It's going to turn into world war one - lines of trenches on either side of a no man's land where if you poke your head up thirty machine guns open fire on you, with improvised tanks/Platform Bronto's occasionally lumbering ahead of a breach attempt.

Sounds like a skill issue mate. 😛 But I wholeheartedly agree. I always spent so long lining my structures up perfectly in line with the wall.
@@JustGunnie not really a skill issue, i used to do it manually but i spent too much time making it perfect and symmetrical because im a bit of a perfectionist, this is an awesome change tbh
@@Kkronoz42069Knowledge issue maybe because ladders+ k-mode made it not that hard. But definitely a great change.
@@Kkronoz42069 Was more joking than anything. I do the exact same thing due to my mild OCD. The only reason I said that was partly for a laugh and partly because I did it so much that I got good at eyeballing it to the point where I could get it in one or two tries. What @f1ght3rro said is true as well though. There are ways around it like ladders and using k mode.
@@JustGunnie on console it was a bit harder because sticks have 360° movement instead of buttons to walk perfectly straight

They should add optional hatchframes and change the model of the water intake (it looks like it should be connected to something), other than that the changes look great!
It's great to see them incorporate some of the most popular mods like S+ into the base game. Almost all of these (besides the updated physics changes) are straight from S+ and it makes me a lot less hesitant to wait for mods before building a serious base. The biggest non S+ change was putting all the various wall pieces into one blueprint and craft which was massive, to whoever designed that, than you.
They hired the mod creator of S+ that is why the new improvements are so good
So... S+ basically, good to know, I actually loved that mod
i heard somewhere that the S+ creator Orionsun is the one who did most of the work on the building system for ASA
Agreed. Massive W for building. If this was released on console when stated (not blaming them but would be nice) and it was more optimised for lower end PC’s it’s pretty much a perfect release.
What a rip off lol. 40 bucks for a freed mod on a decade old game that was never finished in the first place.
S+ is only a teeny tiny mod, this is an entirely new game.

Honestly vacuum compartments going to be the move I think. I was exploring the underwater for like 15mins and found a few quasi-caves and ratholes. Just have a Dino pen and teleporters on land
You can have floating turrets using tek cellar doors and leaving them open
and then hide the doors that are open and now they have no choice but to directly attack the turret?
can you also use this to float furniture like forges, chem benches, and tek reps? i would always float these on hatchframes but this would make that 1000% easier

you cant place turrets on cubes anymore unless its on structure & turrets under rafts only works if youve got structure sinking below it, wont place normally
gotta say. i was skeptical but these all seem pretty cool. now to get the game running more optimized.

You can daisy chain the water storage. One intake to a storage to a storage to a storage. Can keep going infinitely in one direction across entire map if you wanted.
It's very expensive for official though. This seems lazy with no thought.
Is that the "official" technique to move water a long distance if you're away from a river or does WIldcard have a different technique in mind?
technically you dont even need to do that, just collect rain water

Great video ty just 1 think that bothers me, Im not sure what to think water pipes tho ... some maps water can be far away and having just decent passive range intake could not be enough, also looks funny when there is random intake sticking from the lake xD

@@Bluesnipible You can chain water reservoirs, because they also have range and get irrigated from a distance. So instead of placing a ton of pipes, you just place water tanks every so often

if youre laying down and crawl off an edge and fall. you still will be in the prone position. ASE forced stand up. And the new vault have a spot on top you can hide a four man tribe in (possibly) idk if your safe from damage or can shoot out of it tho

I can't play this game till I update my GPU, but holy shit am I excited to get into some building. As a base bitch this is going to make my life so much easier and more enjoyable experimenting with base designs.
Fyi you can drop vaults, you just have to break the support with a tek rifle instead of how we used to do it

The optimization and qol for building alone makes me want to try this game again, gone are the days of ladder aligning for the ocd base builders

You can put beds in each other, I’ve been doing it, you have to toggle it to no snapping mode (ASE)

Good news for you then, I watched a video earlier today about vacuum compartments and you can infact toggle all the pillars on or off to make one giant open space if you wanted to 👍

Great video. Just a quick question. Do cannons still do damage to structures? Also i believe giant metal hatchframes came with scorched, or so ive seen in other comments sections
Possible that they might have just removed them entirely considering the hatch works as its own frame now. Wouldn't mind seeing them again for turret trees but it looks like they might not even be necessary now that turrets can be placed anywhere.

They will be adding Cryo's back when they bring out the UE5 version of Extinction.
Ya that was a very questionable call but on the other hand now people can experience what ark was like before cryos which they probably never will again
Ark was fun before cryos. It was all about meat running people's tames. Now it's all about L1'ing cryo fridges

S+ seems much better integrated now than it was for ASE. One thing I'd wish it was also added is the resources pull. I hate to grab stuff from all over my base every time I want to craft something from my inventory.
You can auto craft from dedis. It's basically resource pull

Hey Everyone. Console player here. Can’t wait too play. Just wanted to ask everyone. Enjoying the game? And Does the elevator still have a weight limit?
If u place regular generator and fill it and turn it on, then place another generator on the edge of the 1st ones range but leave it empty, can you power the empty generator and get a boost to the range?
I would assume you still need fuel for the generator, no?
@@WatersAbove77 maybe, but idk i dont have game yet. maybe its like the water intake range with water reservoirs. chain them out can get water anywhere. the powered 1st gen can operate all the other gasoline powered items now, maybe it can power an empty generator too.

Wow, I really hate the generators. I got wiring and pipes down to the point where one intake and one generator would power my whole base and weren’t a mess at all. This doesn’t make any sense. Now I have to have multiple generators with multiple stacks of gasoline to power it all? Fun

Ark: Building Explained
As someone who plays Singleplayer managing cables in ark always felt like a chore so im glad that was removed. But removing water pipes feels like a mistake. Creating a giant network of ziplines in aberration to build pipes to my base was one of my favourite projects. Having to build water pipes to your base came with risks of being attacked, cable management didnt it feels like a core part of arks survival gameplay has been oversimplified to me
Bro lets play on a private server together I only play singleplayer too but sometimes I would like to fight bosses with someone or take on caves together.
as u said u play singlepayer, in servers having to put 100 pipes just to get some irrigation wasnt funny at all, plus piper make the game laggy bc most of time ppl put them meshed an forgot to destroy them

How do water containers work now? Do you have to chain them together to an irrigated pipe like a range extender? Do they fill up over time like in ASE? Do they fill up with rain?
Ngl, as someone who likes to live in places that look pretty (and are quite far away from water sometimes) it does worry me that there are no pipes anymore. How will i make a greenhouse near my base if its far away from water??
@@megaraptorayou place an intake in water, it gives u an irrigation radius like the gennys and you can also use water reservoirs the same way. If anything this just removed the hassle of hiding pipes and cables!
