Personally, I rate them in relation to He-Man's character as it's portrayed throughout the series. Secondly there is a certain voice that fits this character. Thirdly, there is the dramatic inflection, accentuation and delivery of the lines. I grew up with the Mexican version where the song has lyrics/singing on the background. I speak English and German proficiently so I am attuned to nuances in tone for those versions as well. With my background I also understand Portuguese and Italian fairly well, and French, Swedish, Norwegian and Danish to a lesser degree. The original version in American English is solid but does not convey the bravado that other versions do, which is essential to the character. Plus the slight southern drawl takes away from the authority of the monologue as delivered in other versions. Also, you can tell it's an older man who does the dubbing, which is an odd contrast to the character's "powerful man in his prime" foundation. The first Mexican version does an incredible job at nailing all these criteria. The baritone voice quality is there, the authority, the dramatic delivery is there, and in full effect. It's a rather extraordinary offering in its power and sets the bar quite high for all other versions to measure up against. Next is the first German version. The voice is right. It begins with a cool tone to it and is authority reaches peak when he yells "Bei der Macht von Greyskull! Ich habe die Zauberkraft!" It's just great. My next favorite is the Russian version. Although I only know a few basic words which I was able to pick up, the voice is perfect and the dramatic inflection is also on point where it's expected. The authority is palpable. Remarkably strong version. Next is the Brazilian version. Solid on all fronts. Especially on "Eu tenho a Força!" Then it's the Slovenian version. Solid as well. Perhaps it's a tie with the Brazilian as Slovenian has a more serious, steady cadence, where Brazilian Portuguese has a bouncy fluctuation of tone that is hard to regulate. They did have a rather silly slip when they left the moment where his voice cracks (Princ iz Eternia) as they could have easily just redone that line. After that there's the Scandinavians. Swedish is the best in my opinion. There's a loss of emotion in comparison to the ones I've mentioned so far but it is still good enough. The Norwegian version is a bit spooky in its spectral quality and dramatic delivery, but I'll take overly dramatic as opposed to emotionless. The Danish version is good but lacks emotion in some crucial places. That's as far as I go with acceptable versions. If your native language is Spanish (and you're not a Spaniard) then Spanish from Spain will always sound a bit pompous to you, thus rendering it comical to a certain degree. This version does not attempt to rid itself from this quality nor to ameliorate it, which I feel it could have been done by getting someone with a deeper voice for example. Then we have the Italian version: it's a bit over the top to begin with, and when he says "Per la Forza di Greyskull - la grande Forza è con me" the whole thing just turns comical. The French version also lacks in authority and seriousness, but I'd wager anyone who isn't French just perceives its essential attributes as pompous so, nothing that can be done about that. Now we are left with the plain bad ones, or just sad ones. The Polish version is by far the worst. First they (and it's fairly common as I learned while in Poland) overdub with the original audio track in the background. That's just a nightmare. Then he just reads off the lines with zero emotion. The Greek and Finnish versions are just wrong. Wrong voice, wrong everything. It's been cool seeing that this compilation has been widely enjoyed and I in turn have really enjoyed all your comments. I'm really interested in enhancing it so if anyone has further versions please send me a message so I can add them. I would love to make an ultimate compilation with all existing versions.

En portugués de Brasil, 9:00, también la voz es muy firme, pero, infelizmente, la calidad del audio para portugues brasileño estaba un poco mal, en el vídeo arriba, en otros videos en youtube tiene el audio con calidad mejor. La actuación de voz es hecha por García Junior, uno de los más grandes actores de voz en Brasil. También dio voz a Arnod Facineger en la película "Terminator", "O Exterminador do futuro" en Brasil.

The Brazilian version is second to none(despite the poor quality posted) One of the main contributions to the He-man phenomenon in Brazil . Garcia Jr, the voice actor, put so much emotion and passion on his acting. The Italian one is hilarious. You cannot take that seriously.

