This show in itself was super controversial, there were a couple drivers that signed up and had no idea that this was gonna happen and had cars destroyed because of it
Yeah Gavin from itsjusta6 (the guy who brought the Tesla) said that they were told that it’d be a no-contact type of deal and they wouldn’t have to worry about getting their cars damaged. And this is after the whole original premise of the show changed so the whole organization of the show seemed weird
It's literally as scammy as it get so please call it that. They didn't want to have big insurance or liabilities. They wanted big flashy smashy chase scenes without the cost behind them. Letty being a apart of it kinda takes it home as a 'fast and furious' scam. She knows better. So they lied as much as they possibly could to anybody they could and practically stole free cars to smash.... Call it as it is. IF you don't it's GOING to happen to you because it won't ever be fixed.
seen this show before round 2000s and bring a tuned race car to a show where they crash the cars is like bringing a robot to robot wars and thinking it wont get scratched.
T-Pain is a dream client, and he is so nice of a person and was extremely patient with them. They deserve all the bad press. i would NEVER have him work on my car
Automotive journalism, finally. This is the side of you I like. Not mean, pointed. Not opinionated, factual, lining up the people who take advantage and never have to own up to or be held responsible for their wrongs. I’m no do gooder, but I have had a shop rip me off before I knew enough to have my facts, but knew I was being done wrong. I had no one to turn too and only option was get my vehicle and parts and take em home, removing the shop from the equation. They should have burned down metaphorically speaking. I had no internet, there was no UA-cam, but the community got the word out and that shop was shut down. Keep it up Alex, if you need a nw rep/intern to collect data holla.
I just hope some people can help him fix it because they straight up made his car a salvage title and tried to act like it was all good T-Pain said it well enough that his car was gonna get destroyed but he wanted to be the one to do it
Even if he does get away with this legally, his entire business depends on the car community and the enthusiasts within it. I can’t think of a single car enthusiast who’d want to work with a guy who disrespects cars that aren’t even his. Hope this spreads like wildfire
Midwest nice is VERY MUCH a thing. I had a roommate back in 2013 who's brother was really into AMG Mercedes he had 2 500 CLKS and hated his grey one but loved the black. Handed me the keys to the grey one for like 6 months till he moved out of state. Shit was insane! I flexed soooooo hard that summer! 😅😅
The end was too true, nobody trusts anybody anymore including myself. The fact that there are still people getting away with being toxic in the car community blows my mind.
Great video bud. It hit home for me because after 8 months, I STILL do not have my car... I've been nothing but nice during the whole thing but I'm beginning to loose my patience. Glad I could help you with some of the research!
Find another mechanic and pull your car up out of there!!! Grow a backbone. These people do not give a fuck about you or your vehicle. Please get your car and take it to somebody who cares. Before even going to a shop YELP the hell out of every shop in town. Find ones with damn near perfect ratings and give them a call. GO GET YOUR VEHICLE. Get it towed
i heard about this situation but knew nothing about it. my respect for t pain has grown significantly because if someone drove my car like without damaging it id have been livid. if my car was used for a tv show and smashed into like this I wouldve exploded. t pain has patience and restraint i could never match.
I'm not going to fault T-pain for mostly trying to give the guy a chance to make things right. Especially because consequences of his actions can way heavier for him compared to a regular customer. At the end of the day, a person being nice is not an excuse to take advantage of someone. Side mote. That show looked like it would have Bern super fun to do....with a beater lol
with a beater it would be fun but a race car not so fun. tpain should sue the crap out of them or atleast go to a pro bodyshop and send the bills to the other shop.
George has been on VinWiki before and sounded like a knob back then, I’m not surprised at all about this whole situation. I hope T-Pain takes some sort of legal action because otherwise George will keep this shit up.
