When you have saved the cash buy gold coins either gold Britannia or sovereigns . They are a hedge against inflation and hold purchasing power. Gold was around 1500 a oz last year now sitting over 2000 a oz today . Also sovereign and Britannias are cgt free so tou dont have to report any tax when sell . Gold is liquid cash is dead theses days .
Thank you so much for watching 🥰🫶 it’s something I would definitely recommend is just to try, you’ll see the money accumulating in no time! Fresh year, best time to start! 🤭
@gill_budgets would be great if you would also do a shopping haul and how to batch cook too...I'm sure lots of people would appreciate it ...I try and purchase marked down food and buy in bulk and put in the freezer ..what I save doing that I allocate the save from shopping in my binders x
I have a question if anyone can answer it please. Totally new to this!!! If you’re taking money back to the bank how do you know what you’ve got in there and for what? Do you have to keep referring to the binders and deducting from a slip or something as you’re going? Sorry if this seems like a really silly question I’m just trying to make sense of everything in my head before I start (with January’s pay) x And with your challenges do you then reallocate the money to something or do you already choose what the money from the challenges are going to before you’re doing them? I think they look like fun but think I’d need to have something to be allocating them to before I’m completing them otherwise I’ll just have money sitting there with no clue what I’m doing with it at the end x
Hi, there are bank accounts where you can save in categories, I have a Starling account, it has 'saving spaces' - you deposit your money into the bank then you move it into a your separately named saving spaces. Monzo is another one where you can allocate your money in categories. Good luck with your cash stuffing, using cash has helped me to keep more control on spending, I love it. xx
Hey, great questions to start! Most of us would use cash as much as possible, so for me I don’t use trackers on categories I know that I will use on a weekly basis. Placeholders are used to represent money in the bank, so £50 goes into a pot in Monzo for me and I would put a card in that wallet that would represent the money. Most things are specific to what I’m saving for (for example car service, I know I need the money so I save, use what I need to, then I’ll take whatever is left over if it’s under what I’ve saved and reallocate it somewhere else). For savings challenges, it can be good to use them to save for things you know you need the money for, and it gives you a visual and a goal to complete it. Some people do this digitally and just mark off the tracker and use placeholders, others use cash. I use challenges to fund specific things, but I also use them with leftover weekly money and this year I saved them all up and reallocated them at the end of 2024 which was amazing to see. You’ll find your own rhythm with it all, so just start off slow. You’d be amazed at how many times I’ve changed the way I do my cash stuffing 🤣 I hope that answers some of your questions 🩷
@ thank you so much for responding and thank you for your help! You’ve explained it really well ☺️ I’m excited to be on this journey after keep looking at it for years! 🤞🏽 we all have an amazing 2025!!! Xx
