A Prequel To A Slaying...

- Starting at midnight on, Saturday, June 6, 2020, for the first time since its theatrical and DVD/Blu-Ray release last November, the motion picture “Slayer: The Repentless Killogy” will make its VIDEO ON DEMAND debut. The release is in celebration of “International Day of Slayer,” the annual heavy metal holiday that commemorates the uncompromising, loud and defiant music of the iconic thrash/punk/metal band SLAYER. Since the holiday’s inception 18 years ago, every June 6, Slayer fans have staged a “Slay-out," skipping work or school in favor of spending the day listening to Slayer at nuclear blast level, in their car, at home, or the public place of their choice. However, this year, to make sure every Slayer acolyte stays lean and mean, the "International Day of Slayer" can be saluted in the privacy and comfort of your own home - a “Slay-In."
As part of the celebration, the feature film will premiere at the special rate of $6.66 USD for one week, with 50% of the proceeds, donated on behalf of Slayer, Nuclear Blast and Global Merchandising Services, earmarked for Live Nation’s Crew Nation charity to help support live music road crew members who have been directly impacted as a result of COVID-19.

Part One of “Slayer: The Repentless Killogy” motion picture was written and directed by BJ McDonnell, who conceived and directed the three brutal music videos - “You Against You,” “Repentless,” and “Pride in Prejudice”- for Slayer’s final studio album Repentless (2015). The film opens with the three music videos assembled as one chronological storyline, and then segues into a present-time narrative written and filmed especially for this motion picture. Part One stars many of the actors who appeared in the original video series: Jason Trost (“Beats of Rage,” “Hatchet III”), as Wyatt, Danny Trejo (“Machete,” “From Dusk Til Dawn”), Richard Speight (“Band of Brothers,” “Supernatural”), Derek Mears (“Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”), Jessica Pimentel (“Orange Is The New Black”), Tyler Mane (“X-Men,” “Halloween !!”), Bill Moseley (“The Devil’s Rejects,” “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2”), Caroline Williams (“The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2,” “Sharknado 4”), and Sean Whalen (“Twister,” “The People Under The Stairs”).
Part Two features Slayer’s entire live set performed at the Los Angeles Forum on August 5, 2017 and was directed by Wayne Isham who has directed videos for artists including Metallica, Foo Fighters, Michael Jackson, Kelly Clarkson, and Britney Spears. Presented in front of one of the most striking stage productions of the band’s career, Slayer performs fan-favorites including “South of Heaven,” “War Ensemble,” “Mandatory Suicide,” “Dead Skin Mask,” “Raining Blood,” and “Angel of Death.”
For the “Slayer: The Repentless Killogy” feature, the band - Tom Araya, Kerry King, Gary Holt and Paul Bostaph - were filmed discussing the Repentless album, Slayer fans, being a member of The Big Four, and more on “A Prequel to Slaying…”
After making some of the most brutal, breathtakingly aggressive, all-hell's-a-breaking-loose music ever created, being one of the four bands that defined an entire musical genre and being the band that other heavy acts are measured against and aspire to...after 38 years, releasing 12 studio albums, multiple live recordings, compilations, live video and two box sets, playing nearly 3000 concerts in all corners of the world, receiving countless awards including five Grammy nominations and two Grammy awards, Gold records and other accolades...having its own exhibit in the Smithsonian Institute, gracing hundreds of magazine covers, experiencing the devastating loss of a founding brother, and even appearing on "The Tonight Show," the Age of Slayer, one of the greatest thrash/metal/punk bands of this or any age, came to an end on November 30, 2019 when the band wrapped up its Final World Tour with two sold-out nights at the Los Angeles Forum. On its final tour, Slayer performed more than 140 shows in 20 countries and 40 U.S. states. Long live Slayer.

