  • Tough race this one, it comes from another Weekly challenge race and it got a little heated. There was some beef between myself and a fellow driver. Unfortunately this resulted in a crash, I would like your opinions on the incidents and how we both approached the race. Please bear in mind that this is just one side and only my opinions on the matter. Thanks guys...

    Please bear in mind this is just one driver's perspective 🙏 I enjoyed the fight and discussed it with the driver involved afterwards, it's a shame that it ended in a crash but there are no hard feelings from my point of view.

    he had that coming, moving around in braking zones and reacting to your overtakes.

    • @Cloxxki
      @Cloxxki 4 місяці тому

      Well he moved twice before getting to the braking zones as well. Just blocking each and every straight. One day games will have better AI stewards to deal with this.

    There was definitely some blocking going on and some dodgy (pun intended) defending. That last move, he may have thought he was clear, sometimes that’s too close to call, even with the spotter. But he still kinda brought it on himself.

  • @Balrog7
    @Balrog7 4 місяці тому

    Yeah... he was defending hard initially but last 2/3 laps started doing stuff much harder and waving around and even under breaking.
    The crash was on him since you didn't move into him but rather the other way around, so it is on him.

    Honestly, I think you let him get into your head and I don't really agree with your voice comms. Could have handled that a bit better, this way it seemed to have heated things up more than it should have. I don't see the block you mentioned in the hairpin, maybe a different camera angle would help, but from the cockpit view. This is viewing it with limited experience, you're a better and more experienced racer than me without a doubt. After that moment though, he started weaving like a mad man and I don't disagree with your agressive positioning that led to him pitting himself. Ultimately, if I was in front of you and you asked me to cooperate more to catch up, I probably would have, but if you called me out like this I would probaby have been more difficult to deal with as well.

      Yea I completely agree, Patrick. I got annoyed when I saw everyone pulling away and lost my head a bit. The block was marginal looking back, he moved slightly after I moved for the inside but like I say, marginal. Thanks for the input mate 👌

    I had to laugh so much when this radio message came 😂
    Don't you know the famous words of Ross Brawn on the radio to Barrichello "let Michael pass for the Championship"? 😂
    Edit: Not your fault, he defended too hard and pretty unfair - so charma happens 🤷🏻‍♂️

    Ole was making 3 moves at times into one corner. That is 100% blocking. I hate the guys that drive like that, how is it even fun. He is driving from the rear view mirror in every corner. I would have put the "chrome horn" to him after about the 2nd time he did all that.

    That was totally on him. He`s a decent driver although his defence looked more akin to console racing like forza etc.

    Too many defend then change lines under breaking, hopefully he'll learn from this, but i doubt it.
    I get a lot of shit for pinning people in like you did. People defend but can't adjust their driving to the defending line.

    • @SteelRiverSims
      @SteelRiverSims  5 місяців тому +1

      Yea pinning people on their defensive line is an aggressive tactic. I don't usually do it unless I'm fighting someone like this. Without the movement his car positioning was actually excellent, just wished he kept it in one place so we could race side by side more, I just couldn't trust him to hold his line 🤷‍♂️ Shame.

      @SteelRiverSims yea it was a good battle, just wish others had the car control like you both had.

    Pretty dodgy driving all round I think, can’t properly tell because you didn’t show the replay on any of it.

  • @ciaranconnor4466
    @ciaranconnor4466 5 місяців тому

    Yeah he’s the wrong side of the line for aggressive defending tbh. Think you riled him with the early voice chat which prob doesn’t help your cause.

      Yea, like I said I was way too entitled in the early stages. Difficult when you're losing time, fighting in the first few laps.

    Could have approached this from the point of view of having a good race with someone. He has the right to defend and other than him making the mistake of pit manoovering himself all was fine. The crap contact and tire physics ended this interesting battle. That little contact would not have been a problem in RF2 for eg.

    You're quite the whinger. Just a thought, but perhaps qualify better next time to fight for the podium without slower cars in your way.

      I am quite the whinger, you're right 😂 I did qualify pretty well but difficult to get away on that tight line I guess 🤷‍♂️ I will work on my qualifying, thanks for the advice 😊

      Didn't mean to be derogatory. I'm a rookie and just started playing with the GT3 series. Really enjoying the experience over the Mazda but have much to learn. I probably would have let you by, but may have also enjoyed the challenge of trying to hold my position and practice defending. Particularly if I was nagged a bit and got a little bump from behind. 😉 @@SteelRiverSims

      No, you're absolutely right with your comment mate. It's fine. Like I said in the intro I was way too entitled at the early stages. GT3's are tough due to high participation but it's a real test of skill...and patience 😉

    You are obviously a quick driver and you were faster than Ole however this is not real racing and the rules of sim racing are more like guidelines than actual rules. There is no huge million dollar investment or major sponsor and specifically there are no consequences for accidents in terms of dollars and risk of injury, except maybe to your egos, so the sim racing should be treated as fun and not something you should get stressed about. If a non gamer were to see this they would probably say it was two immature children fighting over toys in a sand pit and that's a little embarrassing.
