This is a Southern country boy. The good ones are protectors, the bad ones deserve what they get.
DAMN RIGHT!!
Exactly right
Hell yeah, brother
Agreed
Exactly! Bitd those good southern men made the bad ones disappear.
Being a southern woman, I knew exactly what Wait in the Truck meant, it means hell is coming for someone
An amount of Hell that even the devil would be envious of. Wait in the Truck means nothing more than an individual is about to say a prayer, and meet their maker
Ma'am you ain't gunna wanna see what's bout to happen ...just wait in the truck
I think that's 'country' nationwide lol. I have family ALL over the US in rural areas and they all use that expression. I mean, we all ORIGINATED in the south, so there is that. 😂😂
Hell yeah!!❤
Wait in the truck - meaning shits about to hit the fan
He knew that he didn't deserve mercy from the court, but he asked for mercy from the Lord. And if you didn't notice, she's still waiting for him in his truck.
"Never thought my day of justice would come from a Judge under a seat"...best line in music in years.
There's quite a few 'country folk' who have heard (and used) that line for over 5 decades, including myself, and it wasn't until now that I wondered why that line never made it into song lyrics until now.
For those who don't know, the pistol that is seen in the video is a Taurus "Judge"
@@coryemm4872 For anyone who knows about firearms, that is definitely not a Taurus Judge at all, used in the video.
In fact, the lyric "Judge under the seat" is NOT referring to that model of Taurus revolver, as that line/lyric has been used decades before the Taurus Judge was even first produced. That lyric simply means ANY type of firearm someone carries in their vehicle and intends on using it on someone rather than use the court process.
@@markstone1619 Maybe the Taurus Judge was named because of that line...
@@kevincaruthers5412 That line is older than dirt and has been used (especially by country folk) for countless decades, so it's no secret the Taurus Judge took it's name from that line's meaning.
I hooked up with a woman I haven't seen in 35 years. Her husband abused her for 20 yrs. I always thought that they were the perfect couple. She's mine now. I rub her back before we go to sleep. I hug her and kiss her every day I show up at her house. I tell her everytime how special she is. The biggest coward is a man that hits a woman. This was a great reaction
Your a good man.... shes lucky.
@@deborahgross1045 thank you for that, but I'm the lucky one
this made me sad but also my heart melt🥹
You're an amazing man. Thank you for being one of the good ones. Much love.❤
Awe!! My man is the same! We were friends for a long time and he treats me like a princess lol!
I'm a survivor. This hits hard. My elderly father was a crack shot. He didn't miss what he aimed at. But I never told him what my ex husband did to me. I remarried and am safe. But finally after my father died and I was safe, I told my brothers what happened. After absorbing the info., both said they understood why I was quiet because Daddy would have killed him. I'd have been the girl waiting in the truck. Thank you for your reaction!
No woman should EVER have to live in fear like you did!!! I have three girls, and the fact that you went through this makes my blood boil!!! That is not a man, it is a cowardly monster! I am sorry for what you had to go through.
No man deserves to have his home invaded and to be murdered in cold blood! She could easily have called the police and gotten a restraining order! LET THE JUSTICE SYSTEM HANDLE IT!
I am happy that you are safe now. I’m a survivor also. I think I cried most of the day after listening to that song. Definitely powerful. I am also safe now. That is definitely no way to live. Sad part is while I was going through it it’s like you make up every excuse as to why you stay or you make excuses for why he is the way he is, it’s not until now when I look back and I can’t believe I stayed for as long as I did. ❤
It wouldn’t have been my daddy, he’s a little more calm, it would have been my cousins. Two of them especially. I’m so glad you got out of that situation.
A woman is made to love , hold , protect , adore and cherish. Men are suppose to be supporting, understanding and protective!!! My .02. I've fought for a total stranger ( woamn). It cost me a broken knuckle and split lip....but no man should put his hands on a woman
Beautiful story. He traded his freedom for hers. She visits him for 5 years. At the end of the video she gets into his truck and looks into the mirror. There is a cross hanging from the mirror. Faith in ourselves. Will she wait in the truck. For him? This is a deep story with beautiful lyrics matched to artful video. So well done.
