Harley should run the wires for it at the factory, then it would have been so plug and play and easy. No reason not too, that plug would protect the unused wire and it would make it far easier for anyone to spend the $1000+ on the Rockford Fosgate system, which should be their goal.
Miss Heather; I do not know if it will work for you but, I have downloaded the Free Pandora App, Free I-Heart Radio App and because I have a SiriusXM account in my GMC, I downloaded the SiriusXM App with No Fee to my IPhone 12Pro and I Bluetooth them thru my HD system on my '21 Tri-Glide... I like the Pandora the best because I can set-up and use my music list... You will enjoy the music on your bike, however just remember to not bounce/dance around too much while riding... Great vid, please keep up the excellent vid content... Ride Safe and Have A Wonderful Day... 🎼
So glad you are back Heather! You always do great installs. It was hysterical when Anthony got that pin out. That is an expensive speaker set, but the way it fits seamlessly on the bike is worth it. Ride safe and looking forward to more videos.
The one thing that was depressing me about the new Low Rider St was that it did not have music capability. My last bike was a 2000 Street Glide and the first upgrade I made was new pipes and an upgraded stereo system as I dig music on long cruises. I just found out today that there is this aftermarket sound system that can be installed on an ST which makes me so happy as this now is the perfect bike for me. I am not a wrench so of course would have the dealer install the system. Just curious after I change the pipes and do a stage 2 upgrade if the stereo will be loud enough to hear music over the louder pipes. I also read which is so damn cool that the stereo automatically increases in volume depending on your riding style so at lower speeds the stereo lowers automatically and increases the volume at high speeds. So just curious how it sounded to you if you have changed the pipes on your bike. Thanks so much for the great videos. You have a new subscriber. Safe travels my friend🙏
great install, you always have a beautiful smile, but omg when you heard the music come on from your bike for the first time, your smile was amazing..awesome install, way to go Heather..you can work on my SGS anytime...those pin removals etc are always a f-p.i.a...like your hi-tech tool, it worked..
Nice job. Takes a little time but with patience you can do anything. Took a leaf looking ride the other day myself. Old lady nearly killed me pulling in front of me. Season is over for me for sure. I’m broke to pieces right leg, left ankle, right knee and right elbow. Please ride safe 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻👍👍👍
Hey Heather, great install. A tip for you when doing the pins (Molex), buy a set of the small, eye glass/jewlers screw drivers at Harbor freight or other stores. The ones that come in a plastic case with the clear top (contains both phillips and flat screw drivers). The smallest flat screw driver works like a charm. I have several pin tools and that one is my go to especially if you are depinning (not just removing the plug). The small screwdriver will lift the retaining tab inside the slot Anthony pointed out to release the pin on amp and molex pins and sockets.
I'm interested in getting this for my ST. Do you have to use the HD app or can you just pair the Bluetooth with your phone like you would anything else and use the music app of your choice?
That’s awesome Heather. You both did a great job. Like you. Plug and play was a broad spectrum. On my Indian, so far any upgrades have been plug and play. But there’s always that one 😀😀. You did great
Hey Heather, even though you hada call Anthony in for reinforcements, I really admire that You jump in with both feet on these projects! This video was way more fun and interesting than I thought it would be, seeing as I prolly won't ever (but who knows?) be installing a system like that on one of my motorcycles. I LOOOVE the Low Rider ST. And if I ever do get one, I might just get a hair up my nose and hafta get a system like that👍👍👍
Hi Heather, phenomenal job showing viewers how you installed the "Harley-Davidson Audio Powered by Rockford Fosgate" system on your Low Rider ST. Also, great explanation on the realities of installing this audio system. For other viewers watching, here's our official Installation Guide for Low Rider ST: ua-cam.com/video/tGo0rWtkWPQ/v-deo.html -Eric
Is there a video somewhere on getting the phone connected to the app? I'm about to beat my husband's El Diablo with a baseball bat I'm so frustrated with it. The bike shows up in the app as connected, but nothing coming out of the speakers. The H-D manual is incredibly vague.
@@abbyontheroad We have an installation video available below. Be sure the volume on your MOBILE DEVICE is up, we get a lot of phone calls where the volume is turned all the way down. Harley-Davidson Audio App: ua-cam.com/video/tGo0rWtkWPQ/v-deo.html
The more I watch your Vids on this bike, they more I want to shoot up to Spitzies and test ride(RRRRRRR)….. It looks like it has same shock system as FLHC I ride now (Puchased at Spitzies), nice and smooth. Thanks again for another GREAT Video!!
Not much on the market is truly "plug and play". That is why I went strictly aftermarket. There are installer's who take aftermarket equipment and make it 100% plug and play and will ship the product to you. Carlos Ramirez at NVS Audio, and Jay Bradshaw at Volunteer Audio is phenomenal in this area.
I’m curious how you feel about it with a helmet on and riding…that was my biggest complaint about that bike, I loveee it but having nothing in that fairing seems like such a waste of good space so I’m glad there is an option.
Great job on this install and video! Fortunately mine came with the Rockford Fosgate system (I got the El Diablo), so I didn't have to go through what you did. But you did an excellent job on working through this. Will help if I ever need to get to it in the future. I sure do love the sound! BTW, what is that seat you have? Looks great, and I'd like to get a new one with a little more back rest like that. Keep riding safe!!
Thank you. And yes, the sound is incredible. And to help, I'm using a $30 bluetooth controler for the phone volume controls, mounted to the handlebar. Also wanted to ask, after riding that seat for a while, what are your thoughts? I like the idea of a seat with lumbar support. I see that Mustang seats has a solo seat with lumbar support too. Thanks for all the great clips!
Question... I have an El Diablo that already has the sound system. I want to install heated grips but I can't find a good video for how to do it on the Lowrider ST. I know you need to connect a wire harness that would be similar to the job you did. I'm wondering if because my bike came with the sound system, I would already have the harness that I could plug the grips into. If anyone has any thoughts/advice, I would really appreciate it. By the way, Heather, you Rock! Keep up the good work.
Whick stereo is louder, the stock Road Glide on your dudes bike or yours? Does the “plug in” fosgates compare to the sound on a streetglide or Roadglide?
@@MotoBlonde I don't know about genius (certainly not on my part if that is what you're saying) but you went out of your way to try to find tools that worked better than the ones you were given, purchased them, and it was the one you two created that worked. Great job guys; hey, before you whine about that pin toooo much, try to think back to the days when there weren't any connectors, or um pins, and you have to cut into and splice the wiring harness to get power and (whatever) and you had to have soldering skills ... trust me, its not even ON the pony tail scale. 🙂 marcus
