@@lizz5393 he isn't, the queen only had one child and he died without having offspring. Yoongi is from the same clan, meaning distantly related, not directly. The queen also died in the very early 1900s so there's no way she'd be his grandma by any means.
funfact for music nerds: the key never changes its all in one chord. the whole song. it is a real accomplishment to make a song with one chord sound fun and exciting and not boring!!
There's actually another level to this. The blond Suga could also represent past Agust D around the era when he put out his first mixtape. It would also tie up to the line about putting his past into the rice chest. Suga back then was actually blond and he also had a different attitude than he has now, to the point where his own attitude could be harmful to himself (closing off, driven by anger at the injustice and also maybe angry at himself for things cause by his mental illness...). And so this video could also be seen as him confronting this past self and ultimately killing him and freeing himself from his influence and taking the reign over his life (with the support of the other BTS members and ARMY). Considering the BTS album released right before D-2 was all about the concept of facing your own shadow just makes this possible explanation of the video even more likely. As for the scar, Yoongi pretty much said he just thought it would look really cool when he raised his head at the beginning :D :D.
That's how I see it. Couple this with Interlude: Shadow and the Agust D persona is the shadow that Yoongi has to accept as a part of himself rather than try to fight.
Agreed. I totally see this as the epilogue to Shadow. In Shadow, he identified what he had become, or was at risk of becoming, and Daechwita is his answer: I don’t want to be that.
Yup this is how i interpret it as well. More like the inner struggles of yoongi because he has mentioned in his lives that he is kinda over that hate and anger and you n really see that with his maturity came the calm of acceptance and understanding that all those had to happen for a reason and got to where they are now and so he’s over it and could finally let it rest. He cut that part of him and wouldn’t let it consume him anymore
Yoongi actually did a whole Vlive for his mixtape and in it he said the blonde AgustD represents his old self and is named "Anger". He said black-haired AgustD also has a name, but we will have to wait until his next mixtape to find out what it is. He's talked a lot about how his music allows him to work through the past & his feelings and struggles and emotions, and you can really see that going on here.
and to think that before yoongi said this, I distinctly remember an Army commenting their theory about the scar..they said that since emperors/kings were considered almost gods or god-like in ancient times therefore they are expected to be perfectly flawless (physically)..so yoongi having that scar {and so blatantly placed in his face} even though he was a king was another symbolism that he defied the 'impossible' or what is considered 'natural".. which ties in with the miraculous slave to king story if you think about it
Right no meaning to the scar according to Yoongi. There is a fact in history that no royal could have scars in their faces as they were to be god-like features. Hence we want our k pop idols to look 'perfect' SUGAis a pauper and has scars so the one who wouldn't qualify to be king is king and reincarnated..dat gwangnam flow.

Agust D/Suga is ranked as one of the most influential producers and songwriters in South Korea, who won multiple awards over the past few years, including best producer. He is ranked Billboard's Top solo Korean Album Artist of 2020. He debuted at #9 on Billboard Hot 100 Songwriters Chart. He became the first male soloist in history to have a song and album reach No.1 on iTunes in 100 countries each. His mixtape "D-2" debuted at #11 on Billboard 200 and is #15 on Billboard Year-End Charts World Albums in 2020 (he and Beyonce are the only soloists on the chart). He has two self-produced mixtapes: "Agust D" (2016) and "D-2" (2020), which broke several records on music charts worldwide. He was actually talking about the meaning on Daechwita in behind the scenes. And it is a lot deeper on psychological level, than it is explained by DKDKTV. This song continues the topic of his other songs about conflict between different sides of himself. He also produces/writes a lot of songs for BTS as well as for other top artists. I recommend you to check out BTS - "Shadow" MV (it is his solo song); Agust D - "Agust D" MV.
