- Sometimes called a “natural amphetamine”, stuff this plant’s leaves in your cheek and you’ll get a jolt of energy. This is khat.

Question: if you acquire a bag of this upper, are you in possession of a kit khat? :3
😹😹😹
2:09 omg I wasn't expecting that haha
I worked with the Kenyan navy for months and they absolutely love khat
It’s seen as low status in Kenya. And only a few communities use it. The Meru tribe grow it and the Somali absolutely love it. Other tribes, not so much.
Im Luo and I love it @@kiuk_kiks
@@kiuk_kiks I want to try it now at least once. Have u ever tried this?
Your videos have been of highest of quality compared to other youtube channels! LOVE IT! AND I LEARN SO MUCH!
I used to smuggle these leaves, but then I got khat.
you let her CATCH you?
This comment should be more popular or maybe I’m just high
I don’t know how I let this happpen
How about talking about Yerba Mate next
Ok yes what the heck is yerba mate 😂
The drink company is alright, but it's such a weird name that intrigues me!
Those end bloopers!! Tasha is a weirdo after my own heart! 😂❤
That and the kitty assistant at the beginning ❤
"THATS INCREDIBLE!!!!!!" that was hilarious also nice video
came out of nowhere 😂😂😂
wtf are you talking about? lay off the khat lol
Please make this it's own channel! Floralogic would follow 💯
This plant acts and looks alot like that "Kratom ", in the Philippines and other Southern Asian areas . Also used for the same purposes too! Very interesting. 🤔
Well, Kratom is quite addictive.
3 per cent get addicted 10 per cent get mildly dependent
Is kratom grown in the Philippines?
there is a vastly different mechanism of action, Kratom acts on your body more through the opioid network, rather than the dopamine system
def not similar in effects
Cathinones are not amphetamine-like, they are true amphetamines, chemically. Amphetamine is alpha-methyl-phenyl-ethyl-amine; cathinone posseses all of this structure, with an additional ketone on the beta carbon of the amphetamine, which gives the amphetamine a cocaine-like "kick", and reducing its duration of action somewhat.
I enjoyed this visit. I had no idea about this plant at all. I'll be back for more.
miraa, muguka, jaba, veve....the names we call Khat in Kenya
As usual another exceptional video 🫡
Love you and the team and this channel.
Betel nut leaves are not chewed. Areca nut is chewed with betel leaves. The nut comes from the areca palm and the leaf comes from the betel vine.
Oh, she knows! They made a whole video on betel, definitely check it out! It's more complicated than you're aware - there's no nut involved.
@@e.matthews yeah.. The nut is not always essential for "paan". Will go watch their video as well
@@hg.chetan Enjoy! I was hinting* that it's actually a berry, not a nut 🙂 She goes through it all
It clearly causes problems but banning such substances never works. It needs legalization and regulation with the social support for add¡ction recovery.
Caffeine is really not 'harmless' though. It's the world's favorite drùg along with ethanol.
I was going to mention this too, caffeine is far from harmless. It's really bad even but so many drink it every day without thinking about it, has a lot of nasty health effects that people usually completely ignore since they can't imagine not drinking it. Talk about addiction at its finest. To be fair I used to drink coffee many, many years ago but I stopped and that's when I realized how bad it was and how little it actually did.
@@huldu What are these nasty health effects, i have never heard of them and i have drank coffee almost daily since i was a child. Drinking too much is bad obviously, anything is in excess is. What about a cup a day?
Once in the Middle East a guy offered me a handful of leaves like that to chew. Well, out of curiosity I did, but I noticed nothing.
😂😂
I think you got pranked
@@screamingcactus1753Maybe. But it didn't hurt me at all. So who cares?
u could have just gotten some kinda old khat or not chewed enough, subjective effects of drugs are also subjective effects and could be diffrerent person to person, also if you have adhd it might have just mildly treated your adhd rather than stimming u up
@@AnthemUnanthemedWhatever, I don't care.
You guys should do a video on Kratom, Kratom saved my life and so many people I know that were addicts. It can literally help with heroin withdrawal and it's perfectly natural, unlike the synthetic drugs that are given out to addicts that make them even sicker
I love the topics on here!!
