Thank you, I'm ordering them now. I usually went with the HI-Beams but I found they were REALLY bright... Which was nice but damn I had to definitely eq it at first to take it down a notch. I think these will be a nice medium between.

I'd recommend checking out D'addario FlexSteels if you're into bright strings. They also come in a super light gauge which is fantastic for tapping and chordal stuff. They're a little rough but you get used to them quickly. Low tension, too. They don't really seem to last forever, though.

I have these on my Adam Clayton Jazz. Turns out he uses them and I figured why not give em a try. I've been gigging them for a year, and recently recorded them even. They are fantastic. They start semi-aged sounding and never seem to age beyond that. Super punchy and real clangy if I want em to. Anyway, I've been on this string journey of late and some strings are definitely best on certain types of pickups. Other examples, from my experience: EB Cobalt flatwounds with Music Man style humbuckers; La Bella Deep Talkin Bass flatwounds on a vintage Mustang pickup. Perfection.

I loved when I ordered these. They lasted a good while, nowhere near as long as the hi-beams though. They feel very consistent string to string, unlike some other brands I've tried out. I've not gone back to any other brand. Both my basses are strung up with DR's, my Hamer Slammer- Hi-Beams for that mid-range punch and low-end growl, my acoustic Ovation Applause- DR Rare acoustic strings. Love the brand.