Since you have said that you struggle with depression, I think you would get a lot out of Agust D's "The Last". I am bipolar with strong depressive tendencies and I think The Last is one of the most honest depictions of the struggle with mental illness I have ever heard. A lot of people don't understand that depression, clinical depression, has very little to do with circumstances. It's an inexplicable prison inside your own head. If there was an outside cause, I think it would be easier to deal with. Anyway, Yoongi being willing to share his story is so brave and it shows how much love and trust he has with ARMY.
let me just say that we LOVE long and detailed reactions so watching the explanation of some of their deeper songs right after the mv or the lyrics is definitely an amazing idea. btw I super suggest DKDKTV for Eight (by suga), Idol and Ddeng; and Bookish Theories for ON, Ego and Shadow

some fun details that weren't mentioned in the explanation video: when he's walking through the market at the beginning he makes eye contact with/nods at the butchers (one of whom is the executioner that frees him at the end!), and then the guy he bumps into is Jin in a fake beard! who then goes on to start fist fighting with Jungkook lol The other members visited him on set too, but Jin and JK are the only two with a cameo in the mv.

My favorite detail missed in the explanation is the mask pendant Yoongi is wearing. In the beginning he makes eye contact with the butchers - in Korean society butchers also performed the executioner's duty cause they had the skill, however because of the work they were considered the lowest class, untouchables if you will. So the mask Yoongi has as a pendant is the mask of the untouchable from Korean traditional theater. So we always have a clue what side he's really on, he's the man of the people 😎
I know you have already realized this group is at another level but when you get into the rapline's music, continue to be prepared to be amazed. 💜You can't really say one is better than the other because they are all so different and ALL equally satisfying. RM's wordplay, Agust-D commentary and J-hope idealization make them some of the better rappers right now. Hi Caitlin! Thanks for reacting! And to answer your first question, yes we do! Long or short videos, it's okay with us as long as you genuinely enjoy the reaction, it doesn't matter. Hope you have a good day ahead! (or night?) 😊💜
According to a statement by Suga when asked about the scar on the eye he said,”Nothing special really. I just wanted it to be shocking when I lifted my face. That’s all. I wanted there to be a contrast with the set.” Also the girl in the MV was one of the BTS stylists. It was filmed in Yongin Daejanggeum Park.
Fun fact: The ancestors of Yoongi, the family surname "Min", were part of the 'Yeoheung Min Clan' which was composed of emperors and empresses. So Yoongi is really a descendant of royalty.

Do we like watching long videos? Let me answer in this way: if you were to post a 12-hour long BTS reaction I would watch it. Quite possibly in one sitting. So... 💜
I never get tired of this song, it's one of my favorites and the video is so well done, so cinematic and it tells a great story, Suga is always great but Agust D is a whole mood. I'm looking forward to your reactions to more solo songs from BTS members, they are all so amazingly talented! 💜
when I first became an army in 2018 I didn't know what a bias was and then who my bias was so I was just taking everything in. But then I heard yoong's first mixtape and the honesty in his lyrics really touched me and I gained such massive respect for him that he immediately became my bias and hasn't moved from that spot.
Ok I'm here *really* late but I got some theories for you( in case you didn't knew) 1. the blonde King Agust D is actually a false king impersonating the real King Agust D. Why? His scar is fresh, while the dark-haired Agust D’s scar is much older. 2. In the behind the scenes making film for “Daechwita” , Suga confirmed that the mad, blonde king is Agust D, who rose to power in 2016. The dark-haired Agust D is a the Agust D of 2020 who has come to take the throne. 3. What if black-haired Agust D came from the future to stop his past self(blonde Agust D) from making a catastrophic mistake?
If you think this song packs a ton in the 4mins you should react to the rap lines ddaeng and watch dkdktv’s explanation of it. Also check out the rap lines cyphers 1,2,3,4!
thank you for your reaction, I enjoyed it a lot 💜 just to clarify, there are members’ solo songs that are credited on the albums as songs by bts AND there are their side solo projects sometimes credited under another stage name (as we can see here SUGA is Agust D). rapline (RM, SUGA and j-hope) have solo albums (mixtapes), vocal line have produced and written lots of original songs. all of them are available on soundcloud. jk’s and v’s solo albums are up next to be released, though there is no fixed date for that. we’re patiently waiting for them to be ready to release it 💜
All I can think is if the "yeah" sets you off.....wait until you start to hear the whispered "Suga" on the tracks he's produced. You'll never unhear it and it's amazing. 💞
The whole D2 album is gold. The range of songs is diverse in tone, mood and topics, and show how at ease Suga/Agust D is with himself at this point in his life, experimenting and exploring genre and style.