Tasha, you’re more and more unleashing your weirdness and I LOVE it. 😂
I love when you talk about their chemicals, please make a video on Anjco (Anadenanthera Colubrina/Peregrina/Falcata and Parapiptadenia Gonoacantha/Rigida) and jurema (Mmimosa Hostilis/Tenuiflora , Ophtalmocentra) and their bufotein and 5meo
These are strongly rooted on Brazil's culture and it would be great to see your guys talking about it
Our government has no right to tell adults they can’t put a plant in their body. Luckily, the war on drugs hasn’t exactly been successful😂
I think the war on drugs has been successful, for drugs. 😂

ive never heard of this plant before thank you
I was just searching for informations about Khat, for my next book... so, thank you very much !
2:08 Not me running back the "that's incredible" clip 5 times n died laughing each time 🤣🤣🤣
I was hoping for a dopamine montage at the end. Thanks for not disappointing! 😄
Who here wants to hear Tasha the Amazon rap an informational video fully
My uncle chewed miraa. I loved it when he would visit because he would send me to the shop to buy him chewing gum (a brand called Big G). What I enjoyed most was that he would give me a large bill and let me keep the change. The good old days.
Amazing Host
2:09 is actually hilarious, respect for having the confidence to act silly on camera to make informative and entertaining videos
Learn something new every day.
What an interesting plant
I discovered the existance of this plant recently, when there came out news of some Ansar Allah members sharing it with a rescued tripulation of one of the ships they damaged blockading trade to "Israel".
I love learning about these aspects of different cultures, it's quite interesting!
I've had khat in its dried leaf form a few times and yeah its aight, would like to try it fresh.
The best channel on UA-cam!
I really want to see one about persimmons
How have these leaves not been turned into a proper drug like we have done with coca leaves
They don't have a powerful concentration chemicals like coca
Kinda suprised Kratom wasnt mentioned!❤
Thats a downer, different class
this would be an excellent video for them to do next
Love your kitty cat !
Have you done a video on kava yet?
So where can I get some
Thanks so much for this guys. I really didn't know much about kat other than its illegal in Canada.
Coca leaves also need an alkalizing addative.. sometimes lime.
Awesome!
(Annona muricata) - Soursop, graviola, guanabana, sauersak, and guayabano.
(Momordica charantia) - Cerasee, asorosi, (bitter melon leaf)
Had it in Tsfat 🥰 sweetest little family Yemenite lachuch restaurant out there and he makes a drink with it, haha. Gave me 2 free refils and I was definitely feeling the mysticism of the city!
I tried it once years ago. ONCE. I do not recommend it, but then again my days of experimenting with stuff like this are long gone. The crash felt like I was dying...
Thank you for informing us a younger generation. I don't smoke or drink, so something like this is bizarre for myself 😊
I've tried it quite a number of times and found the crash was pretty mild compared to cocaine amphetamine or MDMA. Pure caffeine snorted resulted in one of the worst crashes I've ever experienced. I don't recommend any of these and today my only stimulant is my daily morning coffee.
Love what you are doing…please cover Devil’s Claw…an interesting plant with some healing qualities.🖤🇨🇦
I gotta try that
I guess one look at the guy in the thumbnail answers that question eloquently.
My neighbor is the head nurse in a children's intensive care unit in a hospital, and just had 2 teenager brothers hospitalized in her unit after consuming Khat (Gat) in a wedding.
It wasn't kat but something else
It's more than likely they were not familiar with the effects and panicked when they were not in any real danger. If challenged by adults on their intoxicated behaviour and those adults react in a 'shock, horror DRUGS' manner that will increase the panic and hyperventilation of the teenagers. I've seen a similar case myself. The same with people who go to casualty after taking too much cannabis, usually first time users, who panic and feel out of control when they are in no danger at all and just need to lay down and calm themselves for a while. The reprimands of hospital staff doesn't help either.
Please talk about phantom orchids next!
Have you done kratom? Never tried up but found it interesting. Seems people have managed to make cultivars with different effects, like some are stimulants while others are depressants, etc.
Can you make a video about lithops please? Thanks!
I talked to an Uber driver of mine about this in the states. I had always wondered about this substance. He told me that they have similar substance that you can chew that is a downer as well.
Its so awesome you guys added a part to the channel that Eric Andre would totally be down with 😎👍.. of course it'd probably be a good idea to add a disclaimer and promote moderation. As we all know now, as adults, its all about moderation. Cant OD if you're using in moderation, AND are aware of just what you're consuming. 👌
That's what I've been wondering
I love betel and Kratom I'd definitely like to try it at least once .
