This clip is awesome, and ahead of its time. Support local food and Canadian business! I used to work at the Charlottetown Hotel and I remember seeing sacks of California potatoes in the kitchen. Why would a hotel in PEI buy potatoes from California? And moreover why would anyone on earth want to eat that corporate/instant/microwave crap we get at the Superstore? Bring back family farms and local markets and screw corporate farming, it isn't working.
I can imagine Stompin Tom as a restaurant owner, mashing your potatoes in your face so that you know for sure they are real. Stompin Tom "the potato masher" stompin the hell of your potatoes with his boot.
I never would have thought that in Canadian history there would be a war against potatoes and its foe instant mashed potatoes. I am happy that in the 21st century we are no longer victimized by such things. :)
I want authenticity in my ears and on my dinner plate; that makes me a Stompin' Tom fan for life.
you tell him Tom! good stuff!
