Wow... We students really need a video to aid understanding... It is really hard to understand the dibase concept by reading the lectures notes or the textbook.... My god... how am i going to explain this during the exam????
454 = Pyrosequencing (uses luciferase to emit light). SOLiD = Sequencing of Oligonucleotides by Ligation/Detection (uses dyed oligos that colour code the first 2 bases). Tbh, this video doesn't explain it well at all. Too much jargon and the woman talking has a strong accent :/
One hour spend to understand from the professor. 4 minutes and i can describe it simply and well. holy crap...
the best video about a topic of Biotechnology, I have ever seen
I understood single molecule sequencing, but am going to have to watch this one again.
I think that during the test I'll just write the link of this video
Feeling the same today while studying this.
thank you, couldn't find a clear explanation anywhere else!
Still don't understand fully :|
Is there any good device that is about the same or at least less this solid system.
SOLiD and 454 Sequencing are not same. both are so different chemistry

Please tell any other video link for better understanding anyone plz send
why do you need templated beads?
Well presented!
Video seems like a extract from Jurassic Park or something. :D
Nice Video, But why didn't they use 1 nucleotide instead of using 4 nucleotides?
They are using two neither four nor two
Why SOLiD sequencing could guarantee better and more accurate sequencing reads than other new generation sequencing methods?
great K
What is the price for the technology
@Hardeleiar I feel the same way X_X
Finally understand
@Hardeleiar me too! -frets- :,(
still confusing
Is SOLiD the same as 454 Sequencing?
No.
Still does not explain the synthesis/sequencing mechanism (by ligation) with dinucleotide probes. She pretty much just says it happens lol
🐚🐚🐚🐚
Two hours,in my case!
lost a built in scalability.... woman sounds like she would be fit.
@clustro ~ 595000$ similar to other platforms
Not convinced, Illumina/Solexa is far better.
Horrible not surprised that everyone uses illumina now
Fake accent?
piss off...?