The Mexican version is by far the best (even surpassing the American original, in my opinion). The voice of Ruben Moya (disclaimer: he is neither a friend or a relative of mine) suits the muscle man perfectly, No offense intended towards anyone who might be reading this, but few of the other voice actors do a really good job. Also, some of the accents shown definitely do not suit the character.

My favourite is the 1st Mexican version, do you notice that they also have their own theme song in the background? the german version (1st) sounds pretty cool, the french sounds so Gay. I will rate every opening, not judging the quality of the video or its quality and no I will not be biased towards the german ones. Definitely, the mexican version is the best one without any doubt. It is accompanied by a song from Captain Memo. The other versions do not have any song that is sung by anyone. That was the actual version (mexican version) I used to watch in Puerto Rico. Actually, still at my 52, I know the lyrics of that song. Unforgettable!!!
Realmente en España los que somos de los 80 la vimos con el doblaje latino, como tantas películas de aquella época de Disney, para los españoles que la vimos en su época, el doblaje bueno era el mejicano y la intro con letra por supuesto, la serie completa se emitió en latino completa en TVE, aunque si se llegaron a doblar 24 capítulos no correlativos para su edición en vídeo (VHS). @@Retro-Future-Land If you're interested... most of the TV stuff in Poland back then didn't have professional dubbing or subtitles, just lectors - and I'm not talking only kids' cartoons, movies and all had it all the same. Some of them became really famous, to the point that their voice-over became synonymous with old movies, and major nostalgia factor for people. Fun story one of those voice-over actor told once: he was visiting a friend, and they were talking on the balcony. Suddenly, someone shouts at the from the floor below "can you turn down that bloody TV?"

I think that's part of doing voice-over? Your "voicing" every character in the movie, and since guy can't - say - do a good woman's voice, it would be weird if he switching between different voices for the characters.

Por lo tanto era doblaje latino, fue hasta los 90s qué México abrió sus propias compañías, pero notaras qué sí se sintió un cambió en la calidad de doblaje, ya podías encontrar muchas frases mexicanas comó Orale, Chale, etc.. Sobretodo en las producciones de Disney.

I like the Mexican Spanish version because they actually dubbed Spanish lyrics into the theme song. The German version also sounded pretty cool. The Italian version of He-Man is missing a moustache...i like how they extended the echo effect in the Russian Version too.

la versión española es de unos capitulos que doblaron para video , en la serie en DVD están esos capítulos doblados, lo malo aunque los actores son mejores que la versión latina la pronunciación de Grayskull (dice "grayskall" ) , para morirse XDDD
La versión mexicana no fue la primera versión, fue en inglés de U.S.A. Cuando decís superando incluso a la original en inglés, esa ya es tu opinión. Para mí todas los lenguajes te la transformación de He Man se escuchan bien la versión de sueca sí se escuchó pésima.

Fun fact: the Latin American Spanish version features a second voice singing an intro song, it was added by the translators because they thought the musical theme seemed dull without a song. In the parody version they ALSO added a background voice singing a parody of the song.
The funniest part about the comment section is all the latin americans showing their nostalgic bias to the latin spanish version while writing their opinions in english, as if perhaps trying to convince the english speakers that they're correct. Frankly I think all versions have their merits, but the ORIGINAL should be the one that is respected the most, because from that one all the others were concieved. Regardless, all praise He-Man, one of 80s' best animated series.