Suga aka Agust D aka Min Yoongi, co-produces, produces, and co-writes & writes a lot of the BTS Discography. He came up with this video concept as well 💜
Hello Caitlin 💜 I think the explanation Video missed a little detail. Someone mentioned, that the reason behind the kneeling people switching sides has another meaning, too. Remember the scene where "poor" Agust D took the car key from the girl (Army)? The symbol attached to the key is what identified the true king back in the Joseon era. So "poor" Agust D was the rightful king all along and in killing the tyrant king he was taking his rightfull place with his own hands. I can't proof this theory, because I myself read about it, but from what I've learned about korean culture it seems to be correct. Maybe someone else knows more about it ☺️ Borahae 💜
my added interpretation has always been that the blond king suga is him from the past (more greedy, angry etc) and other one is him right now (more calm and content), and in this mv/song he pretty much lets go of/kills the old not so good parts of him
I always thought it was the opposite. Black haired Suga is the old him, from humble beginnings. King Suga is him after his success, where that success and power could have gone to his head. Instead of letting that happen he kills that part of himself so he stays humble. Who knows though.
If you love Daechwita (like I do) there is also a Bangtan Bomb where Suga himself explains the video. Not so much the historical references and such, but the story he's trying to tell in the song. It's over on BTS' channel BANGTANTV. If you search for Bangtan Bomb Daechwita, it should come up. Suga is so cool you should wear mittens when you watch him. LOL
back then if you had a scar on your body you could never become a king or a queen. But the fact that he has a scar AND is a king just shows that he did the impossible. Like back then nobody trusted in Bts and thought that they would never make it...but they Did!
He is not only producer, songwriter and composer for Daechwita but also has keyboard and synthesizer credits for this song. Please react to more his songs: The Last, So far away, Shadow, First love
FINALLY she reacted to DAECHWITA😂😍💜 the scar I think was mostly for looks, but I heard somewhere also symbolizes old suga, hanging onto wounds and hardships (fresh scar on the king) and new suga having put them away (healed scar on slave suga).
suga is really the best person you can go to when it comes to music and production becuz the level of passion yoongi has for music is just mindblowing seriously
This video was where it dawned on me how utterly beautiful Suga is (I know, totally shallow thought). The video quality also is mind blowing: scenery, lighting, shots of Suga and the car, lyrics, makeup so you knew we were seeing the same person, that fantastic beat, and above all else, Suga tied up speaking the incredible river of words. Great stuff! I love this thing!
THANK YOU! I have enjoyed watching your reactions but have now subscribed because you've taken the time to recognize the GENIUS of the songwriting by including the EXPLANATION!! Khamsamnida and Borahae!
Gurlll... I have been waiting for you to react to this!!! Basically you can't go wrong with any of his solo stuff. He really is a genius. I love all of the members solo stuff, but Suga's just hits at another level for me lyrically. Great reaction!!!
YAS BRING ON THE LONG VIDEOS! ALSO fyi for all of their MVs if you're interested, there are behind videos on the BangtanTV channel (for ones before this year there are no subs but you can find subbed ones on Bangtan Subs - either on youtube or their website). The behind the scenes are really cool and sometimes they give hints of the story (in the Daechwita behind clip, Suga talks about the story of the MV, it's really cool).
I want to recommend you his other songs: "The Last" - about mental health. "Dear my friend" - about friend who went to prison. "First love" - about his love for music. "So far away", "Suga's Interlude" and "Never Mind" cover topic of mental health and he is talking about his life. "Strange" - about society. "Interlude: Shadow" - about conflict between famous persona and his true self. "People" - really phylosophical song. "Seesaw" - about relationships. "Agust D", "What do you think" - answer to haters. Actually it would be great if you react to his mixtapes Agust D and D-2. It will give the whole different experience
Love your reaction! This is the first time I've seen one of your vids, but it won't be the last. Love this MV and so glad that you watched/reacted to the explanation right after. ARMYs don't mind long reaction vids as long as the reactions are genuine and yours definitely was legit. Thanks for your reaction. Happy New Year!
Great reaction. I feel like he is Min Yoon-gi in all the funny videos,he's Suga when he performs with BTS,but he's a straight Savage as Agust D. I love it!!
Yoongi's mixtapes, Agust D and D-2, are really great! You can see his growth as a musician and person from Agust D to D-2. Truly, yoongi is a great and sincere musician.
