had some asking about a one time donation, you can so this via UA-cams feature superthanks - should be an love heart icon saying 'thanks'
cheers :)
Netherlands is a goldmine, no real nature exists here. Especially in the north where I live. 😩 If you end up coming here for something make sure to hit me up and I will help you out with filming, it'd be a fun collaboration!
Yup, so many interesting project in Holland - I've been researching these, as this could very likely be one of the first stops.
@@LeaveCurious The Netherlands, please, only the two western provinces are called (North and South) Holland, the other ten aren’t. It’s like calling the whole of the UK England.
Waar woon jij Friesland of Groningen ik in Friesland dorpje naast Joure
@@kellydalstok8900 chill out pls, I’m Dutch and I couldn’t care less if you say Holland or The Netherlands. Hup Holland Hup
@@LeaveCurious Cool, I would also really enjoy videos from the Netherlands!
Switzerland is in the process of restoring/rewilding it's rivers at the moment, since it leads to less flooding and is healthier for the environment. Maybe you could visit one of these projectsites.
would love to, Switzerland is a likely country on the journey
May God bless your every endeavor, Rob.
If my dear wife gets a job soon, I will plan on remembering you and pitching in because your efforts to make this planet a healthier and more sustainable environment for all people are efforts that the human race ought to appreciate. I pray that God will help you to keep doing what you do.
Best of luck in your very exciting adventure!!⭐
Thank you very much!!!
Come to Norway and take a look at the balance between conservation and new road building. Lots of content available here.
yeah would love to visit Norway again and focus on making videos!
@@LeaveCurious Always welcome, just give us a shout
Very true my sister lives in Norway and they've had Wolves turn up in her area for the first time, in what seems like forever
This is awesome! 🍃🌳So excited to be here for the journey!
Rob, plant nerd from Oregon, USA here. Best of luck from across the pond, my friend! Love your videos, and I can’t wait to see all of the good you’ll do for ecosystems across Europe.
Done. Best of luck with your endeavors, I'm curious to see what the future has in store for you and your channel. Cheers!
ah thank you very much! your support is everything.
Your enthusiasm is contagious. Whatever stories you're telling I'll be here to listen.
As somebody that lives in a 7.5T campervan/truck so that I can be close to work and not commute. Its a game changer, and a great off grid office, and with less fuel and mainly solar power very environmental too even in a big truck, if you are not going too far each week, its a sustainable way to live.
Amazing lush green garden you have. Sounds amazing. Great ideas. People need educating and it's so important for future generations, of which you were and are one. Such important work you are doing while balacing your family and following your dreams. Great admiration. ❤
Sounds amazing!!!! Cant wait to see all the great changes!!
Exciting stuff Rob. You are welcome to look at ideas in my corner of North Essex
Super exciting🤗🌾❣️
So excited for this! We are all with you along the way
ah awesome, love the support!
It's funny you mentioned the three to four documentaries a year, that is exactly what I do and it would be nigh on impossible without a van, my wife and I built our own for the exact reason you mentioned, its a home on wheels and enables us to be where a story is for longer than a day or two and to be far more comfortable than we would in a car.
If you need any help at all with the build out or any advice on living in a van and documenting stories just send me an email, would be happy to help wherever we can.
yeah it seems super important for this kind of work. appreciate it thanks dude - ill have to give your docs a watch!
this is so exciting Rob.. i've become a member to follow the story.... if you're ever in the S of France let me know!!!
That’s awesome Anton thank you so much mate! You know I will!
Aim for Finland. I’m planning to get new hiking gear - can follow you a bit, literally, as well.
Good luck Rob. I have a VW Caddy which I use to go camping in. Saves me a lot of money in accommodation fees when I travel about Scotland. Planning to renovate it at some point once I’ve finished renovating my new house!
Love Leave Curious and your energy! Would love to see you come up to the Outer Hebrides some time - we need more trees! Good luck with the new project!
I have been following this channel for quite some time now, and I personally enjoyed the format of what has been covered thus far! Hopefully you are able to achieve what you want for your channel though! With that said, I will continue supporting the channel as much as I can! Take care!
Sounds exciting Rob!
Thanks Paul, it will be exciting for sure!
Thanks for bringing attention to important conversation efforts. Your passion is needed now more than ever!
I cant wait to see this come into fruition, wishing you all the luck Rob!
That’s wonderful.. I’m happy, for you AND especially for your family. You do wonderful work. I pray your tip bucket overflows with donors.. keep up the good work.
This is wonderful news! Wish you the very best of luck! Atm (still at university) we can only do our best to help you with food for the day so will do that ofc. (Van life is amazing, lived in an old volkwagen vw bus all summers as a child and we loved it! We also had a tent to put up when we stayed a bit longer somewhere)
Your enthusiasm thrills me!
Thanks! Wish it could be more to help your family but we’re seniors. Will help as we can. Great job, btw.
Thanks!
Hell yeah dude, looking forward to seeing more international content!
Sounds like a huge new chapter for your channel
Good luck on your journey!
thanks man, appreciate it!
Lots of stuff happening in Australia, but nobody outside of this country taking much notice. I'm running one myself.
What are you running? Funnily enough just uploaded a video on the Wollemi pines
Hope you're able to come to the US. I really enjoy your content.
The late Oliver Rackham wrote classics on landscape history. It would be nice to take his work as an occasional theme where it overlaps with rewilding and regeneration.
I have had a Wollemi Pine for a couple of years now. Get in touch if you need to.
Got get 'em! This is really cool and I'm excited for you.
thanks, fair bit to sort out but we'll make it happen!
This sounds really exciting Rob, can’t wait to see what you get up to.
thanks Philip!!
