Hey everyone! Hope you enjoyed the video 🤙🏼
Let me know what you’re training for over the winter in the comments down below ⬇️
I have no clue how people do this! It’s amazing, I struggle to run 1.5miles in 15 mins😔 running has never been my strong suit but I love the videos and inspires me to carry on!🔥❤️
We all start somewhere! Great to hear thank you!
While we are going into summer here in the Southern Hemisphere, I personally took a lot out of this in the "keep doing what you don't want to do" mentality to lead to some life gains. Thanks Fergus.
Awesome to hear man thanks for the comment!
I really appreciate your candidness when it comes to mental health. Thrashing myself with exercise is the glue that keeps my brain together too
Amazing shots, perfect music, the best Wintering Episode so far!
Edit: I'm training for a general base fitness this winter. Regular long swimming sessions, a few runs but not that many and stength at end-ranges to get better mobility and flexibility.
Appreciate that thank you!
Great video as always mate, love the content,
Idea for a video… how you deal with the Dom’s / fatigue in your legs a few days after a long run but needing to squat early in the week? 50k Saturday, can’t imagine squatting on Monday would be to much fun 😅😎
Grin and bear it for the most part 😂 (but acknowledge the fatigue incurred and programme accordingly)!
Brilliant Content 👍 Well Done Fergus 👏 I am so inspired. I am in base periodization which is less about timings , form or PBs. It's just brutal! I am 43 and last Christmas 🌲 I was pushing on 14 stone of fat. My training is over six days because I am dad so I have to be cunning with my time. Monday weighted vest run and some light all over strength training. Tuesday run to work 11k, Pull session and another 11k to get home. Wednesday Leg Day with some days doing swimming. Thursday 11k to work , push Session and 11k back home. Friday Weighted vest run or rest depending on fatigueness. Saturday long run 1 hour 30 minutes. Sunday Rest Day yoga
Awesome man keep it up!
Inspiring stuff, love your approach to training and find your videos very insightful. Have been playing with some longer runs stuff since lockdowns - can’t beat taking the dog out and getting some miles in the legs. Love the challenges you set and hats off for being open - keep up the awesome content mate.
Love the content and a great watch as always Fergus.
Really relate to how much more resilient I am & mentally stronger having put in the hours with just myself & my thoughts during endurance training.
Look forward to seeing what the next challenge is gonna be!!
What shorts you donning here fergus? Look mad comfy 🙌🏼
Great video Fegus, I totally agree with you that endurance training provides a opportunity to do some reflective thinking and learn a little more about your inner-self.
I ran 46KM in 5:50 during June, but it took me an hour to recover from leg cramps. Where as you still looked very fresh after your 50Km.
Great work Keri! Thanks for watching!
Great video man, been loving the series!
Also working on building my endurance at the moment to get myself ready for some races / events for next year.
Excited to hear what the event is, I'm sure you'll smash it either way 💪
Thanks man, appreciate it! Best of luck with your training!
Life lesson mate, congrats! You're inspiring lots of people 🙏🏼🙌🏼
Appreciate that, thank you!
Love the vid, inspirational stuff 👍🏼
Thank you! Appreciate it!
Just started running again. Hoping to get a 50km done before summer. This shows I've got some training to do
Best of luck with your training my man!
Full week of training video?
Soon come 👊🏼
Thanks for your honesty
Thanks for watching!
I’m back running after 18 months off, got a half marathon in March so building the miles up
Good stuff my man, best of luck!
I'm training for my first marathon... wish me luck :D
Hi Fergus, would love to see more about pacing strategy. relative to HR.
Thanks
Will talk more about this soon enough mate! Thanks for watching!
Thanks Fergus. Keep up the good work. The candidness and transparency is a big part of why I personally enjoy your content. And I can draw parallels with my own training and mind set. I have a 100 miler booked for may and yourself and David Goggins serve as motivation for me… please recognise that comparison with DG is the highest compliment I can give.
Regards
Adam
Love your work bro, when are the new omnia programs likely to drop in particular the hybrid 50k?
Thank you! All due early December!
@@ferguscrawley95 awesome !!! Thanks ! Really looking forward to it! Keep up the insane work that you do ! Take care stay safe.
Appreciate the videos! I am inspired by your story, and was hoping to hear more about it! November is Men's Health month and mental health is CONSTANTLY overlooked! Keep up the good work man!
Thanks man appreciate that! Too right 👊🏼
Hey Fergus have you done a video on your running shoes? If not would you mind putting a quick one together? I stupidly ran a half marathon in Adidas boosts and my knees were in agony, looking for recommendations on a good long distance shoe
This video covers all my opinions/views on shoes my man: ua-cam.com/video/q3O5tVqkH98/v-deo.html
@@ferguscrawley95 legend, cheers!
U remind of Howard from the mighty boosh
😂 is that a good thing?
Yeah haha well it's not a bad thing, have a search for Howard moon
You didn't do the wintering intro on this one!