Great reaction Caitlin ! I've fallen in love with your channel recently and just adore your genuine rections💜💜 Congrats on 8k, your channel is growing so fast ( as it should 😋 ) Also, I really enjoy your long reactions so I think you should continue with them👍🏾💜
Yeeessssssss longer videos!!!!! 😍😍😍😍 OUTRO: TEAR. is a rap line's song, with amazing deep lyrics that sugar wrote when they thought they were going to disband... The Wembley live is a 1000/10!!! Really recommend that!! Who agrees??? 💜💜💜
So happy you're getting into the solo stuff! Back when i got into them, the solos BLEW MY MIND and i hated i didnt get into them before lol. Ill be following your journey!💜
I discovered your channel last night and I literally thought “I cannot wait to see this reaction” Thank youuuuu Suga is my bias and this song is what did it for me ahahha
Highly recommend giving the entire D2 album a listen, even if it's just on your own time! The songs are such a great mix of genres that are somehow also very cohesive, and I think you'll appreciate the composition/lyricism/production :) Thanks for the reactions!
Yoongi has two more music videos "Agust D - Agust D" and "give it to me - Agust D" he also has a song called "The Last" from one of his mixtapes, this song talks a lot about his past and everything that he passed, i would love to see you react 💜💜💜
ARMY will watch a long video anytime! Thanks for doing this one! Can I suggest if you like the rap line that you do Outro:Tear? There is no official video, so watch the lyric video first and then the live performance from Wembley or the final Seoul concert. The lyrics are amazing. Suga wrote it a few years back when they were talking about breaking up.
Fun fact: JK and Jin are background actors.
Just casually fighting in the background XD

Edit 2: Again, great reaction! Excited for more from you💜
Yes girl! Reacting to my Yoongi’s work, what can I ask for?
Isn’t Suga amazing? I’m so proud of how far he has come. I’m also proud of how clever this man is. 💜💜
Ok I'm here *really* late but I got some theories for you( in case you didn't knew)
1. the blonde King Agust D is actually a false king impersonating the real King Agust D.
Also check out the rap lines cyphers 1,2,3,4!
thank you for your reaction, I enjoyed it a lot 💜
just to clarify, there are members’ solo songs that are credited on the albums as songs by bts AND there are their side solo projects sometimes credited under another stage name (as we can see here SUGA is Agust D). rapline (RM, SUGA and j-hope) have solo albums (mixtapes), vocal line have produced and written lots of original songs. all of them are available on soundcloud.
jk’s and v’s solo albums are up next to be released, though there is no fixed date for that. we’re patiently waiting for them to be ready to release it 💜
Every morning the first thing I do is check to see if you have a new reaction. You're so funny and insightful!
🥺 thank you so much! You’re too kind! 😭💜
Ah yes my ultimate bias....Min Yoongi. The whole D-2 album was just *chefs kiss* in every way.
Cool. React to August D August D. I love that song. Yoongi is my bias 🥵
All I can think is if the "yeah" sets you off.....wait until you start to hear the whispered "Suga" on the tracks he's produced. You'll never unhear it and it's amazing. 💞
I love the long reaction videos! I even watched a lot of +45min videos when it comes to BTS. And I'm not the only ARMY who does that 😂😂🙋♀️
The whole D2 album is gold. The range of songs is diverse in tone, mood and topics, and show how at ease Suga/Agust D is with himself at this point in his life, experimenting and exploring genre and style.
Daechwita is Next Level! 🙌
the genius that is min yoongi, there are so many incredible parts about him, no wonder he's my bias :)
8 months since this came out and I still lose my shit over it, Agust D-2 solo artist, album of the year 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
SUGAAAAAA!! 😻😻😻 one of my favorite songs by Suga!💜
Suga aka Agust D aka Min Yoongi, co-produces, produces, and co-writes & writes a lot of the BTS Discography. He came up with this video concept as well 💜
Hello Caitlin 💜
I think the explanation Video missed a little detail.
Maybe someone else knows more about it ☺️
Borahae 💜
my added interpretation has always been that the blond king suga is him from the past (more greedy, angry etc) and other one is him right now (more calm and content), and in this mv/song he pretty much lets go of/kills the old not so good parts of him
I always thought it was the opposite. Black haired Suga is the old him, from humble beginnings. King Suga is him after his success, where that success and power could have gone to his head. Instead of letting that happen he kills that part of himself so he stays humble. Who knows though.