Yeah this guy seemed dumb AF back then too. I remember him bragging about doing "DOING 6 HOURS OF ILLEGAL STREET RACING" on youtube. I mean, yeah sure buddy that's great, you ain't doing it again after bragging on youtube about it lmfao
Yeah, I saw that too. Even then he was racing customer cars on the interstate "all night" as he put it. Personally I don't believe that the cops were dumb enough to not know who it was, just not able to catch them in the cars driving. George sounds like he talks a big game but I doubt he can back up any of it. T-Pain said that he cut him slack because he felt bad for George's Dad, & was sending him into bankruptcy.
as a guy who used to work in a high end collision shop... Tpain is the DREAM CUSTOMER, super patient and understandable, we get ass hats in 458s expecting their car to be fixed in a couple of days after his kid ran over a curb.
Update from the future. I attended the Gridlife event in Lime rock yesterday and Tpain was there with the pickle rick s14 and it seemed to have been redone and fixed. He was drifting it and had it on display in the Nappy boy booth with Hert and his 240sx.
George's investment money came from his family, which he burned through and then used t pain to keep his pipe dream alive. Everybody's broke because of him, i hate it for his family, but i'm glad t pain reacted this way, what a wholesome dude that i love seeing around the atl from time to time, if you see this t ill see ya up at lanier brotha hope you get this settled out soon
Unfortunately I’ve worked around several people whom start off with mummy and daddy money …. Suck it dry - then go onto absolutely remorseless theft from everybody around them . He genuinely does fit the type
First of all... T-Pain was too nice and seems like a genuinely nice dude. That being said, I'm sure he still has enough connections, to have a cpl goons break George's hands, once he realized he was being fucked over. Second... he should've just got got Pickle Rick back and finished it with Hert and the Hoonigan guys. Third... T-Pain needs to start a UA-cam channel where he teaches other rappers how to drift.
I made a verbal agreement with George to trade FPV drone work for them fixing the front bumper, hood, rad support, and a few other things on my Miata 2+ years ago, after I completed 7 hours of flying/editing he went back on his word that we'd swap hours and like an idiot I sent $1,600 for the Miata repair which to this day still isn't done
It kind of reminds me of the whole situation with henessey. The guy literraly parted out customer cars to sell to other customers, among other things. And it didn't seem to affect his business one bit. People complained a little but that was about it
I had a similar thing with my car. Some old volvo that I spent a lot of money and hours to get in a nice road worthy condition. Some film production saw my car and wanted to rent it for their movie. Signed the papers, I showed up to the set and it's on an old air field and a bunch of super cars there. I have to leave the set and when I come back 8 hours later I see that one of the other cars they rented was ditched on the side of the road after a crash or something. I get in my car and the clutch is gone, oil everywhere in the engine bay and things are broken. They refused to take responsibility but agreed to pay for a replacement clutch cable lol. The movie still hasn't dropped and I'm waiting to see what they did to my car. But they had zero care in the world about the car.
It was definitely a mix of both T-Pain being way too nice and George for taking advantage of T-Pain's niceness. With that being said, George is still more at fault with this whole situation. At the end of the day, he had T-pain's cars, and they were in pieces. George also had the full responsibility of getting the cars fixed, as that's his entire job (at least you'd think) and what he was being paid to do.
I hate to say it but GMG will be fine. People forget incredibly quickly. Also they can just change their name if it sticks. Bad companies in the car world thrive. This is why homework and checking with previous customers is so critical.
I can't believe after messing the s14 up, he had the audacity to take it on that show knowing very well what that show was and what could happen to it!
GMG is following the same pattern as Hennessy. Anybody that is old enough to remember how Hennessy used to do their Dodge Viper customers it mirrors what happened to T Pain.

I never realized how shitty this situation was , this is so frustrating bc imagine if tpain had his cars all these recent years and how much more fun he would have had at events with his own cars. Shop was definitely unprofessional and should be ashamed as a car shop in general.