Cathinone absolutely is an amphetamine. So is pseudoephedrine, so take it with a grain of salt. As with and psychoactive drug, there is potential for abuse but it's not something we should worry about in most cases.
Can you make a video about cacao?
hi tasha
We’re do we get it in USA
Uganda
#tashatheamazon love your videos and especially love your sense of humour and delivery! You Rock #floralogic
Have you done Camellia sinensis yet? That'd be a good one.
AW ITS A KITTY CAT!
Nice job on the English accent Tasha!
No, not really. It’s just speaking pompously in an American accent.
That was quite the 😮 face! 😂
Where can I get some
silverhill seeds can help you out
Wow, what an amazing animal! I wish i could see it in the wild!
This is great information! I'm going to start using it ASAP so i can watch more of this channels content.
Btw, am i suppose to be having auditory hallucinations?
Oh well, its werckinh varry whell now...thanc u for thw auggeztions
Why do they chew the leaves and not extract the alkaloids from it and snort it?
@animalogic What about an episode on Kratom? There's a lot of conflicting information on it from what I've seen.
Will you be Doing Betel Nut and Kava Next?
Voacanga Africana would be interesting
Ive heard of Khat. Thank you for the detailed information that's awesome. 🎉🎉
How about doing the same thing they did with coca leaves
Hey, I'd personally really like an episode on mitragyna speciosa, the Kratom plant. I think it belongs in the Opiate family, or is closely related? It's in every gas station and smoke shop I come across.
i tried it once, as an experienced drug taker i found it pretty mild. that being said , it probably wasn't very fresh
I, too, am just waiting for the sun to come out.
Haha this video was 10/10 😅 informative and super funny, chefs kiss 👨🍳👄
Please do a video about the most popular flower in the world.... *SUNFLOWER* 🌻
Yes! How do they get so big!?
@@xelectrix I am guessing selective breeding but I could be wrong.
@@xelectrix Probably different varieties
How come you never featured the Cougar and Lynx before?
Do Kratom next pls. It's a plant that's helping many kick tough habits like alcohol and opioid addiction.
From personal experience, kratom doesnt help me not do harder drugs but it is a good place holder... its like taking methadone instead of heroin...still getting high
I wonder if this can be grown as a houseplant. How fun would it be to have a khat ficus?
I wonder what be like if u made into diamonds. Like thc diamonds. Throw into extraction tube. Grab your hydrocarbon that your going to use to extract. Make sure to filter and pump vacuum any harmful carbon contaminents.
Can we get a special on yebra mate
can I just say that caffeine and cocaine need to be talked about in comparison to one another more often in how they are similar, as they actually have fairly similar health effect when taken at equivalent doses, and seemingly the crackdown on trade caused the isolation of the molecules in the respective plant making it a hell of a lot more dangerous in the same way that taking caffeine pills regularly would be a hell of a lot more dangerous than drinking coffee.
I've snorted pure caffeine, Not recommended.
Aww kitty! Are they a cornelius rex?
Id like to know more about harmless editable plants i already know alot about this but id love to see some videos from floralogic example i love useing stinging nettle and clovers in soups.
Puha. Watercress
It makes me wonder if nectar makes bees feel similar.
Or other things that come from plants that have a strong association with animals.
Much like coffee, tea, and tons of other stuff we humans like, khat seems to be something that by causing positive effects in humans ensures its survival.
Apparently caffeine makes pollinators more likely to remember the plants that contain it by stimulating their brains.
I want a show of you as darwin now 😅
Didn't even know it's illegal, in my country it's legal and sold quite commonly in drink and stuff
Didn't know about this.
when you start description i thought khat is ephedra.
My favorite substance to use❤❤.... it's been a while though
It’s certainly interesting to call a farmer a “drug lord” when they hire security to protect their goods when Target, Walmart, and every other store in America has armed security at the door and we don’t bat an eye.
Maybe it's just a California thing but I've never seen a store security guard that's armed. Not have I seen them actually stop anyone. They seem to just be used as a more social deterrent
@@amirmoradi9595 you acknowledge the existence then.
Just saying, seems like a double standard
Fuck yes! I love these drops.
I liked this video
2:10 scared the sh** outta me
This was weird years ago, i worked at a jail and they brought people in for possesibg this plant, but now not so much
