@@Zwodrey I know that laughters all too well, for I experienced the same when Lovebites conquered _my_ playlist. It was about 6 weeks (!) ago. I could not believe my eyes and ears. This band is "too good to be true", unique, and you just do not expect this: Metal perfection, played by 5 young Japanese female top musicians, dressed like ancient Greek godesses, in high heels, smiling while shredding. 😂By the way, that is their conceot for "surprise attacks" on newbies. 😂 And it always works. 😂 Did also work in my case. 😂 When you go through their umpteen songs (60+), you will get used to that laughters and surprise. They practise Metal perfection on at least 3 conceptional layers per song, enough place for surprises. 😁 So, as you obviously got Lovebitten, "Welcome to The Wolf Pack"! (Lovebites' global fanbase) 😁🐺

I love this reaction! First time reactions to Lovebites are the best when people get so excited the way I did when I first saw them. Phenomenal band. You've just scratched the surface. Midori and Miyako are one of the great guitar duos of all time. I hope you check out more. Lovebites won the 2018 Metal Hammer Golden Gods award for best new band. They were the first all female Japanese band to play at Wacken.

I knew you would be Love bitten by them!! They play Heavy/Thrash/Power Metal and they do it with this slap in a face style. Coming in in high heels and dresses and wash you on the floor with metal. You can only guess what they are capable.
In my opinion they don't have any weak song but my favourites are as someone suggested already Judgment Day live 2023 and The Hammer of Wrath live 2023 and Break the Wall live 2020. Those all are very powerful songs. In the near future I'm sure you belong to the Wolfpack, the army of fans of Lovebites. Thank you for your happy reaction,these women bring joy and positivity to Metal.

Congratulations, you just found the best new metal band to come along in decades. In their first five years of existence, they put themselves on par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. Other reviewers have described them as alien superheroes disguised as young women, angels, princesses of metal, and angry bridesmaids. They recently went on a year-and-a half hiatus while they searched for a new bassist. They announced the new bassist in October 2022 (see below) and dropped their first new song on December 22. Their new album, “Judgement Day”, was released two months later.
They did their first live performances in more than two years in summer of 2023, with their new bassist Fami. Their very first show was commemorated on the DVD “Knocking on Heaven’s Gate”. They have posted three performances from that DVD.
Some background:
They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief headbanger and founder of the band) had a vision of a new band in the style of the great European bands of the golden age of metal. She recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuclear reactor”); they needed two world-class guitarists, and so they went and found Midori and Miyako, who were with other groups. The four of them then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time (she was also trained in ballet).
Miyako has composed a little more than half of their music, with Miho composing a lot of their thrashier songs in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer. Midori has also been getting into the act, and they regularly perform a song written by Haruna as well. Asami writes most of the lyrics and is also getting involved in composing.
In mid-2021, Miho left the band she had founded, for personal reasons. They went on hiatus while they searched for a new bassist, and during that time, two of them had babies, even as the band were writing and rehearsing their new album. They recently announced the new bassist, Fami, who is a young phenom and herself a composer and multi-instrumentalist. The instrumentalists studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Helloween, Slayer etc. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and have created a sound that is fresh and cutting edge while paying tribute to the old masters. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance was that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining.
They do everything from soulful power ballads to heavy thrash. Almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two guitarists are quite different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel (though she can also shred like crazy). Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The contrast makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. As another reviewer said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band."

Miyako is also a virtuoso concert pianist, and was headed for a career in classical music, before picking up the guitar. She is self-taught on the guitar. Every song on the album is a showcase of their incredible talent and songwriting capabilities. “Stand and Deliver” is a thrasher with a fun video of them in the studio. “Soldier Stands Solitarily”, the final song on the album, is being touted by some as the best thing they’ve done so far-I encourage you to see and decide for yourself!

