I have never heard the point at 4:40 before about moving the hip but not the upper body in upper block. I have always worked on unifying the upper body with the hip. Is this wrong? What is the thinking being this approach? Thanks.
Rather than turning your shoulders, think of stretching them open with the hips. This is seriously advanced form, it has taken me years to figure this out.

Open your technique to support, close the technique for hitting