With my background I also understand Portuguese and Italian fairly well, and French, Swedish, Norwegian and Danish to a lesser degree.
The original version in American English is solid but does not convey the bravado that other versions do, which is essential to the character. Plus the slight southern drawl takes away from the authority of the monologue as delivered in other versions. Also, you can tell it's an older man who does the dubbing, which is an odd contrast to the character's "powerful man in his prime" foundation.
The first Mexican version does an incredible job at nailing all these criteria. The baritone voice quality is there, the authority, the dramatic delivery is there, and in full effect. It's a rather extraordinary offering in its power and sets the bar quite high for all other versions to measure up against.
Next is the first German version. The voice is right. It begins with a cool tone to it and is authority reaches peak when he yells "Bei der Macht von Greyskull! Ich habe die Zauberkraft!" It's just great.
My next favorite is the Russian version. Although I only know a few basic words which I was able to pick up, the voice is perfect and the dramatic inflection is also on point where it's expected. The authority is palpable. Remarkably strong version.
Next is the Brazilian version. Solid on all fronts. Especially on "Eu tenho a Força!"
Then it's the Slovenian version. Solid as well. Perhaps it's a tie with the Brazilian as Slovenian has a more serious, steady cadence, where Brazilian Portuguese has a bouncy fluctuation of tone that is hard to regulate. They did have a rather silly slip when they left the moment where his voice cracks (Princ iz Eternia) as they could have easily just redone that line.
After that there's the Scandinavians. Swedish is the best in my opinion. There's a loss of emotion in comparison to the ones I've mentioned so far but it is still good enough. The Norwegian version is a bit spooky in its spectral quality and dramatic delivery, but I'll take overly dramatic as opposed to emotionless. The Danish version is good but lacks emotion in some crucial places.
That's as far as I go with acceptable versions.
If your native language is Spanish (and you're not a Spaniard) then Spanish from Spain will always sound a bit pompous to you, thus rendering it comical to a certain degree. This version does not attempt to rid itself from this quality nor to ameliorate it, which I feel it could have been done by getting someone with a deeper voice for example. Then we have the Italian version: it's a bit over the top to begin with, and when he says "Per la Forza di Greyskull - la grande Forza è con me" the whole thing just turns comical. The French version also lacks in authority and seriousness, but I'd wager anyone who isn't French just perceives its essential attributes as pompous so, nothing that can be done about that.
Now we are left with the plain bad ones, or just sad ones. The Polish version is by far the worst. First they (and it's fairly common as I learned while in Poland) overdub with the original audio track in the background. That's just a nightmare. Then he just reads off the lines with zero emotion. The Greek and Finnish versions are just wrong. Wrong voice, wrong everything.
It's been cool seeing that this compilation has been widely enjoyed and I in turn have really enjoyed all your comments. I'm really interested in enhancing it so if anyone has further versions please send me a message so I can add them. I would love to make an ultimate compilation with all existing versions.

En portugués de Brasil, 9:00, también la voz es muy firme, pero, infelizmente, la calidad del audio para portugues brasileño estaba un poco mal, en el vídeo arriba, en otros videos en youtube tiene el audio con calidad mejor. La actuación de voz es hecha por García Junior, uno de los más grandes actores de voz en Brasil.

The Mexican version is by far the best (even surpassing the American original, in my opinion). The voice of Ruben Moya (disclaimer: he is neither a friend or a relative of mine) suits the muscle man perfectly, No offense intended towards anyone who might be reading this, but few of the other voice actors do a really good job. Also, some of the accents shown definitely do not suit the character.

My favourite is the 1st Mexican version, do you notice that they also have their own theme song in the background? the german version (1st) sounds pretty cool, the french sounds so Gay. Also I felt a little awkward that they included Gay versions of the intro, but glad at the same time, it made me laught.

Alright, let's see here. I am from Germany and I really like He-Man. I will rate every opening, not judging the quality of the video or its quality and no I will not be biased towards the german ones. Mind you, I only know the original english one, the old and new german one:
1 (English): Good voice actor and excellent intensity in his voice
2 (Spanish (Mexico)): Good voice actor and very nice intensity in his voice
3 (Spanish (Spain)): Good voice actor and very nice intensity in his voice (But to me it is a little bit faster than the spanish mexican
version)
4 (French): Good voice actor and very nice intensity in his voice (Really like this one actually)
5 (German 1): Sounds a little bit dull, but I dig the deep voice.
6 (Italian): He really puts his heart into He-Man's voice. I appreciate that.
7 (Russian): The first time I heard this I was like, yeah that's how it should sound. Very nice!
8 (Swedish): Clear, even though it's sounds he is in it at the beginning but after the transformation it's getting a little bit dull.
9 (Portuguese (Brazil)): Quality is kinda washed, but I dig, I dig.
10 (Polish): I can understand if you leave the original voice in and put your version over it, but it sounds weird and to put to that it sounds dull.
11 (Greek): Nice voice, but it sounds a little bit too kind.
12 (Norwegian): Man, some of this words kinda remind me of german. :D Very nice though.
13 (Slovenian): Clean and calm, putting in the right intensity once He-Man transforms.
14 (Finnish): Okay voice, the transformation sounds weird.