I think everybody on the internet who knows anything about drifting, the true genuine people that are involved in it and the builders of these vehicles can absolutely agree with me that T-Pain needs to get his car back and either give it to Jimmy oakes of Jimmy oakes garage or to Adam LZ (which he is already friends with the guy and has done business with him on other vehicles) and let these guy who have proper knowledge, experience, wisdom and common Sense build pickle rick properly without abusing and destroying it along the process. Never bring your car to a shop…..if you can do the work yourself…i reccommend that you do so!!! Specailty work become good friends with a mechanic and have them overlook the work if they cant do it themselves…..i built my LSA supercharged nova in my garage with a bare 6.0 block and crank, also painted it myself in my garage……lots of hours researching youtube before mustering up the actual courage to spray it !!!……but the finished product turned out awesome and i get compliments every time i take it out…….it is definitely 1 of a kind, now im building a supercharged LS ‘73 c/10 short bed fleetside in my garage and its gonna be even nicer than my nova now that im learning from previous mistakes, not to mention i already built 2 other ‘68/‘72 c10s before the nova and ‘73 c10……i sold them though cause they were long beds and i really wanted a shortbed ‘73-‘75
I feel for t currently im going through a similar situation with my insurance my scat pack has been at the dealership for at least 2 months waiting on them to approve shit but every day the dealership calls them they never answer and vis versa I’m getting to the point of just taking them to court because my patience is about gone. No shade on T-Pain, but the dude blew through his entire fortune in a few years and went into bankruptcy. We're talking a $2.5M Bugatti that he had to sell a year later for like $800K. Not exactly surprised he's a bit reckless, but even he didn't deserve this crap!
TPain is just the coolest dude. I’d love to go drifting with him one day. I’ve seen his streams (multiple hours long), I’ve never heard a single bad thing about him!
15:59 ***THAT TV SHOW WAS SOMEWHAT STAGED, BUT....*** I watched multiple episodes & never knew that was T Pains car, but didn't understand why someone would allow this to occur to their own nice car. As per staged, it was 2nd episode I believe & my background I'm vary observant of everything esp backgrounds, the veh was headed into a dead end spot w/chaser car behind, but they blended a 2nd clip of the car turning into a open street. The rules are it ur stopped or stuck w/nowhere to go u lose. So I believe they let ppl do multiple runs & edit into a single run bc no one was getting away in these episodes, but that TV I GUESS!!!??!
From what I've heard from watching the channels of some of the UA-camrs who were on the show (Tesla guy, dude with the rat truck, and the dude with the Taurus) that when they signed up for the show that they were made aware that any damage done to their car during filming Discovery is not liable for the damages and they wouldn't pay compensation to repair the cars. So this guy straight up took T Pains car and got it wrecked knowing that he was taking a major gamble. Also as a Wisconsinite we don't say Wisconsin like that! We don't say "Wiscansin"
This is insane, PickleRick was a beautiful car, gone too soon. If I understand the law, a verbal contract in the state of California is as binding as a written contract as long as it does not pertain to real property. (Cars are personal property, houses and land are real property.) I’d sue them into oblivion, but I’m not as nice as T-Pain. I hope they fix that car, the relationship is beyond repair. #savePickleRick
So my 280z got this treatment… thankfully I’m not as patient as T-Pain and went to pick it up after a year and 7 months. It was destroyed… they took an angle grinder to it to remove the paint, did a horrible job with the body work, left it sitting for 9 months like that, then put it outside in bare metal for about 3-4 weeks before I went to get it. A few months job on a handshake deal destroyed my dream build in a year and a half. Now I’m looking for another 280z and hoping this lawsuit sticks so this shop gets their due
T Pain is far too nice. I woulda sued both GMG and that tv show. I remember David from TDIB was doing videos with GMG too. I hope he wasn't dragged into this or wasn't ripped off by GMG. Man, if i were T Pain I'd be throwing hands. I would be HELLA pissed
I'd never condone harassing any business by leaving horrible 1 star reviews to tank their rating, but it is pretty crazy how easy google makes it to do. All you have to do is google a companies name.