It was a true story. Hardy had a friend who did 20 year's for what he did. She waited till he got out and she still had that truck and they got hitched after they dated for 2 years. Had 4 girls and are still. Married today. They live in Muscle Shoals Alabama. Good people. He is a Roadie for Hardy. I ❤ happy Endin's. Southern Justice ya'll is what we call it.
I looked everywhere to find out if this was a true story. Everything says it's not true in the interviews with Hardy himself.
Its True. Period. ❤❤
"I just threw it drive, looked in those eyes, and asked her where he was." I don't think this line gets as much attention as it should. He saw the problem, knew that there was really only one solution, and immediately decided to do it. No hesitation. No questioning himself. No regrets.
“I never thought my day of justice would come from a judge under a seat.” As a DV survivor who was traumatized again by the courts - this line hits the hardest for me. For those who don’t know, a judge is also the name of a gun.
Yes, but it also means that this man with the gun is "Judge, Jury, and Executioner" and I think that is what this REALLY means.
@@johntilghman except that gun he pulled out from under his seat is an actual gun called “the judge” it’s made by Taurus and it shoots 45 caliber or .410 shells. I guess she has never heard of an Avenging Angel. I believe he was hers!
@@oldmanballer5088 True I knew about "the judge” made by Taurus, I still think in the context of the song and metaphorically speaking that what I said was true. But unless with asked ask the writer and get the true meaning.
@@johntilghman that’s the great thing about songs, the words can have different meanings depending on who’s listening.
@@johntilghman Double meaning
I’m a wait in the truck guy. “You can easily judge the character of a man by how he treats those who can do nothing for him.” I live by that creed. I know others don’t, but I hope someone is there for my wife and children if I’m not. There was a couple coming out of a store recently yelling at each other. I stopped and when she screamed don’t touch me I was on my way. Luckily he didn’t, but I was committed.
He knew if they called the cops & the guy went to jail... he would get out eventually. Shocking story. Heroes don't always wear capes. After this heavy song, I will tell you happy news. Hardy got married yesterday. Hardy is actually his last name.
Speaking of cops; who called them, in this story? It's not unusual for gunshots to be heard in trailer parks. That rarely warrants a call to the police. Dead guys don't make phone calls. I doubt that she called. And he didn't call. I dunno; maybe the cops happened to be riding by and heard the shot?
@@magnificenthonky he probably called them himself.
Those chills that you both got after he pulled the trigger
That’s called righteousness
I straight up ugly cried the first time I heard this song. This shit hit home at 1000%
I was brought here from a reaction video I watched.... I'm a survivor of severe domestic abuse. I've had a broken spine, crushed wind pipe, broken bruised ribs, and collar bone. I've been choked out, beaten, tossed down a flight of stairs when I was 8 months pregnant, had my fair share of ICU stays and he would still manage to bail out and come back. He would do worse than before and then I was told if I reported it again I wouldn't even make it to ICU. I had been isolated from my family and friends, lived several hours away from anyone that I thought could help me. But the day the abuse was aimed at my then 9-month-old son (He picked him up and threw him at me like a rag doll) I found the courage to leave. He's the kind of person that changes the doorknobs inside out so when I would get "in trouble" I'd be locked in the room, or while he went to work. I am a firm believer that I would have been dead if I stayed any longer. My son saved my life. I believe that with all my heart. I had to wait until he was asleep, his mother helped me hide my son. I left with the clothes on my back and a backpack with any important paperwork. My siblings drove 6 hours to come to rescue me. I had to force my brother to just drive off after I got in the car and he saw that my eyes were bruised shut and I couldn't speak because my windpipe was crushed. He was so controlling that he drove out those six hours to my family's home with a shotgun to kill me and kill himself. Thankfully my father and brother were both there. This was almost 20 years ago and I still have anxiety attacks and PTSD from the physical abuse, rape, and mental trauma that I endured. But I am a Survivor. He was not a part of my child's life for many years until my son got older and never paid child support. I worked three jobs, went to school full time, became a psychologist to help others that have been through trauma, and continue to do so. I have since gotten married and had two children with the man that is "dad" to my son. HE raised him with me. HE paid for all his expenses, HE loves him as one of his own. That is what a Father should be. Sorry I got long-winded there.