Super exciting, I hope this all works out! Even just in the UK you've managed to consistently put out really interesting videos so traveling the world would be amazing to see
Such a interesting idea, I wish all the good luck to you , buddy. I'm sure it would be successful
ah cheers mate :)
you guys are so underrated. ready for this!
thank you :)
Somes sensible, good luck 🍀
Really great idea , I love what you do and would love to do it myself, so I'll do what I can to support in the near future
Thanks Oli!!
I have been a member for some time. I would rather not deal with Patreon, but I love what you do. I live on a boat - and have been doing so for half a century - life in a van will be similar but, sadly, with a rather large footprint. I hope one day you'll be able to trade up to an electric one! Good luck.
I know you have Annie, thank you for your ongoing support! Yeah hopefully the messages of the videos far out weigh the footprint of the project 🙏
Get down to somerset. Heal rewilding and a few other land owners in the area doing some great work.
You are so dedicated and always thinking of how to improve everything
yes still a lot more to do, but grateful for the progress so far :)
I live in Coastal BC, where many of the trees used in conifer plantations in the UK originate. Species like Sitka Spruce, Douglas Fir, Western Hemlock, and western Red Cedar. I realize coming here would be unrealistic but let me know if I can help provide some B role of said plants in their natural environments!
Cheers
Yeah it be cool to see these trees in their native habitat, rather than dead regimented rows… thanks for the broll shout!
You might want to consider a crowdfunding along with the membership. Im not a member type of person but would like to chip in for the van for example.
Yeah this is a good point. If you wanted to chip in, you can do this through super thanks here on UA-cam! Thanks 🙏
You're welcome to come stay at my place in Alberta, Canada. (I suggest the summer June to early September)
Whatever you sat cutie, I'll agree with everything you said
There is a greenspace (previously golf course) in the west midlands thats been on the news been fighting over it for sometime for like 6 years now against the council i would really apreciate it if you could do a segment on it!
Of course if you are too busy i get it anyway, i sent a email to you before with the details incase you are interested just anyone whonis enviromental that ive contacted doesnt seem to have the time which sucks, thanks for all you do though i love these videos! ❤
I was hoping for rebrand to Leaf Curious. Very exciting news tho and I can't wait to see more brilliant, beautifully positive videos from you! As soon as I have some money I'll be joining
Ahhh you know I should have just done Leaf curious from the outset…. Maybe in the future! & thank you very much!
@@LeaveCurious eh, leaf curious just sounds like tree education. Which is nice but more limited than your channel actually is
good luck
good luck mate
thanks Morgan!!
Wanna come to frankonia in bavaria? I will have you covered! Biotopes and you can use my weekend home as a short time base
Sounds awesome. A horse and cart could be cheaper?!
Sorry, I can't support on Patreon but happy to give a one off. Thanks.
I think this is a fantastic idea! There are so many fantastic wilding sites just over the horizon that you will be able to get to with a van.
It sounds very much like the set up for James Shooter for his fantastic Rewiling Podcast. May be someone to ask a few pointers of!
With his 1st season coming to an end Leave Curious on the road could be just what I need!
Yeah I’d been meaning to chat to James for ages! He’s done a really cool thing. Thanks mate!
Come to Brazil!
I'd love to, what a place to make videos!
So to be clear you'd be taking the whole family? Because I was like "wait doesn't this guy have kids" cause it sounded like a setup with more time spent away at once. and then you cited the as a reason for wanting the van. What would you do during the school year? Anyway, I hope it works out! Would love to see more places etc!
Yes taking the family & more time away at once. Kids are very young so no worries about school for a few years!
Could you come to southern Brazil?
that would be an amazing trip, certainly some day!
Wonder if you can convert am electric Truck like a Ford Transit? Travelling around Europe as a Brit is not too easy!! Restricted to 90 days at a time out of 180 days!
Love this for you but unfortunately im out of work. I hope we can get you enough to get an electric one and some omnidirectionial wind turbines.
an electric van would be great! thanks mate!
🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼
Come to Ireland mate
would love to, where abouts?
joined.
amazing, thank you so much!
Immaculate thumbnail
Haha I wanted to keep this one raw & to the point
Just an idea here, have you considered partnering with like-minded people along the way of your reporting and story coverage areas? By branching out and including their voices and contributions, you can become a collaborative effort with these additional people collecting stories and content, which they can then submit to you for editing for the channel. Think of them as colleague correspondents/reporters. By doing this instead of your idea - you might reach greater audiences and have a greater impact overall. Plus added benefit of family focus, enhanced content, inclusion and broader outreach.
Yep! This is something I’ve thought long and hard about, very nearly did. It has its challenges but great opportunities. Ultimately needs testing!
this is such a great idea. but perhaps it's not a case of 'instead', perhaps it's a case of doing both. as you meet people and orgs on your travels and you introduce them to us, perhaps they could supply you with update stories so we can keep in contact with their progress.
Love the idea of update stories from people he meets along the way @@antonxavier1! By doing it that way we'd be introduced to them through the original video, but maybe get a short update interspersed throughout later videos to keep the story going :)
Can't join, but would like to make a one-time/occasional donation as funds permit. How can I make a one-time donation?
You can do this via UA-cam, it’s called super thanks !
Speak to Alex Frood about your van, he’s made one on his UA-cam channel Mispronounced Adventures.
What size van are you looking at, and do you have the driving licence for it?
Can we do a one off donation?
Something relatively small & yes got the license. To make a one time donation you can use super thanks here on UA-cam !
t
id love to volunteer for you! this is exactly what i want to do too! I'll send you an email :) looking forward to watching the journey
If your looking for a free place to stay in your van overnight. I have 1.3 acres of land I would be happy for you to enjoy overnight
Ye why are no tall trees planted. Why more messy places encouraged to grow.
Most start as tiny seeds in messy places.