14:13 4.6 star should be a bug on the rating if someone buys bot reviews but I saw article on it at least a year ago so I won't know if its still the same or if it was true to begin with but I am always a lot more skeptical when I see 4.6 star on ratings
This is what usually happens to regular people who don’t know much about cars at shady shops. Sucks that it happens but after watching t-pain explain and my opinion, the shops owner was keeping his car to gain recognition. By continuing to scam t-pain for money, clout, and taking advantage of his limited knowledge of working on cars to prolong the “build”. My bad if this was too much y’all but seeing what happened to bro pissed me off and that shit wasn’t even my car! Then blaming your management skills like common dawg.
That looks like someone's first attempt at a wrap, with absolutely no training. I think that mirror is a strong indicator they had absolutely no idea what they were doing. I wouldn't let that guy work on my cars, just going on the shape of his shoulders alone. The thumb thing is on point
i mean he could just generally nice person as it seems, most likely extra nice for this situation, because he doesnt wanna seem like a rich dbag which most people automatically assume since he's wealthy and famous. i wouldn't want people to feel a certain way about me when i find something fun and i want to learn and make friends in the scene as normally as possible, people do get tired of being famous all the time. from what it sounds like he's super humble this shop gmg definitely took absolute advantage of the fact probably sensing the this ,which is absolutely disgusting i'm not sure if he's only done this just to t pain because he know he has money and is a great person i'm so glad that the scene is banning together to help t pain so much, and gmg should most definitely be sued for all that money they stole from him and for taking advantage of his kindness, t pain most hi chance wasn't the first just the most famous that's probably the only reason we know about the situation. luckily he didn't let that bs bother him and he's working with some other legit companies to keep him sliding, i hope to see bro at d1 one day ripping it up!
I got a good story for you about MAP performance screwing me over on my build years ago and then suing me. They told me my car was dyno'd and would be ready to go in a wk after going months past the deadline. Only to get a phone call that their "tuner" quit and the car would have to get tuned elsewhere. They dropped it off at RS Motors via trailer and when I arrived RS said it can't be dyno'd bc it's over heating. Long story short MAP never dyno'd the car, the stage 3 head they built blew before I got it home and they sued me for a couple grand. Can we collaborate on a video of that please? Also, if I were T-pain no way in hell would I let this keep getting pushed off, but I can only imagine the things he has going on in life and his drift cars prolly aren't his highest priority.
Some years back, MAP was trying to tune Evos. They sponsored EvoM, the forum, at its highest level. This allowed them to claim virtually anything they liked. Contradict them and get banned. Seems like many in the Evo community were attracted to MAP's claims, even though it sure looked like there was zero R&D. The resulting dynographs didn't look so great.
I worked for a low rent version of George when I was young, and he's just one of those people who will slither their way out of any situation, until that one day where everything falls apart and they end up being the automotive version of the crackhead stealing scrap metal. First, that GMG guy definitely looks like the thumb bots from Spy Kids. Second, t-pain was beyond nice, idk many people with that level of patience. Third, Great job Alex, another banger!
Thanks bro! Really excited for the video i'm putting up on Monday. Please let me know what you think about it when it goes up, okay?!
@@AlexMartini. You got it brother!
@@Synthyus that's the only way I knew about that show, glad he didn't bring the gt350
@@SynthyusWoww that’s the show he took the Tesla on.. I was so lost at the type of show that’ll destroy his car like that 😂
seen this show before round 2000s and bring a tuned race car to a show where they crash the cars is like bringing a robot to robot wars and thinking it wont get scratched.
You’d think if you’re a shady shop owner you treat high profile people the best and screw the no name person but he’s terrible even at being shady 😂
Feels like what I've been through with my 996. Took my mechanic to court and won. Now the hard part is getting them to pay the $5K they owe me.
Don’t worry, T-Pain is good y’all. 🤘🏿
That is awesome to hear. Thank you for sharing man. If there's anything more you could share, that'd be sick! If not, i'm just glad he's doing good.
