1981 was the year my family moved from Altoona to Stroud, Oklahoma. I was 11. That's a hell of a story! Glad your dad wasn't seriously injured. Thanks for sharing!
So glad to hear him tell this story. I recall your mom showing me the newspaper story on this incident. I was so shocked! And when she told me he didn't get hurt from the fall, it was something to giggle about. Because it was such a crazy thing!
Awesome story. Glad he is around to tell it first hand. God certainly had His hand on him! And the fact he got back up there is a testimony to his ruggedness!
Crazy! I appreciate you. I'm born and raised in york Pa. Good to see other Pennsylvanians. 😊
I’ve been to Altoona. Probably about 15 years ago now. I live in Philadelphia. I’m glad to hear that your dad survived. That’s incredible.

It is crazy he wasn't seriously injured that day. I remember worrying while we waited to find out how he was doing.
Grew up there in the 90's. Great video!
Thank you!
Nice having your dad tell a story!
God was watching out for you as could have been much worse. Great story, thanks for sharing.

Thanks Mike! I definitely got my work ethic from him. I did not get his comfort with heights....
What a perfect video my daughter and I are thinking about moving to Altoona, Pennsylvania. Her boyfriend lives just outside of Indiana Pennsylvania.
Altoona will always be home to me.
Damn can't believe he survived that. Definitely the last breed of hard working men.
He was really lucky. From what it looks like that ladder was probably around 50 degree angle. A kick board was definitely missed.
Crazy, were you and your father born here in Altoona? I remember you had family in Harrisburg.
Yeah Mom's side Harrisburg, but born and raised in Altoona.
@@runningintohistory damn dude, we probably live down the street from each haha
@OctavianXCII I lived on 19th Avenue behind the Altoona Hospital. Where did you live at?
@@runningintohistory when I was little we lived on 23rd Ave., but I live in Hollidaysburg now
@OctavianXCII damn yeah you were close to me.
WOW
A real man, don’t make em like that anymore
yeah, but if you DO die working on a cathedral.
That HAS to be a free card into heaven, right?
It's like a holy workman's comp claim.
Lol adds up.