Slayer retires and the whole world falls apart...
Slayer for life !!
Right!
Yeah
It did
Holy shit
I'm a 42 yr old guy and saw this 13 yr old kid with a Slayer shirt. I told him how awesome he is. His father came out to see what was going on. He told me him and his family are going to see Slayer. Great family right there.
🤘🏻
I'm a band off but I'm working on it, almost the same age.
It sucks cause I'm 14 and a metal head but I live on the West Coast of California so there is a buch of pop fans, sports players and skaters. Just not enough people who are interested in my taste of music or musicians to jam with. LONG LIVE METAL 🤘

The world would have been a better place

xjaskix: Don’t be a moron. Of course he doesn’t worship SATAN. What’s the difference? Have you ever heard of show business before? How would it change your perception of the band if they did worship Satan? Do you worship Satan? How is that working out for you? Religion is a catalyst for starting wars.

37 years is a huge career for a thrash band. Most never made it to 10 in the 80's and 90's. Retired with class. Legendary band.
Dave Lombardo Will always be thee Metal Drumming Godfather originator driving force of Slayer. A true master at his Metal craft, one of the GOAT that has truly paved the way
The new album was better than the previous 2.
Gene hoglan taught Dave the double bass
Saw my first Slayer concert in 1998 I was 16 and after that day I went every year 20 plus ticket stubs seven or eight different cities I've seen them in I went to the farewell tour twice thank you Slayer my favorite band ever I will miss you and thank you for hanging it up properly rest in peace Jeff hanneman

Slayer and Pantera for me 🤘🤘
I’ll go with Clash of The Titans. Slayer/Anthrax/Megadeth and Alice In Chains. Fucking absolute insanity. Although Slayer/Exodus and Suicidal was killer as well.

I'm 45 with short hair and a long white beard and I've been listening to these since high school in the early 90's and still love them. My favorite U.S. Metal band ever. Much respect and a great band and always love their interviews. Very humble and funny band. Part of my life. My Pop asked me once when I was younger..."Are you going to still listen to this style of music when you're 30 years old?" I was in high school when he asked me this.....a while back I flipped the question back to him as I said..."Hey Pop are you still listening to The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Jimmy Hendrix in 2020 at your age now hmm?" He said..."Okay next questions...." lol So yeah it's all good and love the music. I love Slayer and always will. Funny...I wear Slayer shirts and hats etc. at the grocery store or wherever and every so often some random guy that sees me will just yell..."SLAYER!" I always respond with the same and a thumbs up. It's a guy thing just like Motorcycle guys and Jeep guys. Only we are the Slayer Nation! A++++ Thumbs Up! : )))

These guys are the type of people who'd share a beer with you and talk about anything. Thank you Slayer for the legacy. Your music will be heard generations through generations
Thank you for staying true to your roots. Ive been a fan since 1984, my whole family are fans too. Seeing you on your last tour was very emotional, knowing i might not ever see you and hear your pure spirit of what has kept me listening for my life time. You guys rule. no other bands could ever come close to being such great and dedicated artist as you are.
After Toms speach about touring with metallica brings me hope that they could reunite to do it :D
The Repentless Killogy was a great production and really represented the Slayer experience well for folks who never got to see them live. I'd been to numerous SLayer shows, but I took my teenage son to the Killogy and he was hooked immediately. Should have taken him to more shows as a kid LOL. Good to see this going on video on demand

There's such a huge contrast between Tom and Kerry
Love the band... but without Lombardo and since Jeff's death something seemed off. There are bands that keep their essence even with changing members but I never got that feeling with Slayer. It seems the chemistry was just not the same and I think that had to do with them retiring. It was a good ride and I feel fortunate that I got to see them live many times. I'm so glad I got to live my teen years during the golden days of metal. Good times.
Tom's laughter is so infectious! Genuine.
I have stopped counting to how many concerts I've been ever since I got into metal around ten years ago. But what I can say for sure is that every single Slayer show was among the best.
The final one, in Wacken 2019, was easily the best concert I've ever been to!

Might be highest charting. But old albums are killers & they dont need to best sellers to be classics. Show No Mercy, Hell Awaits, Reign in Blood, South of Heaven. GOLD. And Undisputed Attitude is a classic cover album as well. We need a SLAYER tribute band now. Delta Empire would be the drummer.