❤
This video is a whole 3 minute movie. I love how you hear the screen door squeak, the music stops as he knocks, knocks again, and the music starts again. This is the perfect video to continue pulling you into the story. And then at the end, you know it is wrong but you know the dirtbag had something coming. It is really a creative genius who put this song to the video.
When country music is written right it hits deep.
Almost as deep as that .45 he sent into that feller.
Wow that was powerful. His ability to story tell was right up there with all the greats like Johnny Cash, and Merle Haggard. Those two are talented country artists. Her voice too was crystal. Gave me chills.
OMG I’ve been waiting forever for someone to properly react to this video & know exactly what he meant by “the 12 he had” and “a judge under a seat”!! Thank you both so much! Love y’all !!!
Love from Texas to both of you!
Being a survivor of domestic violence from 2 relationships this song is powerful to me. A masterpiece !
I pray for anyone that is in this situation. This hits very close to home.
My brother is on trial right now and I pray for mercy for him. The only peace I have is knowing that my niece is alive and her abuser was sent to the same place Hardy sent the guy in this song and can't hurt her anymore.
If I was on your brother's jury, I wouldn't vote to convict him. I'd hang the jury, first.
But, then, I have sisters. I have best friends with daughters. It's not a far stretch of the imagination to envision myself in a similar predicament.
@Magnificent Honky Thank you!! I am praying for someone like you to be on the jury
@@jenbaker6386 I pray your brother gets 12 that will vote like me. Sounds like he did the right thing, given the situation. He's going to need you, and the rest of the family, though. Stay strong, and y'all do what you can to keep his spirits up.
@Magnificent Honky I hope the same!! We live in a small town and very thankful for the support of our community and will continue to stand strong behind him.
The only mercy your brother needs is that of God's, he will be able to hold his head high regardless of what a court says . I won't lie vigilante justice is never justified, Vengance belongs to God alone but that is all your brother is guilty of ..taking from God what was rightfully his , but your brother knowingly and willingly risked the rest of his life on this earth to free another. His sacrifice will not go unnoticed, the Lord is just and no matter the courts decision his sin has already been paid for . I imagine when he gets to heaven God putting his hand on your brothers shoulder and saying " I know son , I'd have done the same thing " . I will pray with and for your brother , it's literally the Greek tragedy Antigone, the acknowledgment of the difference between the justice system and justice of the higher order and choosing higher order justice and suffering the inequities of the justice system as a result
Protector is what a real man is suppose to be! As a man you suppose to fight for what is yours. I treat woman the way I treat my mama, don't you ever lay your hands on what's mine! Love yall great reaction!
So this is what I found : This one is going to start a conversation that a lot of people don't want to have, but it is our job as artists to sing about things that people are scared to talk about," Wilson added. "Domestic abuse is a fragile subject, but I hope this song brings light to a situation that is more common than we'd like to admit. For the abusers, I hope this song haunts them. For the victims, I hope they know they're not alone."
The song originated with a conversation between Hardy and Hunter Phelps about what they might do if someone attacked their fiancées. Hardy suggested he would get his girlfriend, Caleigh Ryan, to show him where her attacker lives, then tell her to wait in the truck.
"We just kind of laughed," Hardy recalled to Billboard. "And then we had that songwriter moment where we looked at each other and we were like, 'Oh s--t. 'wait in the truck' is a good song title.'"
The "hook" for me is the intro... the music, itself, hits deep.
Great song all the way through.
I only discovered HARDY about two weeks ago when I first came across this very song which lead me to checking EVERYTHING he's done only to realize that he's a huge talent who's been writing an awful lot of number one songs recently. I love your reaction! If you REALLY wanna see him rock out? The song you want is "JACK"!! I PROMISE YOU WON'T REGRET IT!!
