Maybe this Directors Cut will add in the 'missing' features of the game that people have found in the source code. Everything they wanted to put into the release version but didn't due to time constraints (feature creep).
Weren’t they wanting to make the RPG mechanics more in depth? Also I heard they wanted to add romance options or deeper connections between the people you meet.
I think unlikely. It’s something they’d likely add in the sequel. Some features may be added but for the most part Director’s Cuts include an extended story.

You can now in the photo mode, but being able to do it in the actual gameplay would be nice too. I just don't know how they'd make it work with end-game story stuff?

I think at the end of the game, the story kind of takes a back seat to begin with, so I think that while it would be inconsistent with the story (i.e. you should be moving up to another grade if the season changes again after you finished the school year), it would be a small price to pay for the ability to play in whatever season you want to play.
I need some kind of companion system. it was clearly cut from the game, the PC mods are showing how amazing it is to take other characters on quests and I think it would be fantastic addition to Director's Cut.
Same, I really want to see more of the characters that were wasted, like Amit, Gareth, and Andrew Larson
This makes me wonder. I'd love to see a Director's Cut of Hogwarts Legacy. One question it raises is: What would this include. Personally, my hope would be for a more robust companion system, more focus on classwork (if you want to indulge it). More of the student life experience and maybe at least a portion of whatever else they might have wanted to put into the game that may have had to be cut for time, resources, et cetera.

I felt that going evil, should have way more consequences. I think they headed in that direction, but chose to cut it, and go a different route.
The plan to go fully evil, was there, im sure of that. But they would need some sort of auror system, and that's why they dumb the plan.
I just want more to do in the game, maybe a few quests with our house mates. Me being a ravenclaw I would like a puzzle quest maybe with sophronia.
As nice as the features are that they've added so far, I feel like New Game Plus is the ultimate one that I've been waiting on. The prospect of replaying the game but with all the spells already learned would be so much fun!
I second this. I have a mod that basically keeps all the spells after starting a new game and it makes replays so much better

@@dougr8646 I think you misunderstand. Most single player game have a feature that allow you to replay the game from the start with all your old gear and abilities, in exchange the enemies you face typically end up being much harder. Hogwarts Legacy doesn’t have that option, which is what makes replaying the game kind of pointless and tedious. The classes in which you learn the spells are basically just tutorials which we don’t really need if you are replaying the game for a second time or more.
Many PC players download mods which gives you all the spells from the start and also enhance enemies

@@dougr8646but you're not learning new shit because you've already played it without or without an Ng+. Even then if there's anything you missed in the first run then you can experience that new in Ng+. I didn't find the sphinx in Dragon's Dogma 2 on my first run but did in my Ng+. I Geralt died in my first run but in Ng+ plus Siri became a Witcher and Geralt buggered off with Yen. In Bloodborne I actually killed the moon presence on my first run but in Ng+ I just woke from the dream. All these things could happen either on a regular new game or as they did Ng+. The only difference is my DD2 character had their cool armour. Geralt had his bear school armour ect. All a Ng+ plus does is allow you to avoid grinding again and allows you to not play the first half of the game looking like a massive gimp
I kinda think this is the reason they never released the documentary. It probably talks about a bunch of the cut content that they would want to put into the directors cut.

As much as i loved everything about the game from puzzles, exploring etc. I want more quests! We had a decent amount but not enough! 😂 I loved all the quests, and having more, to deepen the bonds with characters, visit some parts of the map we don't often go to when we're done with them, I'd love that!

I’m sure this is great news for everyone but I was hoping for a continued story for the game itself like Year 6 and Year 7. But as always, it isn’t easy to be a game developer as there are so much trial and error into creating a game.
A new game plus mode would sure save me a lot of time. I hope they include room of requirement

I want mmo features like pvp, quiditch, instances pvp dungeons, advanced spell crafting, seasonal events, game expansions for crafting, room design, brooms, outfits, loot grinds house points, story expansions, more classes, more secrets and puzzles, more unlockables, magical instruments with custom playlists for rooms. Just make the sandbox bigger

