A great opener for Kishane Thompson especially with the injuries he had the past couple of years. While some people are going to use this race as a fuel to predict or flat out call him the next 100m World Champion, there's a lot of time between now and September for Worlds. It's too early for that. So I wish him the best throughout the entire season and hopefully we see similar but frequent performances like this from him moving forward. The race in Kazakhstan will be intriguing.
Bro always hype me up with his videos🔥 Kishane just need to stay healthy & execute his race properly when their is competition, cause bro definitely a next great talent! Will offer him grace last year since it’s his first full season but big dog gotta show up when it counts👏🏾 & I believe he can!
Also big shoutout Nishion Ebanks who got 2nd in this race; that’s a 6.45 with no wind or altitude! It’ll be interesting to see how HIS season goes as he’s not even gone sub-10 yet (10.32 official PB)! As for Kishane, this solidifies the fact he is - on paper - the most dangerous athlete going in to this year!
Shout out to Joshua Caleb out of UAA who just broke the African U-20 Record in the indoor 60m last held by Ibrahim Meite in 1995 (6.58). Joshua just ran a 6.57 last week becoming the first ever UAA athlete to get national athlete of the week. Not much to do with the video but im from alaska and its impressive
@@buhrochemNot necessarily, but you’re also not wrong either. If this race has been indoors Kishane 100% would have gone faster than 6.48, since the wind was that strong against him. However in general peaked athletes run similar times over 60m indoors as they split outdoors. A good example of this is Noah Lyles; his 60m indoors as the PB is 6.43 and his best 0-60m split outdoors is also 6.43.
This man is a powerful sprinter there can be no doubt. He's been a bit injury prone so it's yet to be seen if we can even begin to think he'll approach Asafa Powell's 97 sub-10 clockings. Kishane has a score to settle. He said after the Paris 100m he didn't trust his top end speed. He wont make that mistake again and I feel in the 100m he is the man to beat this year, not Lyles.
I would like to see him fix his form, he runs hunched over and tends to break down in the final 30 of the 100. This race was no exception, he was hunched over the whole time. If he found a way to straighten up and stay relaxed, I think he has a shot at the 9.6's. Probably needs some yoga, stretching, his psoas and hip flexors probably way too tight. Also he should adjust his weights to focus on hams and back, his quads and arms probably overly developed against the rest of his muscles groups, lack of balance.