Now they are my favorite band. I love every of their almost 60 songs. Miyako the guitarist with the big Dean Guitar is the tallest in the band (1,58m) along with the new bassist Fami who joined the band last year. You will see her in „Judgement Day“ This video was taken from the last tour with old bassist and founder Miho who left the band in summer 2021. The singers name is Asami, Midori is the ESP guitar player and Haruna the drummer is a machine with only 1,45 m. Miyako was pregnant at this show and is also a phenomenal piano player, i suggest to take a look on her Piano rendition of Helloween‘s Eagle Fly Free.

The first is power metal with a touch of thrash and the second is thrash metal. The third video is "Nameless Warrior" and is full on power/speed metal similar to DragonForce.
These ladies turn heads when they appear on stage, but when the start playing they start to turn necks. Awesome musicianship!

When LOVEBITES appeared at WACKEN2018 as the festival's first Japanese female metal band, they were a rookie band that had only been together for two years and had only released their debut EP and first full-length album, and many in the 10,000+ audience at the W.E.T stage had They were mistakenly thought to be "kawaii metal" like BABYMETAL.

Klasse Reaktion Video und ich freue mich auch gleich auf mehr von dir über Lovebites und andere japanische Frauen Heavy Metal Bands. In Japan ist eine ganze Generation von weiblichen Musikerinnen, sagen wir mal so zwischen 25 und 35 Jahren welche absolut auf achtziger Jahre Metal stehen, Power, Speed und Thrashmetal. Ich habe mir auch gleich mal einige eurer Apoplex Demo Tapes angehört. Nicht von schlechten Eltern, damals wart ihr jedoch 10 Jahre zu spät an damit. Grunge kam auf und Heavy Metal von jungen, unbekannten Bands war out. Würde mich mal interessieren was so ein Musiker wie du heutzutage so macht bzw. all die Jahre gemacht hat.
In Japan ist deutscher Metal sehr beliebt. Michael Schenker ist dort ein Gott und dieses Wochenende spielen Helloween in Tokyo im ausverkauften Budokan. Die Helloween Jungs sind befreundet mit den Damen von Lovebites.
PS: Die meisten bzw. sehr viele der japanischen HM Frauen sehen jünger aus als sie sind, sehr viele sind verheiratet und haben Kinder. Eine neue Generation japanischer modern lebender Frauen.
Lovebites has been around since 2016, and the women became more famous worldwide after performing at several major festivals, mainly in Europe, starting in 2018.
Wacken - Open Air in Germany 2018 - Bloodstock Open Air in England 2019 - Graspop Metal Meeting Festival in Belgium 2019 - Download Festival in Spain In 2020, their career was abruptly interrupted by Corona. But they masterfully overcame the crisis, got married and had babies. In 2021 the founder Miho left the band for personal reasons and it went into a hiatus which lasted until the end of 2022. In the fall of 2022 they found a young fantastic bass player and in 2023 they released a new LP. The new LP reached the 5th place in the Japanese charts. Japan is the 2nd largest music market in the world and it is very rare that in these times a rock band comes so far forward. best all female band to ever exist - hands down. the talent in this band is just astonishing and their live performances are all like this . flawless. they put a lot of bands through the years to shame and they look so damn good doing it. they played at wacken in 2018 and won the golden gods metal hammer award for best new band. now you have seen why. i warn you - these ladies are so addictive it will be next to impossible to stop watching them. with over 60 self written songs of this caliber you will be busy

The bassist here Miho founded the band with drummer Haruna in 2016 unfortunately she departed Lovebites in August 2021 and the band took a year off before holding auditions and evenyually going with internet sensation the 20 year old prodigy with over 700,000 fans Fami recently they put out their 4th album Judgement Day in February 2023 and their 5th live album live at Heavens Gate August 2023 check out the new live with bassist Fami

Great first reaction to the best band in history. But, for the 3rd reaction in 2 days, the reaction has failed to mention Lead singer Asami-san (or indeed Haruna-san on drums and Miho-san on Bass). Tut tut.