The only thing that would make a director’s cut version worth it would be co-op. Tbh it just sounds silly, when they could just sell a dlc expansion for the game that includes a co-op feature as well maybe a quidditch multiplayer mode or something like that.
So Rocksteady’s allegedly helping with a new version of Hogwarts Legacy? I’m guessing that they were well into doing that before Avalanche seen how poorly the suicide squad game did in sales and how much people hated it when it came out. I know I’d be like “oh no, people hate Rocksteady’s now. I hope that doesn’t affect this new version of Hogwarts Legacy”.
Look ill be honest the summer update should not have been 55gb for what it brought, i feel like they have added future content and are going to release it later
I actually got the update for this game a day early. Also, I still can't help but be bothered by the 2 errors in the Tangled Web quest. 1 being when the character says "half finished" at 5 instead of 6 since 6 is half of 12 and 2: when leaving the cellar. it says "North Hogwarts Region" instead of "South Hogwarts Region".
Oh my God, a director's cut would be awesome. There was a director's cut for Ghost of Tsushima and it was both a graphical improvement and game content.

Anyone hoping to I don't know ACTUALLY LEARN ABOUT WHAT ANCIENT MAGIC IS AND WHAT IT DOES?!!! All we did in the game was pass trials to learn about someone who also had Ancient Magic and Abused the hell out of it. We NEVER learn what Ancient magic can do at ANY point in the game. Isidora learned how to use it to take away peoples negative emotions which somehow allowed Ranrok to use it but its never stated what abilities he gained.
Just wish they added a Quidditch story line to the game! Become a captain of your team and guide your team to victory. Then allow an online quidditch league

You'll probably have to pay a priceto upgrade your current game but not buy a whole new game
I know that people have said in response to others hoping to go to other wizarding schools that Hogwarts is where the series has been tied to the most, so going to other locations around the world like in the Fantastic Beasts films haven’t worked, but I think the reasoning behind that claim is that Hogwarts is the only location that works because it has so much material behind it from the books that developers can use to recreate the castle. But just because there isn’t enough description of wizarding schools like Ilvermorney, Uagadou or Durmstrang doesn’t mean those places can’t be created in a video game. The developers would have to become a bit more creative, using what little is known about the schools from the lore to make sure things are accurate, but other than that they could design these locations, characters and events that occur however they like, as most of these schools would be an almost blank canvas. The wizarding world doesn’t have to center around Hogwarts, there are so many stories out there that can be explored if one uses their imagination.
I would love to see your own character go to the 6th and 7th year of Hogwarts. Because your character is in 5th year from 1890 till 1891. Because I would love to go on.
They broke the game with the update. Anytime I press R2 the game crashes. I did this 14 times now. I'm now unable to play the game 😡

It’s a bug with the Fidelity + Ray Tracing graphical setting. Switch to a different mode and you should be good. The community manager said they’re aware of the issue.

I don't understand what a director's cut means. I've never heard of a game having that, only movies.
It's usually similar to game of the year edition or collector's edition type stuff. Ocarina of Time Master Quest for instance is like a director's cut of the original. It probably just means some minor upgrades. Maybe new game plus, some more quests and items, that kind of thing. Sometimes slightly remastered graphics or bug fixes.
I hope they do Chamber of Secrets DLC, I mean they already got the Slytherin Sink thats the entrance, and not to mention the gaunt family whom is desendents of Slytherin.. Whom can speak parcletounge..

Personally i would think they were working on a DLC expansion and the sequel. Having a directors cut coming out is great but that just means the sequel is not coming out anytime soon.
I would like to see the sequel allow underwater traversal and be more in depth with the character creation for example allowing someone to be an animagus

