  • In todays video, I share my experience with Colour Lock New Leather Care Kit Mild. Ideal for leather furniture or leather car seats.
Firstly, clean the leather thoroughly before refreshing the colour or applying care products. Use COLOURLOCK Mild Leather Cleaner against normal degrees of soiling or COLOURLOCK Strong Leather Cleaner in extreme cases (where the leather has been neglected for many years, for example classic cars languishing in garages and barns). Cleaning prior to the treatment prevents dirt sticking to the leather's surface when applying colour or care products. Our COLOURLOCK Leather Cleaning Brush effectively removes ingrained dirt.
For surface care, we recommend our COLOURLOCK Leather Protector. It contains antioxidants, which stops the leather's decay, and its UV filters protect the leather surface from colour fading and will make the leather soft and supple once more.
The kit is usually sufficient to treat a complete car interior or set of furniture multiple times. The Cleaner should only be used on soiled areas, while the Protector should be applied to all surfaces. In the event of extreme soiling, a larger amount of Cleaner might be necessary, but this is very rare.

I used to buy expensive leather specific products but last week I mixed a tablespoons worth of dish soap with half a liter of tap water and poured that on a magic sponge and it did an amazing job, for the first time ever in 7 years I owned that car the steering wheel is truly fully clean, I love it

I bought this kit a little more than a year ago for the leather in my X6. I’m not a fan of the foam block it comes with. I also suggest starting with the leather dash, steering wheel and doors first so you can sit on the seats before you clean them or apply the leather shield. Lastly, I would recommend cutting the fabric cloth the kit comes with in quarters. You won’t use much of the leather shield on the first go round but the cloth will become rather stiff and unusable if you don’t wash it after using it. Overall, the shield is better than the cleaner but I would just use Gyeon leather cleaning products altogether. I keep a towel on my leather center console especially when I get out of the gym. 😅

I have never had a bad experience with Colourlock. Their mild cleaner is actually pretty strong and in my experience the seats always have a premium feel compared to the tons of other products I have used. Thank you for the video and your Jag looks better than new.

This product has been out for some years now and I have used it often on new cars and even on some ones that are a few years old. Seems to work quite well. I have used it on the steering wheel with the sealant and try to leave it overnight and have not had any issues.👍✌️☮️

Another informative video. Something you might consider trying... I've been using the autofiber saver "finger mitts " for application of higher end interior protection. I use less product, get more even coverage and (when held like a pad) get into the crevices more easily.

Colourlock is great stuff. I attribute my 3 yr. old semi aniline seats still looking new from using it starting week one. I use the center arm rest but have a black microfiber towel on it.

I have a leather-padded armrest on the center console and I use it to rest my arm on. I'm too uncomfortable trying to keep my arm on my lap, so I use the armrest. I do keep it treated with Gyeon Leather Coat to minimize any wear.

Still looking for a great leather cleaner and protector! As for the armrest I put a soft folded microfiber over it so I can rest my arm on it and it comes in handy if I spill something!

I’ve been ordering all my cars with light interiors for decades now, so I’ve used everything from Lexol to zaino to leatherique to now colour lock. There is nothing better, it’s so good the mild cleaner literally one swipe removed blue jeans staining on my ivory Jaguar f-pace svr leather (after having applied their shield)

Only leather protection product I’ve used is Gyeon Leather Coat. When I drive I put my arms on both arm rests, but if I had a more expensive vehicle I’d definitely keep it more clean be more careful

Does the factory sealant applied to new leather seats effectively isolate the leather from traditional leather cleaning processes and bring us to the point of cleaning the sealant? Kinda like polyurethane on my hardwood floors.

Brian, I recently purchased a paint thickness gauge from Amazon. It had good reviews. I measured the paint on my 370z and got an average of 3.5mils. I have only done a 2 step correction with Meguairs ultimate compound and polish. Is this paint too thin to try a 1 step with sonax perfect finish and a Rupes yellow foam pad?

Driving without putting your arm on the armrest, if it's comfortable and you want to do it, is a step too far for the sake of some marginal amount of cleanliness or wear. Driving should be enjoyable.