That’s not Midwest.
That’s spoiled brat
T-Pain is a nice person. The good thing about this is, T-Pain exposes this company through genuine niceness.
as a guy who used to work in a high end collision shop...
My fav part…😂 nobody in the car community knew about the show on discovery
I remember seeing this show for the first time and thinking "how the fuck did they get t-pain to okay this"
Turns out, they didn't🙃
T-Pain watched your video and gave a crazy update tonight on his twitch strean
Michelle Rodriguez going “NOOOOOO” is the cherry on top for me
I see an honest patient and easy going man, and much disrespect coming from the other side.
Great content btw, keep it up 🚗💥
I hate to say it but GMG will be fine.
Not only tht was also bashing his e40 and Ferrari but didn't cause as much damage
Not the thumb looking Spy Kids guy!!! I’m crying. 😂😂😂😂
Yea I watched this from beginning to end. And I was absolutely mind blown that it happened.
GMG is following the same pattern as Hennessy. Anybody that is old enough to remember how Hennessy used to do their Dodge Viper customers it mirrors what happened to T Pain.
T-Pain is too damn nice, straight up Canadian levels of "It's okay.."
We aint all that nice 😆 this shit pissed me off. I went and made a review on the Better Business Bureau page and called the dude out for being a bum 😅and its not even my car.
@@IslandLife it's hit or miss if people are nice here in Alberta lol. Also sadly the BBB doesn't really have any authority, it's just a place where people can lodge complains about shitty companies and that doesn't mean much of no one is checking it anymore it used to be super popular but not so much nowadays
@NoblePineapples true...but they pulled themselves from Google so it was the only place to review 😆
2:26 Bro was like, "If you don't get off my keyboard right this very second, I will call my Chinese friend to make a soup out of you."
I never realized how shitty this situation was , this is so frustrating bc imagine if tpain had his cars all these recent years and how much more fun he would have had at events with his own cars. Shop was definitely unprofessional and should be ashamed as a car shop in general.
tpain should sue them for everything that they got.
I thought GMG was gonna be Gas Monkey Garage 😂
I think everybody on the internet who knows anything about drifting, the true genuine people that are involved in it and the builders of these vehicles can absolutely agree with me that T-Pain needs to get his car back and either give it to Jimmy oakes of Jimmy oakes garage or to Adam LZ (which he is already friends with the guy and has done business with him on other vehicles) and let these guy who have proper knowledge, experience, wisdom and common Sense build pickle rick properly without abusing and destroying it along the process. Let's get this comment liked and get T-Pain to the right people to work on his car!
1.9 stars on google, KEEP IT GOING BROTHERS, DO IT FOR TPAIN, DO IT FOR THE COMMUNITY
T-Pain was beyond too nice.
I completely agree with you to be honest.
This happens relatively often. I can’t trust anyone to finish my projects on time. Unlike having $$ like t pain, I work very hard and not often it’s delivered.
11:43 how can Anyone look at that and say "yeah he looks like a trustworthy professional" lmao
1:58 is the cat for sale too?
Also happy new year 🎉🎉 everyone.
Your first vid I watched. I felt kinda iffy for the first couple minutes. I kept watching and definitely gave a subscribe. I own a 2dr Jeep XJ that was T boned prior to my ownernership and having a heavy dosage of OCD, it took tons of blood sweat and tears to get it right again. Really digging this channel and I can see you making it big. Just started my own detail business too. I baby my vehicles and when I drive customers vehicles I make it a point to absolutely take care of their baby in the best way I can
It’s down to a 2.5 now 🎉
Doing good work son.
Bro i saw that on the TV, too painful, i would have litigated his ass into the ground by now.
Also, gmg is down to 2.5 stars lol
Oh thank god. When I saw it they were at 4.6 and i'm like "are we serious rn?"
