Gnogmenting sockets are expensive. But new gear comes quick! Do you have a general strategy for when to gnogment gear and not spend a fortune? For instance, new legendary weapons are available at levels 1 and 6. 21 and 26, 41 and 46... etc. I don't gnogment any weapons except for those levels, at a minimum. No questions asked. If I find something in between, and it has a rune on it that I want, I hold on to that item and wait until 1 or 6 and then I'll look to build a new weapon. So.... do you recommend any kind of similar strategy for anything else? I'm aware, if you don't upgrade often enough, you'll struggle as you level in the new zones, but I can't afford to gnogment every damn thing I find. What works best? Every 5 levels maybe? 10? 2? Just curious if anyone has a good strategy that works and doesn't break the bank.
Normally I do it whenever I find a new skill or when the new rune heavily outweighs my own. For example if I have a Thunderbird Strike that does 10 damage but a new rune does 12 I don't gnog it. But if it does twice as much I am willing to spend a socket. There is no strategy. It either works for you or it doesn't. I don't consider spending 1-2 runes every few levels a loss. This way you figure out what works best for your chosen class.
@@stlstg I definitely urge you to join the official forums. There are lots of creators there that have guides and builds that you can take a look at if you want. I am just the only one who is trying to populate UA-cam with videos for the game but there are players that are veterans and know heck of a lot more than me about the game. I doubt there is a specific "tactic" about gnogmenting though. Most would just advise you to save your runes for later when you need them and some to use them so you get the hand of gnogging. It really matters that what you want to do in the end!
Once the new expansion drops the UI will be changed completely for gnogmenting. Will cover that one too next month! :P