16 (German 2): To me it sounds Better than German 1, more intensity in every word
17 (Spanish (Mexico-Alt)) : Good, but I dig the original one much more. (Especially because of the background music :D)

Let gays do what they want to do ffs...take an example from the german version which just puts an accent to the original and a little bit of fun to it. Maybe I don't understand the joke and this is common amongst you english speakers but tbh I guess not.

Definitely, the mexican version is the best one without any doubt. It is accompanied by a song from Captain Memo. The other versions do not have any song that is sung by anyone. That was the actual version (mexican version) I used to watch in Puerto Rico. Actually, still at my 52, I know the lyrics of that song. Unforgettable!!!

Realmente en España los que somos de los 80 la vimos con el doblaje latino, como tantas películas de aquella época de Disney, para los españoles que la vimos en su época, el doblaje bueno era el mejicano y la intro con letra por supuesto, la serie completa se emitió en latino completa en TVE, aunque si se llegaron a doblar 24 capítulos no correlativos para su edición en vídeo (VHS). @@Retro-Future-Land If you're interested... most of the TV stuff in Poland back then didn't have professional dubbing or subtitles, just lectors - and I'm not talking only kids' cartoons, movies and all had it all the same. Some of them became really famous, to the point that their voice-over became synonymous with old movies, and major nostalgia factor for people.
Fun story one of those voice-over actor told once: he was visiting a friend, and they were talking on the balcony. Suddenly, someone shouts at the from the floor below "can you turn down that bloody TV?"

I think that's part of doing voice-over? Your "voicing" every character in the movie, and since guy can't - say - do a good woman's voice, it would be weird if he switching between different voices for the characters.

simplemente el doblaje MEXICANO es una obra de arte la voz digna para el hombre más poderoso del universo el tema del fondo de la canción es grandioso LE DIO VIDA A HE-MAN.
No era doblaje mexicano. Las compañías de doblaje se encontraban en Miami y Los Angeles, habían actores de todo Latinoamerica, el cantante era Chileno.

Por lo tanto era doblaje latino, fue hasta los 90s qué México abrió sus propias compañías, pero notaras qué sí se sintió un cambió en la calidad de doblaje, ya podías encontrar muchas frases mexicanas comó Orale, Chale, etc.. Sobretodo en las producciones de Disney.

The only problem is that in the Mexican version, when Adam transformers to He-Man he says "Yo soy He-man " the correct translation is "ya tengo el poder" That's the disappointing part about the Mexican version.

I like the Mexican Spanish version because they actually dubbed Spanish lyrics into the theme song. The German version also sounded pretty cool. The Italian version of He-Man is missing a moustache...i like how they extended the echo effect in the Russian Version too.
Spanish version (Mexico) the best, it has a song that every kid used to sing. skeletor in Spanish is awesome too.

Fun fact: the Latin American Spanish version features a second voice singing an intro song, it was added by the translators because they thought the musical theme seemed dull without a song. In the parody version they ALSO added a background voice singing a parody of the song.

The funniest part about the comment section is all the latin americans showing their nostalgic bias to the latin spanish version while writing their opinions in english, as if perhaps trying to convince the english speakers that they're correct. Frankly I think all versions have their merits, but the ORIGINAL should be the one that is respected the most, because from that one all the others were concieved.
Regardless, all praise He-Man, one of 80s' best animated series.
