- The prime minister of the Solomon Islands has dismissed foreign criticism of a security deal with China. He said Beijing's presence in the Pacific Island nation will not be a threat to regional stability. Australia, New Zealand and the US have raised concerns that the pact could lead to China establishing a military base in the Pacific.

This pact doesn't make sense unless the PM of the Solomon island's knows nothing about what China has been doing.
China has declared war on Australia twice, fired long ranged missile's over Australia's major cities & even fired invisible lasers in Australian waters at Australia's military planes over their routine survey of Australian waters.
The attack's on the planes injured the pilot's.
China has also declared war on Taiwan.
They declared war on Hong Kong, invaded & took over.
They even threatened to nuke Japan.
And what about all of their encroaching on disputed territory like in the Phillipines?
The Solomon island's PM should feel insulted that Australia revealed that he is granting China a more strategic position in order to attack Australia.

Did Australia consult its neighboring countries in South East Asia and the Pacific country like Solomon Islands about Australia's military alliance with the UK and US (AUKUS)? Australia also allow

If USA was so good, they would have helped myanmar when their military took control or malaysia when they are corrupted, or send more troops to help poor african country where there is no peace. The truth is, China is a threat for their "superpower" position, so they want to decelerate their development.
As a Singaporean, I wouldn't stand side, but my opinion is no one is good in war, they all fight for their own interests. In the end, it is not the politcian from USA/China getting shot on the battlefiled, it is those innocenet civillians that got drafted to war/was injured during the war.

Australia and New Zealand had similar security cooperation agreement with Solomon Islands, why does Solomon Islands need another security pact with China?
When Australia came to Solomon's help to deal with the riots in 2021, Australia's intervention was selective.
The scope of protection was limited to non-Chinese businesses. Looters could continue to assault the Chinese businesses and were let go.
Bearing in mind that the riots took place in a "Chinese" street, and mainly Chinese businesses were targeted, the purpose of Australia's intervention was pretty much to make sure the criminals could get away safe and sound.
In these circumstances, it's necessary for the Solomon Islands to seek help from China for the protection of the Chinese community.
Australia's security pack with Solomon is more like a pass to come in to destabilize the country anytime anyway they wanted and the Solomon can't do anything about it for lack of means.
Back in 2018, Australia signed an agreement with the Solomon Islands, the content of which is almost identical to the content of the recent agreement between China and the Solomon Islands!
The Western bloc is fine with Australia signing a security agreement with Solomon Islands, but are upset when China signs the same agreement with legitimate motives.
Since Australia's security agreement doesn't include the Chinese community and Chinese businesses, it's perfectly reasonable for the Solomon to bring in China to provide security guarantee to all communities.
The China-Solomon Islands police agreement stipulates that China can use police and military forces to protect the safety of Chinese personnel in case of riots in Solomon Islands, and China will also have a naval base in Solomon to facilitate ship visits, logistical supplies, stopovers and transit; and Solomon Islands can request China to send police, armed police, military personnel and other law enforcement and military forces to Solomon according to its own needs.
The purpose of the agreement is to help Solomon maintain social order to protect the lives and property of all the people.
In November 2021, widespread riots broke out in Honiara, the capital of Solomon Islands, resulting in four deaths, as well as over $200 million in damages, and the looting of Chinatown stores in the capital.
Needless to say, it was Australia and other Western powers that were behind the riots targeting Chinese businesses.
Then under false pretenses, Australia sent 100 military police to maintain order resulting in the successful escape of the saboteurs.
Solomon realized the real purpose of Australia's aid is to control and dominate the Solomon Islands.
Aussies have no intention to provide security guarantee or to help the Solomon develop the economy.
That is why Solomon is willing to sign this policing agreement with the China! Next time when the Aussies and Americans incite riots to achieve their geopolitical goals,
China can come in to stop them. US/Nato have been training/backing the Azov battalion to kill ethnic Russians of Ukraine since 2014.
Same pattern in the Solomon Islands, ie, inciting financing the opposition to target the Chinese community.
It's an open invitation for China to intervene.

USA has over 350+ military bases + labs worldwide, China has only 1 in Djibouti(so far)

On what planet do you live? Australia was asked by the Solomon Islands President to come and help them stop the riots. These were caused because there are many who were demonstrating about the proposed agreement with China. Australia has a long history of "helping" but not interfering.

The reason the local people of Malaita and Honiara rioted against the government is because the majority of local businesses are own and operated by Chinese residents, leaving the locals without any economic development opportunities for future businesses because mojority is already owned by foreigners and also because they know about China's poor humanitarian record, bullying and dictatoral behaviour. The current government isn't showing any real commitment to the people or their democratic processes.

I don't think people fully understand the position the Solomon island Prime Minister has put the Pacific Islands in, not only in a strategic military position but economically speaking long term. With or without a military base on Honiara China is in close proximity to NZ & Australia two countries that supports Taiwan independence and freedom, but also in the future if the Solomon islands were to cut ties with China how does the Solomon islands repay their debt to China?

The whole planet recognise the One China except for 15 tiny nations, Solomon Island was one of these tiny nations.
in 2019, Solomon Island joined the world and recognise the One China. They also joined the BRI. So 14 tiny nations recognise Taiwan as a nation.
Solomon Island's biggest trading partner is China. 65% of their export is China. Taiwan, USA, Australia, and New Zealand combined to less than 3% of Solomon Island total export. For import, China is also their number 1. Since 2019, the Anglosphere meddling and inteference has dramatically increased in Solomon Island. It has gotten to the point where Solomon island is asking China to help protect them. Solomon Island is asking China to send Ship and Troop to Solomon island should they need help. China was initially reluctant but the Anglosphere has been so horrible, it nudged China and Solomon island even closer together.

@@liamsau2980 I agree with some of what you have said, but I believe the majority of the people spoke when they rioted for what they thought was best for them and not those that would get their share of that agreement, I think we both know the people will never truly see any financial incentives, or real infrastructure or economic development that is truly needed because there is nothing flowing from the top to the bottom. Nobody can say that Australia has not given a very good reasonable sum of financial aid over the years, it's those that are in power that have their hands in the buckets and are not doing the right things by their own people. At least the Aboriginals haven't given up on who they are and what they rightfully own, we know that the Aboriginals know that Australia is their country, Always Have Been, Always Will Be.
