I knew larry's compression trainer was a farce! Instead of being conned to donate a lot of my hard earned money, I bought the same type gauge at amazon $12. Sorry larry

You're lucky! We are all waiting and watching for Larry to be sued or perhaps even go to jail when the first elderly trumpet player causes serious harm to themselves by all the back pressure this device creates inside the body! Wait and watch!

Probably could be. To be fair, I did leave a comment on Larry's Compression Trainer video at his channel. It appears that he is not at all interested in whether this device could be harmful to some individuals. I received no response at all. Cheers

You don't need the gauge. Insert a foam earplug into the shank of the mouthpiece. You do NOT take a yoga breath and breathe against the resistance. You use the muscles of the mouth and sort of puff against it. Treat it as an endurance activity, not max out powerlifting

So about the aneurism risk: Larry's system is all about oral cavity compression, not entire airstream compression. It's as if one is using their mouth, filled with water, to spit a stream while breathing in and out their nose (for lack of a better comparison). It doesn't raise blood pressure at all (any more than compressing one's cheeks/mouth does). Also, the gauge he sells is in torrs, not PSI like your gauge. Lastly, his system involves a weekly workout routine, using percentages of one's maximum oral cavity compression and reps as an isometric supplement to playing.

Torrs is still either a vacuum or pressure type measuring device which creates back pressure in the body. Torrs is something like 50 to 1 p.s.i. Most individuals will have trouble doing a technique with no air, but the "trapped" air that is always naturally inside your mouth. So, what happens is that they will end up forcing air up through the lungs by intercostal and abdominal activity which...will raise blood pressure on a device like a torrs or psi gauge. It cannot be avoided. Further, If done for more than a few seconds at a time or more than a few seconds a day, the player will begin to feel the full effects of isometrics. It sneaks up on you....week after week, sometimes a few months. At some point, you feel like you are playing on your teeth, your accuracy is out the window, there may be a sensation of numbness, tone becomes airy, flexibility is lost and also becomes choppy and brittle. You can also expect serious intonation problems to begin as well similar to the intonation problems people get if they mainly only practice with a mute! I run the world's number 1 embouchure development course and have taught only about 100x more students than the individual that is playing teacher to this pressure gauge device. This number 1 trumpet course did not accidentally become number 1 or mysteriously become number 1, it ranks as the best embouchure development system for a very good reason: STUDENTS HAVE TRUE SUCCESS WITH IT!

That's because you are BLOWING into the thing and that's NOT how Larry's system works. That uses oral cavity and a completely different system of exercises.

it is a Tungsten tone booster I had been trying to design to sell. However, nobody was very interested and this was EXTREMELY difficult to drill out sooo I use them myself.
