Is MBBS worth it now? - My Opinion From Experience
Вставка
- Опубліковано 8 лют 2025
- Every NEET Aspirant and their parent has this question, “Is MBBS worth it?”. I never got a chance to think about this when I joined the rat race. But I wanted my juniors to get some guidance from someone inside the field. So, here I am talking about this topic.
My views might be controversial but I am talking from my experiences and observations. I could be wrong and I accept that too.
I hope this video helps you in some way. Just take it as an opinion only. Don’t take it as the final word.

75000 new mbbs seats in next 5 years which means 2 lakhs mbbs graduates per year. India tfr is declining exponentially. In south india mbbs doctors are already superstaturated.this is not a good sign. Mbbs may be the new btech. And there is slow shift towards Ayush medicines
If Money is the thing. It comes from the caliber of a person, a management guy or lets say businessman focuses on providing solution to problems or values, where currency exchanges are high...But when it comes to thing like this, why student fight on this simple topic like (doc vs engineers)???? If a doctor or engineer is earning more then it is due to their management team working on the business(everyone is special on work). Mine story(Nepal): we were three friends(not close except one) who studied on same school, after 12 I decided to choose CS field. The other one(he) went to Australia for study. The other one(she) opened her decor shop and event management firm(there was no any shop like that on that area).....Its been 5 years since, I am quite content with small salary I have. One who went australia came 6months ago to his hometown and ofcourse we met, he revealed his net worth was around 70lcs(came from work outside the college and now job). The one with decor firm has scaled her business and she also have collected decent amount. So Moral is focus on improving yourself, rather than discussing on hypothetical reasonings, even dolly chaiwala is a brand now which he never thought. (This video came on my feed, so I wrote this)

Senior consultant: atleast ₹1.5L+
Radiologists, Neurologists, Plastic Surgeons, Cardiologists and ctvs surgeons, orthopaedics, paediatricians are among the highest earners in India.
One doctor whom I know is a plastic surgeon with fellowship from a foreign country earns over ₹5L per month.
PS: I did extensive research, sometimes asked personally to gather this data and it can be wrong too.
If money is a corncern then a doctor will atleast not die of poverty and joblesness. Infact doctors will always be in demand due to reducing health of people especially those engineers doing deskjobs infront of screens all day. People at just 40 age today are diabetic, have cardiac issues and atleast knee joint problems and every house has got atleast one patient and things will only get worse in future. Doctor is only such profession that cant ve replaced by AI either as only a fool will trust a machine for his life. If money is a concern then doctors earn plenty.
One drawback is that it is a really long course of study and those who want early settlement, family and good time in had to explore their other hobbies will regret getting inside this field. Those who dont care about luxuries and are naturally empathetic will love this. Also, one must be ready to work hard until 35-40 years age and from there on his life will be atleast financially pretty stable. Those who are ating its not worth it either want to earn more or are really tired and frustrated and it is understood, you need strong mental health to become a dcotor as you will witness deaths or extremely wounded people almost everyday if you are posted in trauma centre atleast. I personally love this profession not for money though.
Yes. That's what is told in the video.

Let me just tell you, mbbs is not worth it if you are doing it for money or under pressure, you have to study the whole time for 12 years, if you are a average student you won't have a good social life, no personal life, your health will be affected if you don't sleep properly for 12 years, if you can study tens of books for one subject and remember it then it will be good, but study is a lot harder