Straight to the point this time haha (incredibly fast edit and we forgot 😂)
My guess for the potential event is “Race the sun”
I see how you got here… But not this time 👀
What shoes did you wear on this one, friend? Also.. what do you recommend as far as base layering goes? I see you’re just wearing a compression LS.. do you ever wear thermal? Or pants? Interested to hear your opinion
Altra Torins here my man. This was a thermal base layer, albeit a thin one, and very rarely wear thermal pants unless I'm hiking/moving really slowly.
I was listening to Ryan Holiday's Ego is the Enemy just before watching this!
Timing is 🔑
awesome video cheers for the insight I am currently training for the welsh 1000. my training is going well a mix between road, trail, and weights at the gym which is all paying off I recently completed the ultra tour of Edinburgh with no injuries or cramp which I was very surprised
I find your videos helpful so thank you for them keep up the amazing work see you on the next video
Great to hear Lesley thank you! Best of luck with your training!
Love the scenery and music in this one.
Great video loved it
Amazing as always, I cant believe you can say so many great things, in one take, after a 50k run . Always a pleasure to hear your thoughts.
Haha thank you! Didn’t feel all that coherent at the time but came out well!
I have started watching your videos and find them really useful for both my running and mental health, i am not the fastest runner but enjoy getting out on the hills for long slow runs. Thanks for this series so far and keep up the good work
Great to hear! Thanks for watching!
Whats the recovery plan after something like this?
Eat back 90% of the calories, and go again. This wasn’t an ‘event’ of any sorts, simple a training run - but my volume next week across disciplines accounts for the work being done on my feet at weekends at the moment!
@@ferguscrawley95 thank you for the reply fergus. My current focus is working out how to recover, effectively and as quickly possible. Big goals set for next year!!
Enjoying your content!!!!!
Great shift💪🏻
Thanks man!
Incredibly inspiring. Thank you Fergus
Love your honesty around mental health, fantastic Fergus 👏
Great channel. I too have decided to mix weights and endurance training. I enjoy both so why not. I'm still going strong at 48.
Endurance running save my life .
I was going to do something very silly one day . Had made my mind up ( one of the very many times)
And I didn’t because I’d a run planned with a good friend.
He came to my house seen the state I was in and the recovery started from there.
great vid and channel, just what I need before an early run tomorrow, thanks for sharing mate
Love your videos!
Any stuff on mobility / stretching?
Great pace on your 50km, amazing effort. Really enjoying your Wintering series, looking forward to more content like this!
Thank you! Appreciate it!
Anothe great video Fergus. As a former bodybuilder training for a 100 miler next year, your channel really resonates. Your balance of strength and endurance is so impressive!
Awesome to hear mate thank you! Best of luck with your training!
Couldn’t agree more with the endurance element! When I played other sports the thought of going for a run longer than a mile was something I couldn’t imagine nor see the point! The running / hiking I do on a weekend makes me such a better person and driven during the week.
Also at the age of 37 my first marathon is in April...2 years after going for a run I couldn’t finish a kilometre with my daughter!
Great to hear Peter! Thanks for watching!
Looking forward to hearing what the challenge could be, keep up the epic content and informative videos Fergus
Thank you my man!
Currently training only powerlifting style training trying to gain muscle mass but gonna get start with some endurance training soon. Any tips on how to think about the ideal weight I should aim to be at balancing strength and endurance?
Would need much more context to be able to comment effectively here I’m afraid! Best of luck with your training!
I can't believe that top is discontinued!! I seriously paused the video to go order that shirt. ☹️
The new Apex range is just as sick! Fear not!
Great series and video for the season.
Q: during those brutal cold days, do you have a go-to indoor pool workout?
Thanks for watching! I don’t have any ‘go-to’ workouts for anything as all sessions always have a clear intent and purpose - if you’re after some simple swim sets to do then there’s loads of awesome resources online!
Great series Fergus. Really enjoying it and getting a lot from it. Thank you
Thanks Des!
You're the man, Fergus! Super inspiring content as always!
Thanks Gareth, appreciate it!
Unreal work! Love the mindset and this just being a training run, hope to get to your level one day. Class stuff
Thank you sir - appreciate it!
Fergus should have wayyyyyyyyyy moreeee subscribes.
Cheers man 👊🏼
Casual 50km training run! Love it ✌
Haha didn’t feel so casual at points - thanks man!
💯💪💯
👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼
Hi Fergus, hope you’re well! I was wondering if I’m training for a trail ultra next September should all of my long runs be with elevation? Or can I do some on roads?
A mix of both is all good, as long as you are adapting to trails and elevation then simple focused tempo work/long runs etc on roads will carry over well!
@@ferguscrawley95 Thank you so much for your reply, absolutely love the channel also ❤️
Inspirational! 😍💪
Thanks Tomas!
11:22 was gold 😂
😂😂😂
Was a good life lesson. Made me want to attempt my first 10k run
Awesome! How did it go?
@@ferguscrawley95 Not great. Ended up injuring my knee at work then got the flu so still not done it yet.
Loving the content as always! Training for me is so important, it helps me to switch off and clear my head. I like variety in my training these days from CrossFit, running, biking, strength training. Keep up the good work, you are very inspiring 🙌🏻
Thanks Donna, appreciate it!