It'd be cool to get a Blood & Wine sized expansion with a whole new zone plus expanded school life. Maybe call it Year 2? It's a big dream but yknow, dream big or go home.
As much as Hogwarts Legacy is in no way an unfinished game, there are many "hints" of things that were planned but then abandoned. Most of the caves have doors or secret passage openings that lead to nowhere, some puzzles feel incomplete (like, you do half of it and you unlock the chest, while there's so much more to the puzzles and yet they lead to nothing), the fact that the second area you unlock is almost towards the end of the game and there's BARELY any quests/missions in that second area, and obviously also things that seem inconsistent, like when Sebastian teaches you the invisibility spell to sneak around at night because there's a curfew in school, but then after you're done with the mission, you can move around at night without any issues.
So, although this is highly speculative (and more of a wish than an expectation), but these are my guesses for SOME of the things we can expect in a director's cut:
- Additional puzzles/rewards in caves/points of interests
- A point tracking system for the houses
- A morality system for the use of dark spells
- Some kind of curfew enforcement in Hogwarts that ties in to the house point tracking system (i.e. you get caught breaking curfew, your house loses points)
- Additional content for that massive second area that barely had any after it was unlocked
- Possibly a first person view for immersion, which would lead to possibly allowing for a VR version of the game.
All of the points above are major, so if they were to implement something like this, it wouldn't just be additional content, it would be more of a rework of the game, but that's what pops into my head when someone says "director's cut" - to me that means things that were originally planned to be in the game but didn't make it.
Something I would absolutely LOVE to see but know it's very unlikely (in fact, more unlikely than all of the above put together coming true) is multiplayer mode because I don't see a way of them implementing it.
I'm just hoping they'll eventually let me finally use my patronus. That's all I ask for... :/

I want to take photos of me sitting down as if part of the actual scene rather than awkwardly standing 🤣🩷 there are so many chairs and seats everywhere and yet I can’t put my butt into them? 😭 imagine sitting on your bed or chairs in your dorm! I love the dorms too much but can only awkwardly stand

I'd much prefer they spend all their time on a sequel and add everything fans have been wanting in there rather then putting effort towards DLC content
No official confirmation of anything yet. Schreier is pretty reliable though so I'd expect this news about a Hogwarts Legacy Director's Cut is happening. Given that Rocksteady is helping though, who's to say how many of the core Avalanche team is helping with that vs moving on to what's next.

Rocksteady is dead. They have nothing left, and most of the team quit to get away from WB and joined together under a new studio called Hundred Star Games. So there is zero reason to care about Rocksteady anymore, the Arkham team is not Rocksteady, in fact most of the current Rocksteady people are all woke freaks.
These new updates are a joke.... Most games have these at LAUNCH... how they have the nerve to call this am update or DLC is a joke.

They are known to make better singleplayer games than multiplayer tbf so it might not be that bad. They made the Batman Arkham series even tho that was a long time ago
Am I the only one who thinks its been too long now? I LOVE this game but .... Being limited to 4 characters I quickly got bored just "exploring". I mean ..... Its no RDR2 when comes to after story activities and finding new things to keep the brain ticking. And with GTA6 releasing info ..........Meh
Though I will wait until we have more official meat on the bone but if it is true then it will be more then enough to justify redownloading it on the PS5 and maybe month or two later by on my Switch.
Though I am glad that more players get to enjoy the huntanted shop mission and I do like the new outfit options they were they not good enough to for me to get on board with game for its replayablity is alread too limited with only a little differences between thehHouses with the overall story they bearly matter.

The fact that they're only discussing new game plus and didn't think of that from the get go is embarrassing. Too little too late. Once you've played this game once ko point in ever playing it again. There's barely a difference between the houses. No matter what you do your house wins the cup which is a joke in itself. Once you get all the spells game is too easy. The fact that there is no quidditch is pathetic and stupid because it could have kept the game going. They said you can change the game with your decision making and and weather or not you want to be good to bad and that's not true at all. You can't change the story you can't save the sister it's all set in stone. Game is overrated and I know plenty of people who loved the game and then never finished it because it's too much of the same thing got too easy and they hold your hand so you can easily find everything. There's no way to turn that crap off in setting either because your character will just shout out clues if you take too long to find something.

a companion system, maybe based off the house you're in and the relationship with that certain character, if you've done his/her quest or something, some kind of online component, maybe with a limited number of players , like 4 or 8 players per session , kinda like Monster hunter and of course, the biggest thing , playable quidditch , these i would like in a dlc or in the sequel for hogwarts legacy , oh, and more spells, "obviously" (read in Snape's voice) :D
