Great video! How did you then make the new LEDs sync with the TV then?
The Software ist called Hyperion and can be installed on a Raspberry Pi to sync the TV Screen with / control the LEDs of a wled instance automatically. However, there is typically some delay which I do Not Like for watching movies. With These ambilight Promo Videos, you do Not See IT ...

For some that would like to have whats on your screen synced to your led strips using wled you can connect wled to signalRGB use the screen ambiance feature in signal. of course this only works on PC, curious to see what we are using here for the TV. Great video Chris.

Chris, I can't wait to see your video on that Hyperion proyect, I have some wled proyects and some govee too and I love them both, I was longing for a true ambilight in my gaming set up for a long time since I have the govee T1 but I never really loved the camera and color matching it gets, I went for the govee tv sync box and although it has its limitations I'm pretty happy with it, you encouraged me with to get a govee M1 to cut and reconnect to light different parts of my set up for my ambilight proyect and the results are dope!! I've seen many videos about hyperion but I never really got the nerve to make it, now that you've done it I might give it a chance soon, anyways thanks so much for the effort you put in your proyects and your humility to share them with us

hey chris.. big fan of yours ! so I have some led strip lights in my holeway which is not aqara lights and i wanna add aqara p1 motion sensor. could the p1 sensor trigger lights through alexa or not ? considering the lights are not from aqara.. I hope you answer me thank you
Thanks so much for watching! That's a great question. Unfortunately I've only used that sensor with the aqara light strips so I'm not sure if its compatible with other brands through automation. Maybe someone else on here will read the comment and be able to chime in? Great question though!

Are the two panels on the sides that each contain two runs SK6812 60 led/m powered by one 5v 10amp power supply? If so then you must have limited the brightness in wled right? Because 10 amps cant fully power these to max brightness.
Did I miss where you rewired these for 2 channel? If not, how do you send different signals to the two sides if they are on the same data line?

Are you using Hyperion/HyperHDR for the screen mirroring LED strips? If so, have you found hardware that is able to properly process Dolby Vision?

I’ve wanted something like this since hue brought the hdmi sync box out but I also want it for live tv built into the tv too, are there any wled projects which use a camera like govee? Or similar
@@michaelthompson657 no camera based system that's compatible with WLED that I'm aware of. There are still no perfect options that will do it all but they are getting close with some! Maybe one of these years it will all come together!
@@ChrisMaherDIY yeah maybe! I don’t even know if it’s worth using live tv anyway, I mean I watch nearly everything on my Apple TV anyway. Everytime I wonder what will happen with me choosing sources on my tv. At the moment I have an lg webos tv which works really well with HA, I have scripts setup to do everything like turn the tv on, set the input and volume etc. I’m just not sure what’ll happen with my inputs because they’ll be plugged into a separate matrix or similar. I’ve never done it for this reason in the end
