Feel it. I felt the same when Chester passed as well. I got into Slipknot when I heard their first album back in 1999, I'm now 28 and it just seems surreal to me that all my idols that I've stuck with since childhood are disappearing. Just am hurt by everything and hope nothing but the best for Slipknot and everyone who personally knew Joey.

I haven't been a huge Slipknot fan. Not because I didn't like them, I just never had interest in many of their songs. Before I Forget was the first song I really enjoyed. With that said, a friend gave me a copy of WANYK, and let me tell you, this album is epic.
A Liar's Funeral specifically is absolute art. The soft intro, the condescending lyrics, the slow burn of the first verse. And then the blood-curdling scream to set the tone for the rest of the track accompanied by a wailing guitar, as if the man and the music were both crying out. Then the pounding of the drums along with the deep and heavy demands from the speaker. Every bit of the spoken words, no matter how soft or how powerful, leavs a lasting memory, all the way to the last few lines of "you're wasting all the candles, the dead need no light". And then those last three screams, especially the final "LIAR", just send chills down my spine.

It’s brutal and relentless but this album isn’t trying to be that. This is something else completely different and I love it. Yeah.. honestly. Iowa is sick, but true fans learn to appreciate all the aspects and facets of this band and what they produce. Or at least try to.

This was the first Slipknot song I heard. I was 13 when I was going through a bad time and a cousin of mine told me that metal healed, but I couldn't remember any band other than the "Men with the Scary Masks". I remembered their name and googled "Slipknot Greatest Hits" and completely fell in love. Thank you Slipknot for being my "gateway" to Metal and you will always have a special place in my heart.
