The image of NU'EST in debut era was similar to BTS (speak out for teenagers and fight for justice) - You may watch the MV of "Face" and "Action" again - But "Hello" was a pop ballad... Even the song made them to be known by general topic, the lyrics and MV was about love and JR even had a kiss scene, hence the core fandom were turned off. While their concept got weirder ever since and with long-term overseas activities in China and Japan, they were forgotten by the Korean public...... Their original core fans were not supporting them anymore...... Until their participation in "Produce 101 Season 2", we all know what happened. "Hello" climbed back to the digital chart. They have a much bigger fandom ever since. Now the fans are more mature, and they support NU'EST because of who they are.

this is probably one of the most treasurable moments for old time nuest fans. i didnt stan them but as the years went by and you saw soooo many boy groups debut and notice that 98 percent of them never even get so much as a glance from people, this is a miracle from heaven. they not only represent the golden era but they also represent the resilience and and admirability of all the other groups that never got a chance to make it.