I was almost beaten to death by my ex…. My 6 yr old saved my life….this song hits on a whole different level
That stranger did more for her than my family did! This song gives me chills.
I was one of those women........... and there *are* avenging* angels...............I wish I'd had one.
Did you catch where she said, "I never thought my day of justice would come from a judge under a seat." Like the Taurus Judge
The way she looks at him afterwards when he leans up against the truck gets me everytime.
A real man will never lay a hand on his woman that he loves or any woman for that matter , justice served.
This song hits so close to home. I was a victim but nobody cared AT ALL. I need Hardy in my life fr fr💯
What you need is a gun of your own and go do your own work instead of wanting someone to lose their freedom for something you were too cowardly to do yourself. YOU would walk, the Hardy wouldn't
That chorus hit and they were like….😳😇😉😌😍😇
Country songs can be so powerful! Hardy has another one "Give Heaven Some Hell"
I just love that she’s still waiting in the truck. ❤
I've watched this over and over since I stumbled upon it yesterday. WOW! Now THIS is a country song!
This reaction should have over a million views, we all get them chills! 💯
Great reaction, love yall's expressions! ( a judge under a seat - a gun kept under a seat) I had to run with my 3 babies to save our lives, we started over with only the clothes we were wearing, the cops were no help (I tried repeatedly and they looked at my bloody busted up face and told me if did as I was told he wouldn't hit me) and after years of getting away with getting worse and worse. Every situation is different, but the constant is that no one has the right to abuse another person.
When you think about your daughter's, or nieces.... if they were in a similar situation, thank god for avenging angels.
Great reaction! And btw Mel’s hair is BEAUTIFUL! Love the blue fade.
Wow! I'd never heard this song before, and I'm not a big fan of "country" (if you want to call it that) but THIS was so powerful! Thank you for a great reaction! 💙✌
This is what country music is supposed to be. Story telling at it's finest.
@@urianthefatman8339 - One of the reasons I never liked country is because of the story-telling ... it's always something depressing. But this was great because it's real and has a great message.
You guys are my favorites. You are both so in tune with each other and the music. I don't always listen to everyone's closing statements after the song, but you two I do. If you haven't reacted to Give Heaven Some Hell by Hardy, it's another good one.
Fun little fact her saying “a judge under the seat” is actually referring the the piece he used on the guy, a Taurus judge, which is a handgun that fires 410 shotgun shells.
"It was worth the price, to see a brighter side, of the girl I picked up that night",,,,is a vastly underrated line....speaks volumes
This hits hard for me because I was buried alive when I was 6 months pregnant with my son but unlike me there's a lot of women that don't get saved this song hits home. And not knowing her to me just means that one of two things the first option being either he himself or a female in his life was abused and beaten and he made a promise to himself at a younger age if he ever had a chance to make the situation different he would or the second he could have already been looking at jail time or he's struggling with addiction and figure as well I'm already wasting my life why not and I think it comes full circle at the end because she's still waiting in the truck I'm not for murder obviously but the system has failed so many human beings restraining order doesn't do anything men and women both have died from domestic violence and assault and battery and I literally heard a police officer say well it's a lot of he say she say in cases like that so unless there's really good evidence we don't know the truth we're basically the middleman in a domestic argument yes literally and I love the detail in the line the judge up underneath the seat for most people that don't know guns there is a revolver called The Judge love y'all's reaction
I can't stop listening to this song ~as a Domestic Violence survivor ( I had to pack up my truck and flew my Brother and Sister into AZ to help me drive back to NY before he got back from a business trip
We need Men like this more than ever. Men willing to stand up for what’s right and people that need protection. Good song for awareness.
I am hooked on reaction videos to my favorite songs. This reaction and whole mood change when y’all realized where this song was going was EVERYTHING
I think the last “wait in the truck” was his way of asking her wait for him, and seeing she has his truck I think she’ll be there waiting when he gets out. Great song, great reaction 👍
I got chills
Your reaction for this song is the best!!! You really understand domestic violence!!! This also happens to men..let us not forget that!