@@nicoleshh both ways make sense tbh, the meaning stays the same
Daechwita !! oh i remember how fucking excited i was the day it came out! we were all freaking out over him
I’m so excited for this reaction!
LIKE I SAID BEFOFE! SUGA IS A FREAKING GENIUS! IM SO IN AWE OF HIM! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼😭
He is not only producer, songwriter and composer for Daechwita but also has keyboard and synthesizer credits for this song. Please react to more his songs: The Last, So far away, Shadow, First love
i've waited for this all my life
FINALLY she reacted to DAECHWITA😂😍💜 the scar I think was mostly for looks, but I heard somewhere also symbolizes old suga, hanging onto wounds and hardships (fresh scar on the king) and new suga having put them away (healed scar on slave suga).
suga is really the best person you can go to when it comes to music and production becuz the level of passion yoongi has for music is just mindblowing seriously
YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW HAPPY I GET WHEN I SEE YOU UPLOADED I LITERALLY SMILE THROUGH THE WHOLE VIDEOS
From boy band to band of artists. Bts and solo bts are all on another level. Glad you’re liking it.
I remember I was screaming out loud watching Daecwhita released. Such a treasure during quarantine last year. Yooo....he's the KING!!
I think I just found my new home, my safe place, my happy place. I LUV YOU
And to answer your question- YES we do love long videos keep them coming 💜
It's the coolest thing to wake up and see that u uploaded, and atleast for myself I love it when you do longer videos!
I absolutely love this video. I have watched it a lot of times and I could watch it so many more times and never get tired of it.
I want to recommend you his other songs:
"The Last" - about mental health.
Thanks...this is such a great song... and Suga is a musical genius... have a great day... see ya next time 💜🇨🇦
Was so excited to see you react to this!! It is one of my favorites and cannot wait to see more from you on BTS.
This song is the reason why I freakin’ love him so much!!
Great reaction. I feel like he is Min Yoon-gi in all the funny videos,he's Suga when he performs with BTS,but he's a straight Savage as Agust D. I love it!!
23:17~ "Respect!"
Yess.. that's Namgi's (namjoon+yoongi) song and you gotta listen to that!!
What a grateful reaction you showed me !!!
I will follow your journey to BTS
Yoongi's mixtapes, Agust D and D-2, are really great! You can see his growth as a musician and person from Agust D to D-2. Truly, yoongi is a great and sincere musician.
Great reaction Caitlin ! I've fallen in love with your channel recently and just adore your genuine rections💜💜 Congrats on 8k, your channel is growing so fast ( as it should 😋 )
Also, I really enjoy your long reactions so I think you should continue with them👍🏾💜
Yeeessssssss longer videos!!!!!
OMG 56 minutes ago I'M SO READY FOR THIS REACTIONNNN LETS GO!!! Pressing play now!
I love it, thank you my dear💜
omigod you really did daechwita damnnnn
Giving a like before I even watch the video - that's where we are now, lol. I already know it's gonna be great. 💜
How long until someone points out the Jin/Kookie appearance? :D
YESSSS!!! I just got chills again! Yoongi is something else lemme tell you 😭😭😭
Suga’s studio is for real called ‘Genius Lab’ 🤣. Thanks for this great reaction Caitlin! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
I discovered your channel last night and I literally thought “I cannot wait to see this reaction”
Thank youuuuu Suga is my bias and this song is what did it for me ahahha
I recommend reacting to the meaning and lyrics oh his songs ‘honsool’ and ‘dear my friend’ they are also on the d-2 mixtape , love your channel btw!
Oh damn she is constantly signing a death wish she really does choose the rough ones 😂😂😂😂
Y’all requested me to do this 😂😂😂
@@caitlinbensonn I agree but like take a breather react to love maze or magic shop or 13430 before u start again 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I love your reaction so much, I'm ready watching them 24/7!
ARMY will watch a long video anytime! Thanks for doing this one! Can I suggest if you like the rap line that you do Outro:Tear? There is no official video, so watch the lyric video first and then the live performance from Wembley or the final Seoul concert. The lyrics are amazing. Suga wrote it a few years back when they were talking about breaking up.
your editing is hilarious, I LOVE YOUR REACTION VIDEOS! oh god you're so precious