And that is just the beginning of a journey through their 60+ songs. 😁In a nutshell: Not 1 bad or weak song on 4 consecutive studio albums. Listening to Metal excellence, without remorse. And their lyrics (worth reading) add to that. I have a history as a 35 years die-hard Iron Maiden fan, so I know what quality is, but these *ladies* are just "something else". 😳Sometimes I say, "As soon as they become a bit more theatrical in their live shows, Iron Maiden can retire." 😁 But until that day comes, Iron Maiden still are the best story-telling Metal band for me. Both them (Iron Maiden) and Lovebites negotiated a peaceful co-existence on my playlist. 😁

Ich hab bei meinem ersten Kontakt mit Lovebites ("Holy War") erst wie gelähmt dagesessen und dann herzhaft geflucht, weil ich wusste, mit damals 53 Jahren eine der besten Bands der Welt entdeckt zu haben.

@@Zwodrey well, who knows, I used to think the same way about Arch Enemy (I wasn't a big fan of harsh vocals until only a couple of years ago), and the release of the Deceivers album turned me into a fan of them, including appreciating their earlier stuff.... Something similar MAY happen with Lovebites for me, who knows
Asami's vocals continue to improve. She sings some of her best on their newest album.
Zwodrey, man merkt gleich, dass Du noch nicht lange in jap. Rock- und Metal-Musik unterwegs bist. Sonst wüsstest Du, dass die ganz großen Namen mit wenigen Ausnahmen (z.B. Ningen Isu) allesamt Frauenbands sind: Nemophila, Band Maid, Baby Metal, Gacharic Spin, Hanabie und viele viele andere. Übrigens sind das keine "girls". Die Sangerin und die dunkelhaarige Gitarristin von Lovebites sind beide Mütter.
Das ist richtig, ich bin neu in dem Bereich Japanischer Rock und Metal und nicht allwissend. Das kann aber auch nicht der Anspruch an jemanden sein der „First Time Reactions“ macht. Ich reagiere auf Songs aus aller Welt. Und es ist mir aufgrund mangelnder Zeit, ich arbeite tagsüber Vollzeit, und der Menge Menge an Bands auf die ich reagieren soll, nicht möglich mich in jeder länderspezifischen Subkultur zum Experten aufzuschwingen.
Bitte das richtig einzuordnen.
Ich reagiere auf das was ich da jeweils sehe und höre. Dazu muss ich weder wissen was es Abseits der jeweiligen Band noch alles gibt, wie groß die jeweilige Szene ist und wie die Aufteilung Frauen und Männer aussieht. Es ist für das Hörerlebnis von Musik auch egal aus welchem Land die Musiker kommen. Musik ist universell. Das hat nämlich für die Qualität eines Songs oder seine Wirkung auf mich als Zuhörer bzw. Zuseher keine Relevanz. Es sind durchaus nette Randinfos, welche man mir hinterher gern geben darf, wenn man das möchte.
Nicht falsch verstehen, ich mag die bisher gehörten Songs allesamt, egal ob Lovebites, Band-Maid oder Nemophila. Aber erwartet bitte nicht von mir das ich zum Japan-Rock-Metal-Experten werde. In sowas seid Ihr besser geeignet.
Für mich geht es ausschließlich darum, ob mir der jeweilige Song gefällt und wie er auf mich wirkt.
Ich merke schon, die Fans der japanischen Rock-Metal-Szene sind sehr Leidenschaftlich und Detailverliebt. Das ist schön für die Bands, so aufmerksame und beschützende Fans zu haben. Man darf nur nie vergessen, dass der Rest der Welt nicht denselben Kenntnisstand hat. Und auch nicht zwingend haben muss, um die Musik genießen zu können. Peace 🤘❤️👍

@@mmcpa It's been only the last 3 years of my almost 74 years that I've found and enjoyed growling. Before then I heard $hitloads of female artist, and liked them.
With whatever time I have left in this world I will listen to what makes me happy. Mainly that's 🔥🔥❤Opeth❤🔥🔥. Beautiful clean vocals and growling as well.