When he sings "wait in the truck", it makes you yell "yessss" and fist pump. If this song makes even one abuser think twice . . .
The look on Meg's face throughout this video is priceless lol Welcome to the South mama
Just found you guys! Love ❤❤
I had requested this song about a month ago when it first came out during one of your lives. Everyone was having a good time chatting, so no one really paid attention, so I'm glad you were able to react to it
This song is so powerful, love the reaction. I've seen a few reactions on this and everyone has been just so genuine. Y'all killed it on this one.
Shawn, I saw your emotions.... Bless you. Mel, truth.... sacrifice!! For right or wrong. It’s powerful.

I’ve never heard this song before, that’s a damn good song. I’m going to have to listen to more of his stuff. Also, just found your channel, you just got a new subscriber.
I have been watching these reaction videos on this song for a couple weeks... seeing this song through someone elses eyes confirms what I know... this song is so moving... true country built upon a fantastic story. Loved your reactions.
This story line literally gave me a lump in my throat. Personally, I’ve never experienced physical abuse-but many, many friends of mine have.
Parents, teach ur children-hopefully through example. Abuse is a chain through generations that needs to be broken.
As a man who's been through abuse. This song is top shelf in my opinion. What a well constructed song about real life situations. Glad it didnt come to that in my own situation. I got out even though I loved her dearly.
I just heard this song two weeks on the radio😪

"Damn Strait" by Scotty McCreery & "Till You Can't" by Cody Johnson & "Wait In The Truck" by Hardy are IMO the 3 best country songs of 2022 & this music video may be the best country music video of the decade so far. Honestly this is what country music is supposed to be. Storytelling and a great music video to go with the story. This is the kind of country we had 99% of the time in the 70s 80s and 90s. It's become a lost form on mainstream country radio. Labels need to push more songs like this instead the dumb "Fancy Like" crap we hear most of the time on country radio these days.
All I could do is see my daughters face. Never say never because you don't know what you would do if its your child. Message is raw but situation is too.Great reaction.
Hey you two are sooo cool! You all seem like people I would like to hang out with, great job and reaction!!
I'm so happy ya'll are back. You are my favorite couple. I can relate to this song. 😩💗💗💗💗💗
He knew it was his destiny to be an avenging angel ("angel" = "messenger") when he encountered a rain storm in the middle of summer, when he got turned around in some little town, which a country boy just wouldn't do, and the lights on his truck illuminated a life dimming...cinematography and musicality of this video are beautiful and lots of symbolism, panning from his chained ankles as he walks back to a cell, to her bell-bottom ankles free to leave not only the jail, but every prison the "victim" had chained her to. The judge on the seat in the courtroom was only there to mete out the state's position on the incident, but the "judge" under the seat of the truck, a Taurus 4510TKR a five-shot revolver, nicknamed the Judge, was there to mete out "country justice". The avenger could have run, but he was the one who called the cops and waited for them to arrive. Best to both of you and all who arrive at your channel. :)
❣️❣️❣️🙏🙏
I had been wondering about the choice of those "bell bottom" pants for a while. Like something felt deliberate but I didn't really give it enough thought. Thanks for scratching that itch I feel every time I see those pants lol.

Another great song. Great job guys
Keep it up. Love you guys and God bless you
Incredible song and video.
This is a country music masterpiece in story telling. Got to love the feels the music and lyrics pull out of ya.
This is the first day i am hearing this song too.
Our current society doesn't punish criminals, and minimizes victims. Dude knew she would never be free if criminal survived...so justice.
This gives me chills every time I hear it.
A true representation of a man defending a woman and accepting the consequences of his actions
Thank you, great reaction, loves and peace to you! He just met her on the street, but this must have been that 'one more thing' that made him say not today Dude. IMO he ultimately saved her life. They get back out, defy no contact orders and there ya go. The dude played F around and find out one too many times! Plus the acting in this...he beat on that door with PURPOSE! I also love the no regrets look on his face at the end when she says Thank you. No regrets. He said it was worth the price. The dude likely would have gone too far and killed her eventually.