@@AlexMartini. they continually get the bad reviews removed. They have been notifying Google that they are getting review bombed.
‘I’ll fix your car for free’? When he’s the one that damaged the car?!
I met T-Pain in Orlando once, coolest celeb ever. We talked for 30min about cars. It's a shame he got taken advantage of.
I hope this encourages tpain to turn a wrench I think he would love working on his own stuff
I used to see T-pain all the time when I was in school in Tallahassee. He was the nicest guy in the world before but he seems even nicer somehow now. Tough to see him get played like this
I like that you continue to record even when the cat is walking all over your desk lol
No shade on T-Pain, but the dude blew through his entire fortune in a few years and went into bankruptcy. We're talking a $2.5M Bugatti that he had to sell a year later for like $800K.
Not exactly surprised he's a bit reckless, but even he didn't deserve this crap!
This is why am learning to work and build my own cars because some people are no longer trustworthy
Didn’t know about the full story, thx for making this vid
You're welcome! There's definitely more to it but tried to avoid a 40 minute video hahah
This entire situation makes me so sad that these situations even exist in the industry
Working with T-PAIN was an opportunity handed over on a SILVER PLATTER.
I like your videos 👍🏼. Quick question, what laptop are you using??
(Cars are personal property, houses and land are real property.)
I’d sue them into oblivion, but I’m not as nice as T-Pain.
That dude from GMG auto got busted for breaking into shops and race trailers in like 2005. Total scumbag.
This was straight disrespectful. It’s like he did it out of spite.
Surprised he didn't think twice about it before smashing the rear half of a car he didn't own lol.
this George was walking around at FD Atlanta like nothing happened
T Pain is far too nice. I woulda sued both GMG and that tv show. I remember David from TDIB was doing videos with GMG too. I hope he wasn't dragged into this or wasn't ripped off by GMG. Man, if i were T Pain I'd be throwing hands. I would be HELLA pissed
I'd never condone harassing any business by leaving horrible 1 star reviews to tank their rating, but it is pretty crazy how easy google makes it to do.
All you have to do is google a companies name.
I really liked this vid good job man
14:13 4.6 star should be a bug on the rating if someone buys bot reviews but I saw article on it at least a year ago so I won't know if its still the same or if it was true to begin with but I am always a lot more skeptical when I see 4.6 star on ratings
I live my life by this motto… “we create our own monsters.”
That Lego Porsche is sick dude
And gmg is closed down 😂😂
This dudes reaction to that video was more fake than discovery’s shows…
I am currently in a similar situation. This just reinforced what I should be doing..... going to get my property and my money back.
That Hasagawa backpack looks way to sick to let pass. Just ordered one
I don't deserve you
GMG had his car in the shop so long, that his pickle Rick livery became a dead meme.
8:20 don't forget T Pain was texted saying his Ferrari was basically on two wheels in the parking lot, getting thrashed!
I'm sorry Pain... you're so nice. You don't deserve this. Can't wait to see what you do with pickle Rick next!
What they suing you for?
@@cuongly523probably not coughing up the money to MAP
Some years back, MAP was trying to tune Evos. They sponsored EvoM, the forum, at its highest level. This allowed them to claim virtually anything they liked. Contradict them and get banned. Seems like many in the Evo community were attracted to MAP's claims, even though it sure looked like there was zero R&D. The resulting dynographs didn't look so great.
The cat.. your nose sniff.. you good? Accept the cat didn't do the booty shake butt holy lol
Clean up your act bro
Nobody understands u
This was such a fun show !
I worked for a low rent version of George when I was young, and he's just one of those people who will slither their way out of any situation, until that one day where everything falls apart and they end up being the automotive version of the crackhead stealing scrap metal. It's sad but all too common, Tpain hopefully has learned from this and will get everything in writing from now on, and hopefully he's also learned that loaning your stuff out is just one step from giving it away, because people don't care when it's not their money involved.
Every time gmg was on vinwiki was nothing but bullshit stories 😂😂
