This is another example for a person in need for a deep clean. As those tiles and the silicone sealings are pretty aged this was a hard cleaning job but with an excellent result. It showed just how dirty they originally were. Hopefully he can get someone in to remove all that mildew stained sealant around the tub and replace it with nice clean white instead. Caulking, yes! Just to mention about grout. We once used a bottle with a sponge on end of it to whiten tile grout in bathroom after we cleaned it (a long time ago when we rented then). It whitened it and sealed it and was so easy to apply, wait five minutes and wipe residue off of tiles. We now have a home and wish this company make the same with colors for kitchen tile grout but no, just white. The grout was in good condition, just wasn't sealed. for less than $15 ($3.95 in those days), What a cleaning saver!

Soak some cotton wool in bleach and then press it into the silicone. Leave as long as possible then remove and rinse well. It usually works the first time but may need repeating on stubborn stains. I love how hard you work, I have only mentioned the above hack to make things easier for you. X
