacks in the diaspora. I translate for all my Caribbean friends all the time, and you can really see the appreciation they have for the song after that.
Track 🔥
lol tell that to them fam, they think I hate it.😂
This guy feels he’s more sophisticated than African guys. Most Nigerians are more educated and more informed than you.
You never wrote no song
hey due did you think.you can bench nigerian artist
Ohh, I just watched till the end now and realized he was just really vexed cos he doesn't understand what Fireboy says and feels Fireboy's spitting mad shits but he can't understand
Though, saying someone else's language is meaningless is wrong.. We understand you bro and we're sorry about the comments🙏💔
Don't even understand 60% of your English
that's a dumb take on afrobeat, especially from someone who is jamaican!
That’s my initial take. At the end of the video I gave my final thoughts. Which was that “the song was good”.
